Instant Fantasy Analysis - WR Parris Campbell, Colts

Samuel was somewhere between running back and wide receiver in college, Campbell is much more of a true receiver. Campbell is more than just a deep threat, but the idea with Campbell was always to get the ball into his hands and see if he could take it to the house. Samuel never impressed me as a receiving prospect , Campbell has a true wr skillset to work the entire field, including deep routes.

Instant Fantasy Analysis - WR Parris Campbell, Colts

Campbell is a legit deep threat. As far as fantasy relevance, he might be my favorite rookie WR. Hes the type you want as a WR4/5. A home run play to start the year who could develop into something better and more consistent as the year goes on.

    Frank Clark

I'm not a Chiefs fan, but I don't see how this deal or off season has made them better as a team. They gave up a lot in this trade. Young, controllable, cheap, potentially impact players in those picks, for a DE that eats a lot of cap and isn't a massive upgrade from what they had a year ago. Even if the defense takes a step forward, if Hill is suspended, I suspect the offense will take two or three steps back. Hill does so much for that offense and it's ability to take advantage of the arm strength of Mahomes. Hill's ability to stretch the field, vertically and horizontally, was a key to making them that juggernaut that they were. With out him, you're left with a backfield duo of Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde, a receiving core headlined by Watkins and whoever else, and an elite TE in Travis Kelce who defenses can now afford to pay a lot of attention to. Not a real threatening group of skill players, and now they don't have any top end draft talent coming to help. The Raider's will be terrible, Elway will continue to hold Denver back, so the Chargers are the only thing in their way of the division and playoffs, but I don't think this off season has helped them short or long term.

    NFL Schedule 2019

It's something to consider, but I really don't put much weight into it this early in the year as there are too many variables. Great defenses become bad ones, bad ones become good ones, players get hurt etc. I think looking at a players week 14-16 schedule before week 5 or 6 is too early to put a ton of stock into it. On draft day it may be a minor consideration of mine, but in the end I'm drafting the person who I think has the better year. Although like most things in fantasy football, it's highly league and roster size dependent.

Need help: Most competitive league settings?

I agree it's just a matter of opinion, no right or wrong way to do it. Figure out the style you like, and play that way. Luck will always be a factor, h2h certainly can be more so, but I enjoy the weekly trash talk with that friend. The one win for top half of scoring makes up somewhat for the crap shoot that is your opponents score.

Need help: Most competitive league settings?

Luck is always a factor in fantasy football. H2h vs total points is a matter of opinion, so if that's how you like to play, good for you. H2h isn't complete luck, but a lot of scoring systems now take your scenario into account. In my main league that 0-4 team in your example would be 4-4. Total points gives a lot of weight to outlier weeks and inconsistent players. A few years ago Tavon Austin was a decent start in total points leagues and unusable in h2h. There's pros and cons to both styles.

Need help: Most competitive league settings?

Competitive and true measure are two entirely different things. Total points is boring week to week and teams are eliminated from contention far earlier. It actually creates a lack of competition.

Role Players That Will Breakout In 2019

Sure, I don't think he would need a full season to reach those numbers, which is good cause I don't think he will.

Need help: Most competitive league settings?

The best scoring settings are all about preference. For every person that screams 1 point PPR, another says standard and another will say 1/2 ppr. The most competitive leagues revolve around prizes, and the weekly settings don't really matter. Finding a way for a last place team in week 5 to still pay attention is usually the most difficult part. Whether that's giving all teams financial incentive late in the year, or making it so all teams still have a shot at the playoffs late in the year. The week to week settings don't matter much for competition since everyone is playing by the same rules. If your league sticks around long enough you can adjust the scoring systems to fit the people in the leagues preference.

    Anybody watching the AAF tonight?

"Perception inside the AAF is that Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon bought a majority stake in the league simply for the gambling app being developed. Source: "Dundon got the technology he wanted and he's now minus one rather large headache."" Now the $250 million he invested last month makes sense.

    Anybody watching the AAF tonight?

Starting a new league is a beast that I don't think can be conquered these days. The operating expenses are too high, and the cash flow is too low. Somewhere in the projections the investors received, there was a huge gap between what was told and what was reality. Whether that be operating expenses being substantially higher, projected investing cash being lower, or just really not understanding the target audience. I don't see how they went into this knowing they wouldn't have enough cash on hand to make it through the first season. Few businesses turn a profit in the first few months, especially ones with astronomical start up cost.

Pass Interference Calls are now Reviewable

I understand how a person who doesn't watch the games, doesn't see a down side to it. Game flow, may be an issue but using this to find petty penalties is my main concern.

Pass Interference Calls are now Reviewable

It should only be over turned if its clear, obvious, and egregious. I don't want this to be a hindsight 20/20 rule, where officials throwing flags after a review every time there's a bit of contact or slight pull on the jersey. The player should be tackled mid air, similar to the arcade game Blitz or what happened int he NFC championship game.

    First Round NFL Mock?

Not only are there a lack of trade partners in the middle picks, I get the feeling the Cardinals don't want to move very far down. This is a team that needs impact players, and if they do trade, they want to still be in a position to land a player who could be a franchise corner stone on the defensive side of the ball. I think there dream scenarios are to either trade the pick to the Raiders, or draft Murray and trade Rosen to the Giants for their #17. I think the latter is what they are hoping to do, and I think it makes sense for the Giants. The only way for them to salvage trading away OBJ, for what most view as a well below market return, is if they can turn it into a franchise QB.

    First Round NFL Mock?

My response was purely from what I've heard from the local reporters in AZ. Adding the right lineman in the mid first if they trade down makes perfect sense to me. The three lineman they added could be complete trash, or could turn the unit around. I honestly have no idea. The local media has built them up into being some decent additions, but they seem to all have injury histories, which has bitten the Cardinals the past few years. Their goal entering the off season was to add depth across the line, rather than make a big splash signing. It sounds like Sweezy will step in at RG, Gilbert at RT, while Garcia could battle for LG or just be depth. Their LT Humphries is in a make or break year. He was their last highly drafted lineman, taking him in the first round 3 or 4 years ago. If he struggles or continues to have injury problems, this entire unit will be bad again. Center is the only position they are set at. Their incumbent center got hurt in preseason last year, but they had a rookie come in and was the only member of the group that graded out well last year. The loser of that competition may just slide over to LG.

    First Round NFL Mock?

They added three O-linemen this off season and they seem content with that. They could add one or two in the middle rounds, but I expect the first round pick to be Murray or a defensive linemen and the second rounder to be a WR. If they trade down, they probably go best player available, which could be an offensive lineman, but don't expect the Cardinals to reach for one.

    First Round NFL Mock?

At no point in time have the Cards said anything negative about Rosen. The only thing they are doing is trying to drive up the price of whatever it is they plan to do. It'd be easy for them to pass on Murray and simply tell Rosen that they never had any real interest in Murray they just wanted to drive up the price for a potential trade of the first overall pick. The Cards know if they are taking Murray, but they have played it real close to the vest. I think they will, but not even the most well tied Cards insiders have anything concrete, it's all conjecture at this point. Kings comments saying he would take Murray #1 if he had the pick, were from the week before he played Murray. It's pretty standard to praise your opponent and give the most glowing compliments during that time. So take that comment with a grain of salt.

I don't see Tua being a special talent worth tanking for. He's just another shot in the dark first round pick.

Tate to the Giants is a perfect match. A WR who doesn't run routes longer than five yards, for a QB who can't throw it more than five yards.

Why is Carlos Hyde bouncing around so much?

Based on talent I'd agree with you, but that strays so far from what we have come to know from Reid. Maybe he could be changing his philosophy, but Reid's RB usage history tells us one will become an every down back.

Does that include Lamar Jacksons rushes? Cause that will skew that number real fast.
