  1. People like McKinnon because of his career 4.9ypc.

Not saying it's valid, but that's why.

That's better than I thought he would have. I'm not a Vikings fan so I don't watch every second of their games, but when I see him play I see a backup running back who splits carries with a slower backup.

  2. Your league is deep at TE on the waivers, so I personally wouldn't own two, but it's your team not mine. The one guy that jumps out at me is Sims. Martin has a hammy problem and those tend to linger. If Martin is out, Sims could become your RB2/Flex. Some people like Mckinnon but I don't see him doing much. CMike. is another guy who you could roster. Rawls is a little banged up and has looked awful so far this year. If CMike somehow gets the featured role, he could also make it into your lineup.

As far as WR go, M. Wheaton and Enunwa are the top guys I see. Tate is your most likely drop candidate as of now. Since you own Decker, Enunwa might make a decent handcuff of sorts. I haven't seen enough of Tate to be real confident either way on that one.

  3. I'd probably rank them:

    McKinnon

    CAP

    Asiata

    Washington

    Drake

If my league used FAAB I would only shoot for the talent of McKinnon with Peterson possibly out for months. I still might just pick up an extra TE.

I don't get the love for Mckinnon. People seem to think he's a special talent, but he isn't (anyone who splits with Asiata can't be great). On top of that, Peterson couldn't run behind that o-line, no reason to think Mckinnon or Asiata can.

  4. I'm not following. He is currently serving his four game suspension. Correct me if I am wrong, but come week 5 he is able to return...correct?

Dexter McCluster signed with SD. That was the most logical landing spot for him.

I'm 99% sure you have to be rostered in order to serve a suspension.

  5. I have no need for a running back who is splitting Jonathan Stewart's points in half. Last year when Stewart sat it was a little bit of both. CAP is only deactivated for Sunday's because Whittaker is a better pass catcher and special teams player.

  6. Funny last week someone asked if Rivers was done.

    I think he's worth a pick up.

But in a eight team league I wouldn't rush out to do it.

No need to have a back up in an 8 team league. Use the roster spot on an extra RB/WR. If Cam goes down, you will still have quality QBs to pick from.

  7. It being early in the year, I have a feeling those guys are going to cost more of my FAAB than I want to spend. I'd rather save my dollars, until late in the year on guys who could actually make a difference when I need them to. There are a couple of lower key guys I'm looking into that probably won't cost as much, but offer similar upside.

Dwayne Washington -Det. Abdullah may miss some time. Riddick is a pass catcher and has proven to be unreliable when running between the tackles on a consistent basis. Washington should get the early downs and any goal line carries. Even when Abdullah comes back, he will still get the goal line work, keeping some minor value regardless.

Kenyon Drake -Mia. Probably the best combination of talent and health that Miami has. If he shows a little earlier on, he could very well take the #2 job from the unimpressive Ajayi.

Kenneth Farrow - Probably just a spell guy, but he could have some value if anything happens to Gordon.

  8. Just think it's going to be hard to find anyone willing to give trade a player who is going to equal the production. Might be a lot easier to acquire Powell, and ride the forte production than to get decent value on forte.

  9. I had the Eagles D last week, and they were decent. Was kind of concerned about starting them @ Chicago, so I picked up Jets D. Seems like a bad move on my part thus far. I fell into the trap of everyone saying how bad Buffalo's offense was. I should have given more thought to this being a divisional game, and Rex playing his old team. Revis Island is no more. I know KC didn't do very well, but they have some injuries. Houston is out, and Hali is not 100%.

Did the same thing, should have stuck with the Eagles vs Santa Claus.

  10. I don't think it takes much effort for Forte to get 100 combined yards a game and a td each game. Yeah, he's getting older, but I'd say the Jets' passing game and o-line is better than the Bears was.

I doubt there's anyone out there in my league looking to unload a top 10 WR for him, so I'll take as many points as I can get for as long as I can.

Exactly. Even if he only gets 15-18 carries plus his usual catches, you're looking at a consistent baseline of around 100 yards combined, add in a TD or two every couple of weeks and you have a low end RB1. There's also no way a team that with Marshall and Decker and just threw for 375 yards, has to worry about a stacked box. Powell can take 10 touches a game, and Forte is still productive. Freeman is an unproven back that had a couple of great games, Forte has been doing this for 6+ years. Injury and healthy are the only way I see him dropping from an RB1.

  11. As Jets fan I hope you're right but those days of being a workhorse are gone. All those touches will take a toll on his body. Fantasy aside, I would like to see Bilal Powell touch the ball 7-10 per game. Forte will still get the Lion's share but I rather him last the whole season than play 10-12 games where he misses a few due to injuries. They both have similar games and the drop off from Forte and Powell is not that much with Forte being the better RB obviously.

I guess it just comes down to what people mean can he keep this up. Obviously 30 carries is a lot and almost unheard of by RBs today. So I don't see him keeping that up. 3 TDs in a game is a lot and no way he keeps that up. I think he still can handle 20-25 touches a game, and in that offense keeps in RB1 conversation, which is higher than most people thought he'd be.

  12. I have to disagree with people. The only reason people think Forte may drop off is because he is 30 and we have it built in our minds that RBs after 30 can't produce. Forte has done this his entire career so I see no reason he should even be compared to Freeman. Powell is clearly a couple levels behind Forte as far as talent goes. Forte may not get 30 carries all that often, but more often than not he's going to end up with more than 2 catches for 9 yards. As the year goes on, Powell may take some additional touches away, but Forte has a track record and fits the Jets offense so well, that should lead us to believe he can put up top 10 numbers here on out.
