Do you try to offset your opponent's stud QB?

Never claimed to be coming up with an innovative theory here. Was just giving a couple of specific examples of guys - Moncrief and Davante Adams - who even as WR3s on their own teams, make pretty tempting plays over WR1s or WR2s from other offenses - because of the QBs they're playing with. -
Yep - even if Hill didn't mean to, that's how it looked - and that's why Hue Jackson got so defensive/aggressive in response. The question is will Hue carry this over into the game plan and try to have Gio out-shine Hill.
-
Yeah, probably just over-thinking this. Just worried that Keenan Lewis held Kelvin under 30 yards last time, and Cam's history against the Saints is so bad. But Kelvin delivered for me all year - and flat out won me games with his awesome garbage time deliveries. I'll stick with him.
-
He only saw 4 targets but partly b/c he took 2 of them to the house. It was just a weird game like that. Lots of big plays / quick scoring - the two by Moncrief and one long TD by Boom. I'm curious if Moncrief gets a lot more targets in a more typical game flow.
-
Would you start him over Kelvin Benjamin? Would it make a difference if your opponent had Luck?

Okay fair enough.............thought the board would be at least a little more split on this...........but feedback seems pretty clear. -

Probably not going to start Richard Rodgers over Kelce just to offset Aaron Rodgers. That's probably taking the offset strategy too far. -

Tricky b/c Joe Haden should be on TY Hilton. Another reason I'm thinking Moncrief could be a good play. Normally wouldn't bench a higher-rated WR1 like Kelvin to play a WR3 like Moncrief but............ Luck has 34 TDs. Cam has 12 TDs. Luck is on fire. Cam may get fired. Luck could continue to use his new shiny toy (Moncrief) since Hilton will have a top CB on him and Wayne is really slowing down. Tough call..........I wouldn't try to "offset" if it was Wayne vs. Kelvin.........but Moncrief????? And then at TE, I have both Dwayne Allen and Julius Thomas coming off ankles. Similar risks so maybe play the one who would offset Luck's TD? -
Will we ever see Latavius Murray this year ?

Yeah with the Raiders - when playing either divisional teams or a local foe like SF - you kind of have to throw base statistics out the window. I also think OAK could come out with some fire since they're playing at home and coming off a 50 burger blowout shutout. And their OL is still getting push. DMC and MJD are just too damn slow to make anything of it. Even in that STL game last week, I was watching the replay of it, and before the game got totally out of hand, there were definitely some drives where the Raiders OL was getting a lot of movement and a lot of running lanes against the STL defensive line. Latavius wiould have really made something of that. -
These are the reasons I'm worried about Hill......... 1.) Loss of RT Andre Smith - huge loss and backup Marhsall Newhouse is awful. 2.) Hue Jackson trying to prove a point to Jeremy Hill - this could go either way, not sure if their little feud will be used to motivate Hill or if Hue Jackson will give the majority of carries to Gio to spite Hill. 3.) Steelers getting Ryan Shazier back and maybe Jarvis Jones back too. I know they lost Brett Kiesel, but getting the young LBs back will help them. Really tough call for me but I'm leaning towards benching Jeremy Hill for Jonathan Stewart in one league and for Latavius Murray in another.

By playing their WRs and/or TEs? Even if it means playing slightly lower ranked WRs/TEs? I think I'm leaning that way this week. My opponent has Andrew Luck. I can offset by starting Donte Moncrief, but I'd be benching Kelvin Benjamin. I can offset by starting Dwayne Allen, but I'd be benching Julius Thomas. In another league, my opponent has Aaron Rodgers. I can offset by starting Davante Adams, but I'd be benching Keenan Allen and Roddy White. How close do the choices need to be ranked for you to start the WRs/TEs who would offset your opponent's QB threat.

There's plenty of reasons not to play Latavius Murray - Raiders stink, 49ers Defense is very solid against the run, Sparano's stubborn RB rotation, etc. - but........logic also would've dictated sitting Latavius against the thought-to-be-stout Chiefs defense in week 12. Idk but from what I saw, Latavius just looked nasty! Huge gamble to play him but my scoring system gives bonuses for long distance TDs and he's definitely a home run hitter. I'm starting Latavius over Jeremy Hill. -
Who steps up for SEA in place of Harvin/Rice?

Any updates on today's practice? Figure this is nothing but just wanna be sure......
