We typically see a wave of draft positioning trades after the keepers are locked in, but surprisingly that doesn't appear to be happening much this season. As I look at the tracker sheet, I only see a handful of keepers still sitting in the front half of a round, so maybe it's just an odd year where most keepers landed in the back end of your rounds by default and pure coincidence. If folks are pretty settled and happy with their draft positioning and don't plan on seeking trades of this type, I am open to getting the draft started a little sooner than 7pm on Thu. If you are still contemplating on making some offers, please try do so over the next 24-48 hours. Trades are a PITA to deal with on the fly during the draft, so I'd appreciate getting any positioning deals out of the way before we kick it off. I'm fine with trades that occur in the draft to nab a player you really want and you feel he won't be there at your next pick. I'm not saying I won't deal with positioning trades if they occur during the draft, but if you can save me that "real time" work, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!

This includes the missing players, any player whose keeper round moved into round 1-5 at the start of last season and any other player who has used up their 3 keeper years. All of your eligible keepers have had their round value increased by 3 per standard rules. The "Yrs Used" column indicates the amount of years already kept on top of draft year. If this number is 2, this is the final year you can keep the player. Also remember that you do not need to keep 5, that's just the maximum and keeping fewer or none is also an option. The Keeper Value column represents the round of the draft you will need to give up to retain the player. Please declare your keepers in this thread and be sure to mark them as tentative or final. The deadline for keeper declaration will be this Friday, 2/23 before 11:59pm. I will then enter declared keepers to the tracker sheet and get that online over the weekend. If you have not finalized keepers by that time, your tentative list will be used. If more than 5 are on the tentative list, the first 5 will be used. If no keeper list has been defined, no-one will be kept. You CAN now trade excess keepers for simple pre-draft pick swaps (also until this Fri). Use the other thread I set up to define your trade bait/untouchables or to state your needs if looking for keepers. "I'll give you John Smith and my 20th for your 15th" kind of stuff only through Friday. Save anything that doesn't involve trading an excess keeper candidate until later. Do NOT post trades for players you plan to keep or for draft spot positioning yet! I will reject them out of hand. I will open things up for positioning trades as soon as the initial draft tracker sheet is online and it is easier to see where declared keepers lie within rounds. A reminder - we derive our draft order in a unique manner. The order is defined by manager choice. The winner of the consolation bracket gets to choose their desired draft position. If they want pick 1, great. Pick 12, fine. Etc. The Champion gets whatever draft slot is left after others have decided. So, the order of slot choice is defined by the following finishing positions from the previous season. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. We have a new manager - Blink-162 will be the team name and his name is Aaron. Everyone say, "Hi Aaron!" LOL I have transferred WW's team to him on the Yahoo site and sent him a link to the forum but it may take a day or two for it to get approved (if I recall). Bottom line, we're back to 12 and ready to continue the overall pre-season festivities!

Awesome! Feel free to share my cell info with him and he can text me his info. For starters, just need his team name, email address and phone contact info (which I'll get via that initial text). With that, I can get him into the Yahoo site, start the process to get him an account on this forum and ensure he is part of any personal (during draft) and group texts (minimal and only when needed). Maybe you can start to bring him up to speed on some of the unique nuances/rules of our league.

Chatted with Posty and he can't rejoin this season. He will be helping me out with the keeper and draft tracker sheets (many thanks in advance) and will be a "fly on the wall" during the draft and season as always.

Use this post to offer up your excess keepers or to request keepers. Do not negotiate deals here. It's just a thread to expedite understanding of the players folks are willing to offer and that others may be looking for by position or approximate round value. Declare your keepers in the other thread. Use this one to inform others of interest in someone's eligible keepers or to put out your keeper trade bait.

When my season went down the crapper last year, I went into keeper obtaining/hoarding mode. I ended up with a bunch of (IMO) excess values and am struggling to figure out who my five will end up being. So, I'm looking to make those decisions a little easier while obtaining some draft upgrades along the way. You can also review your final roster from last season to begin looking at possible keepers (yours and others) to get an early jump on the phase of the pre-season. Typically, I'd define some specific dates/deadlines for each step of the pre-season. We have some urgency this year though. Talent Scout has a (pretty cool) trip planned to Japan starting on March 10 and may not have consistent (if any) Internet access while he's there. I'm not sure if we can jam it all in before then, but let's just move on a principle of "ASAP" for the various steps along the way - roll call, payments, draft order, keeper selections, etc. TS - if we don't make it through it all, apologies in advance. You did note that you may be able to recruit a buddy of yours to mop up any remaining tasks we have left to do before your departure. KEEPER LEAGUE RULES * Roster Size : 30 round snaking draft with 5 IL spots available. See Yahoo league site for lineup configurations and scoring stats used. * You can keep up to 5 players from your final 2023 roster. You do not have to keep 5, but that is the maximum. * Contract length is 4 years max (draft year + 3). Keeper service time and round status will follow a player if traded or if picked up from the WW. Be aware of this when trading for another team's keepers. * Players drafted in rounds 1 through 5 cannot be kept the following year. Note that if a keeper's round value moves them into the first 5 rounds, they become ineligible to keep the next year regardless of the number of years you've had them. * For each player you keep, you must give up a draft pick 3 rounds higher than the player's draft position the year before. If you have two players at the same draft round value that you wish to keep, then the next earlier draft round must be given up as well to retain both. For example, in order to keep two 15th round picks, you would have to use your 12th AND 11th rounders to keep both OR acquire an additional 12th round pick before the draft begins to prevent this from happening. Be aware of this when trading for another team's keepers. * Players acquired via free agency cannot be kept unless they were drafted during that year. * Only players in the Yahoo database can be drafted. * Future draft picks cannot be traded. * Weekly limits - min IP of 30 - min AB of 150 (via gentleman's agreement). * Season transaction limit is 70. For playoffs, counter is reset and 20 transactions are allowed for the playoffs.
