I think it may depend on your scoring- Pts per recept I play Avery- he has been very hot with no real QB (look at his last few weeks production) Yardage and TD only- I play Lance Moore- like it or not he has been Drew Brees #1 Target all season (I own Colston, Avery, Lance and Walter in another league) Walter is my 3rd choice for you esp in a pts per recept league as he is getting lots of looks bc AJ is drawing double coverage The others are hit and miss both of these guys will yield you pts with some significant upside (20+ depending on your scoring), I dont think the odds that the other options can get north of 20+ without some major luck is there. Doing the reverse process of elimination- Coles- out b/c Tenn could shut down the Jets and Favre may not have any time. Depends on your scoring a bit b/c he could see a lot of underneath work with high # of recepts. Could leave you with single digits and no TDs Chambers- He is hit or miss and Rivers et al have finally started to pound LT so that makes him a bit less, however he is as likely or more then Sammy to score a TD. If you have pts per recep combined with TD - he is an OK play and wont leave you with a goose egg. Potential to post 20-30 pts Pittman- a bit of the flavor of the day and has not proved himself enough to get me to start him unless I dont have other options Sammy Morris- only play him for the TD potential. Could leave you with single digits. Thus unless you have some big feeling about Morris and the TD potential I play Chambers best upside with least downside risk. Should I make a claim for Darren McFadden?
Old School Baller replied to runner06's topic in A Little Help!
Interesting question Absent the Keeper League Question- blocks are only worthwhile IMHO when they actually block the opponent- this one is debateable. However you dont have much to lose- moving back in the WW at this point in your season with your roster wont really hurt you (you have plenty of depth and if a true stud goes down you have bigger problems). So lets say you use the WW claim- claim McFadden then the Q is who to drop- again absent the Keeper League- fairly easy- you drop Rice. Now lets work in the keeper league (this is how I do my keepers)- Who would you rather have McFadden/Rice or Thomas. To me it is McFadden-- so again lets make the claim. Now who to drop with Keeper in mind--- Thomas- much less change you will want to hold him in a keeper with your roster. Your keepers even with the claim may not include McFadden/Rice or Thomas. I assume you would protect in order something like the below Fitz (no brainer- esp as Boldin is likely moved next year) Forte- Bush (esp if you have pts per recept) Brown Johnson McFadden Just dont see Rice or Thomas cracking that list. So if you want to make the block it really has no cost to you. Make it and move on. Mine at http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=333793 -
I have similar problems at my WR (I have Avery, Colston and Lance Moore with Braylon Edwards and Chris Chambers)- makes it very frustrating. This week I like Lance Moore over Colston (until he shows that he really is healthy)- Lance is getting plenty of work and if you have pts per recep he will have much less downside then Colston. I dont think you can play both vs GB- too much risk on the downside. AJ is the no brainer as you say. So the rest to me is about 1 spot for you. Coles vs Tenn is scary- I dont know that Favre will get much time in the pocket, not sure that Mangold can hold off Tenn when then stunt- Means he has to handle Hainsworth one on one, if they bring in the back to help then the lanes open up for the pressure. Favre I think will be getting the ball out fast, thus limiting upside for Coles except for YAC and Tenn's D can run well. So not much there on the upside and the downside could be big. Ocho- well he is Ocho with crap at QB and a good Pit D, stay away So by default I play the hot hand Avery- who has a good matchup and been getting better each week. Lance Moore- getting big #s and lots of attention including targets. He is the real deal, I have both Colston and Moore on my roster and play Moore over Colston until Colston proves he is back to 2008 form. Mine at http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=333793

Thx for help with mine. Bench Coles, not sure that Favre will have enough time to get the ball downfield. Mangold may not be able to hold of Hainsworth when stunts and that means help is needed, opening up other rushers. Favre will be on a very short clock to get rid of the ball. Tenn appears to be for real so with your options I respect that and move to other alternatives.

Thx for help on mine. Nice problem to have- play the MVP- ride the stud. Play Warner- even when the team loses to the NYG he will go for 300-350 and 2 scores, assume 2 turnovers in most leagues scoring that is still high 20s or better. Make Romo prove that he is healthy and that the Cowboys plan to expand the throwing game.

LJ/Lance Moore for Fitzgerald? Yes or No?
Old School Baller replied to dumbassmax2001's topic in A Little Help!
Do IT FAST before the other guy realizes LJ isnt the old LJ at all- there are many better players for spot fills. Lance Moore is great but Fitz is playing with the MVP and getting huge #s even as the "#2 WR)- btw Lance is the "#2" WR on NOs but who has better #s- him or Colston. Sit Westy- injury and tougher matchup then it appears Play Addai and Grant- to me the question mark is Addai but still better then your others. I think Indy is going to light it up this week. Mine at http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=333793

Sit the League MVP?- look at it that way-- NO WAY Garcia vs Det could toss 150 and win the game, Warner can throw for 350 and lose the game to the Giants. The Giants D is great but they AZ offensive schemes will post the yards and TDs. I see Warner easy at 300 yards and 2 TDs and likely at 350 and 2 TDs with 1 or 2 Ints. I think Garcia vs Det just doesnt have enough firepower to really get you the big #s. Warner will outproduce him question is by 10 or 30. who will be better this week and on
Old School Baller replied to gerbilboy's topic in A Little Help!
Depends a bit on your scoring in a pts per recep league I like Walter much better as he isnt seeing the coverages that Driver is/will be. Andre gets all the coverage and Walter quietly posts lots of recepts. In a TD league or no pts per recep then I like Driver better because he is going to see more TDs which has to have better upside. GB also is playing better which has to help. Mine at http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=333793 -
Pts per recep league- 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/rec and 6 per TD. 1 pt per recep Help me choose 2 to start with some reasons why - post a link and I will answer yours as well. Willie Parker on THURS vs Cincy Has not been seeing the goal line carries although Mikey T has said this week he will (not sure if that is spin) Warrick Dunn @ Det- couldnt get a better matchup (except on the road) ---- Nice quiet pts all season but no big games, I figure with Graham out and Caddy barely back (*if that) he has to have much upside Thomas Jones @ Tenn- has been the stud of this group all season but with Tenn coming and Hainsworth wreaking havoc I am a bit concerned about rushing ability. On the road and vs Tenn has me worried

Always tough to bench your top pick but you have the horses- BENCH LJ, Play Edge. However to not properly evaluate what you really have costs you the win. LJ vs Edge for 1 week today if you were drafting vs these matchups you would take Edge. Just because he spent a lot in the draft dont over ride the horse. He might sit a lot of this game and if they get behind they are even more likely to rest hi, LJ may not play all the series, has a tougher matchup and hasnt produced. Edge will get you some points and could score some TDs. Nice to have Edge sitting in the wings for you. Mine @ http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=292065

Morris @ RB2 esp with Maroney Limited McDonald is the tougher play even with PPR given the match up. Always try for a decent RB in PPR but Dayne doesnt catch much and has been known to not produce. Dayne has more upside (TDs) and McDonald more downside. As you say this is about max pts, to me that is Morris in RB2 and Dayne (hold your nose) in Flex- esp as you even considered Dayne as RB2 this should be acceptable. McDonald could put up less then 10 pts given matchup, Dayne!!!! Mine @ http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=292065
