    L Murray or Cooks?

In a 3 keeper league, keepers not mandatory - you can throw back and draft in front of the full draft. I did that last year... this year, I think I'm going to keep 3. Demarco Murray AJ Green ---------------------------------------------------------------- Third keeper is between Latvius Murray and Brandon Cooks. I originally thought Murray, then changed my mind to Cooks - just like to hear what others think of these 2 guys?? Full pt ppr, everything else pretty std. Thanks

    Mike Evans

Just read that they're calling it a "hamstring strain." Just lost Jordy in a league I have Evans - can't afford to lose both!!

    Late RBs who to target?

I like David Johnson and David Cobb as late round guys - although, they are both moving up. I took Johnson in the 11th round of a recent draft, and was going to take David Cobb in the 12th - but John Brown had dropped into the 12th, and I thought Cobb would be there coming back, so I took Brown in the 12th, and Cobb went with the next pick. I got Mathews in round 9 in that draft, and Ameer Abdullah in round 7.
  4. Trade Luck for a pick or a better keeper at RB/WR.
  5. Ur RB's on team one are very shaky, you're going to have hit on some guys off the waiver wire. Why have 2 QB's?? Both of those teams would look much better with an RB like David Johnson or David Cobb.

Is anyone on the David Cobb Bandwagon?

Generally I agree, however Cobb is tough between the tackles and Sankey is better suited to be a 3rd down back - I think Cobb will eventually own that job. Maybe not as emphatically as Jeremy Hill, but him and Gio are a good template for Cobb and Sankey. Old school, I think Cobb can be pretty good.

Is anyone on the David Cobb Bandwagon?

Yeah, I like Cobb a lot... have only had one live draft, and was getting ready to pull the trigger on him, when he got sniped right in front of me - 11th round I think it was. I'm going to target him earlier in my other drafts.

    Team to young?

I made a trade to get to those keepers... there's some logic gymnastics involved, b/c the trade didn't yield an apples-to-apples comparison. The trade was: I gave Demarco Murray Demaryius Thomas Jimmy Graham I get Adrian Peterson Mike Evans ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the surface I know that looks lopsided, but it allowed me to keep Jordan Matthews instead of Graham, and also draft Kelce. Also, since I don't value QB's very highly, I would have loved to have Big Ben, but not enough to spend a keeper on him when I knew I could pick up a good QB later. So when I made the trade - I took a minor leap of faith that Kelce would drop to me in the draft, as I knew he would not be protected, and figured the owners ahead of me in the draft would root around at other positions. So the trade in my mind was this all along - I give: Demarco Murray Demaryius Thomas Jimmy Graham Rothlesrapist I get: Adrian Peterson Mike Evans Jordan Matthews Travis Kelce Tony Romo (10th round) Doing it that way I was able to reshape my roster a bit. Demarco will definitely take a step back; Graham and Kelce could very well be a wash; and I love Evans's long term upside - combined with Thomas also likely to come down a bit as Manning fades.

    J. Matthews upside limited as a slot WR?

Don't know why playing in the slot more would hurt his production. Teams live thru the slot - and lining up there might single him up on a teams 5th or 6th DB. I doubt his targets would decrease - quite the opposite actually. Takes more savvy to play from there; routes will generally be shorter; lot of traffic inside and down the seams; so he's not a guy I would tag as being a natural for the position; but he's a big target, decent hands, and seems tough enough. Just matters what they're asking him to do.

    Sankey, Woodhead, or Gray?

I think the guy you want out of that Tennessee backfield is David Cobb. Might not play much early, but I think he's probably the best back there.

    Genius?........or DUMB!

There is the obvious downside of being too heavily invested in one offense, i.e. they have a bad week, or two; and their bye week. That's a lot of firepower you're sitting down all in one week. Your WR1, WR2/3, RB1, and QB1. Add in injuries to your roster - which we all have to deal with - and you might have to count that bye week as a likely loss. And on weeks that the Pittsburgh offense sputters, unless you get big numbers elsewhere in your lineup, you're probably sunk for that week. I don't mind having a couple of guys from one team, especially don't mind prolific QB/WR tandems - when they're clicking it's like watching a pinball machine light up!! But 4 guys from one offense, occupying 4 of your biggest point producing roster spots, makes you susceptible to being sunk by the results from one game.

    Team to young?

This is a 5 Keeper league... I used to have the dominate team in this league, but grew a little long in the tooth - been 2 years since I won the league, and have spent the last couple of years trying to reconfigure my 5 Keepers and make another run at a title. It's a 10 team league, STD scoring. Keepers were: Adrian Peterson, RB Carlos Hyde, RB Jordy Nelson, WR Mike Evans, WR Jordan Matthews, WR Drafted today, 6th round onward, 8th pick Travis Kelce Ameer Abdullah, RB Allen Robinson, WR Ryan Mathews, RB Tony Romo, QB David Johnson, RB John Brown, WR Ryan Tannehill, QB Kendall Wright, WR Rams Def. Dan Bailey, K That leaves my roster with 2 rookie RB's and 5 second year players... uber invested in youth. Figure it will hurt me this year, but give a lot of options next year. Plus with some in-season wizardry, I might be able to keep up. Anyway, just thought I'd some opinions about having such a young roster?

Who would you take in this situation?

I'd probably go Jeffries... I never look at QB's until at least the 5th round, and usually end up with a 30 TD, 4,000 yd QB in the 9th round. This year, there are a lot of decent 2nd tier RB's that are following back to rd 4, and fewer sure things at WR - that and the fact that, even though I like Forsett as a player - will he hold up under another heavy load, at 30 and smallish?? For those reason, I think Jeffries is the pick, if you think he is the best WR available.

Rank these 2nd year Wr long term value

Long term... Robinson Brown Bryant Adams Landry Latimer This season I could see all those guys being pretty close, but Robinson will likely get the most targets. Brown/Cards are completely QB dependent, if Carson goes down, so does Brown. Bryant might not see enough volume to break the bank; Landry will come in at 10.5 yd/c. I like Adams a lot, but lot of mouths to feed there... haven't really formed much of an opinion of Latimer yet - he has to show something this year.
  15. I'd take Evans in the first group, and Cooks from the second. Evans: I just invested, probably too heavily, but invested nonetheless. I see Evans as a difference maker - if Winston works out (and I think he will benefit Evans with he makes it or not) - Evans value will will go up quite a bit. He's a huge target and very physical receiver; good speed, good routes, good hands. Posted decent numbers with terrible QB play... expect Winston will be an improvement; if Winston hits it big by year/2-3, Evans will be considered elite. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like Cooks more than Matthews. I think Matthews is a good receiver, but not game breaking - when my team is playing both teams, I'd be much more concerned about Cooks with the Saints than Matthews with the Eagles. I do like Hopkins quite a bit too... their QB situation is such a mess though.
