A side note to this is that the FBI had named one of Adams friends, Philip Banks, an un indicted co conspirator in a corruption case a few years ago. Adams turned around and appointed Banks as a deputy commissioner in the NYPD, essentially running the place. The feds were not happy with that, assuredly.
