I think a big factor in this is of course, location. People from other parts of the country don’t know how expensive school and property taxes are in certain parts. Mine are up to 12k combined per year right now. And that’s not nearly as bad as in NJ and closer to the city. My house the next county down, less than 5- 6 minutes away, would be closer to 20k. Now if you have an outdated small ranch in some Shittburgh of let’s say Baltimore, you aren’t paying near that. Just something to consider.
