To Move.... or not to move?
The PosterFormerlyKnownAs replied to mmmmm...beer's topic in The Geek Club
I think you are focusing on this wrong by comparing the Billings financial situation to the Vancouver one. The question is more basic: “I want to live in a place that X, Y, Z and want my day to day life to be like A, B, C.” Does Billings and the opportunity adequately meet that? If so, is the offer doable in your short and long term financial plans? My take: you need to get out of your current situation. You know Billings, so you should be able to answer that side. What we don’t know is whether there are other locations and opportunities in the reliable future that might be better than Billings for XYZ ABC. Also, stop overthinking until you have a formal offer in hand. Apply. See how it shakes out in getting to an offer. Then make a decision. -

1) listen to scientists. 2) find a way to encourage wearing of masks. Do things like wear a mask to demonstrate it’s important. Say it’s important. 3) make rapid testing widely available and accessible. 4) give incentives to support people who have tested positive to stay home and quarantine. Help Employers support that. 5) encourage schools to remain virtual to limit spread. -

Anyone ever shop at the airport
The PosterFormerlyKnownAs replied to Djgb13's topic in The Geek Club
Yes - emergency wardrobe on a few trips; a very cool local artists shop In Albuquerque; plenty of duty free Scotch overseas; and a desperation haircut in Dallas. Plenty of massages too. But not sure how many airport stores will be open now. Btw, airport store prices for larger items are usually similar to the same you’d pay at a regular store ... just rarely any discounts in my experience. Or if there is a “deal” it’s only to bring things back to what you’d typically pay. -
How I Get Treated With a Gas Mask
The PosterFormerlyKnownAs replied to FlyinHeadlock's topic in The Geek Club
Chaz Darwin talked about this in The Descent of Man. Wimmens want to pass along their genes as viable offspring, so they will choose whatever foolish adaptation that occurs that they think will help that. Given how important child-rearing is, the gas mask will help ensure that at least one of you is there to raise any illegitimate bastard child your lustful interlude produces. Or maybe the mask makes her think she’s finally found a man who will overlook the massive flatulence problem that has stunted her career aspirations of being an executive office floozie. Either way, steak is nice, but a bit of variety is nice on occasion. -

I mean, I just answered threads about weighted blankets and cauliflower steak on the Geek Club. Save me Roger! -
Anybody ever do cauliflower steak,?
The PosterFormerlyKnownAs replied to wiffleball's topic in The Geek Club
Yes, it’s okay on the vegetable side of things. I find that you need to parboil the cauliflower first so that it gets past feeling like you are eating charred raw veg. The seasoning is key too - a good chimmichurri or the like. Best served with steak. -
Weighted Blanket - anyone use

Creamed corn. Details: So a man and his friend are going on a trip, when their car breaks down in the middle of the desert. But they see a house about a half a mile away. When they get there they knock on the door, and a dirty old lady answers. They both ask her for food and water, she replies "The only way I'd give any of you food is if one of you gets me pregnant". One if them backs out and just waits outside as his friend agrees. He and the old lady walk upstairs to her room. On their way, he finds a piece of corn on the cob and puts it in his pocket. She lays down on her back and closes her eyes. He then has the idea to put the corn he just found into her instead of his . He finishes in 4 minutes then quickly throws it out the window. He goes downstairs and and collects some food, then he brings it to his friend which is waiting outside. But he replies to him "I'm okay, I just had the best creamed corn" -

I’m going South Africa, born in 1975. Hopefully I make it to 20 and then get to see the massive shift to a post-apartheid government. -
