Markie Post was superb and an all time fave. When she died my wife told me that now she could quit worrying about me trying to leave her for Markie. She still has Laura Leighton to worry about though.

Bob Casey running an ad tying himself to Donald Trump and even picturing him in his ad says a lot about where his campaign sees the state of the presidential race in PA. -

Shesh, I just saw the clip where Gaffigan went in on the Democrats for pulling a coup on Joe Biden. That had to tighten some sphincters in the room.

I just don't see it based on her actions and her comments that the border was secure during the Biden Administration. To me it showed a willing deception to the status that she knew to be true at the time, that the border was a huge issue. In the interview with Bret Baier, she referenced the first bill they tried to pass when controlling both chambers and the White House. That bill included a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants without securing the border. I'm sure you will disagree with the summary and we are far apart on this, but there were Democrats who opposed it for those very reasons. I'm happy that now she sees it as an issue, but the reality is that it was an issue much earlier. I'm not one who calls her dumb or stupid, but by that same token I feel she fully knew the situation at the border was dire and basically took the administration stance of lying to the public about it being secure. So I do view her way to the left of the Clinton Administration when it comes to the border. You may well be right on Johnson, and more so that Johnson is held hostage by his caucus in a way Gingrich wasn't. Your second point is largely true, and neither party is going to address it. If we are going to run deficits, I'd rather do it with relatively lower spending and relatively lower taxes, even if I think spending is too high. The reason for that is it gives us more runway or altitude to raise revenues in the future to offset that lesser spending. It's also hard to reel in spending once we add a new program. At least if you're working with somewhat smaller numbers, even if the deficit was the same, you have more room to fix the issue. Sadly, I don't see anyone fixing the issue so it's just like trying to keep altitude on a plane without engines praying at some point they restart because you're crashing, it's just a matter of how much time you are leaving to try and find a solution.

I voted for Clinton twice, would vote for him again today assuming he would govern as he did then. Loved the way he and Gingrich worked together, whether a forced marriage or not. Do you feel Kamala Harris would have supported Operation Gatekeeper? See her working with Mike Johnson to help balance the budget?

I got a good chuckle out of him telling Chuck Schumer not to worry, that given how woke his party has become that after he beats Kamala Harris that Schumer can still become the first woman President.

Sure there was, from MLB 100%. If someone didn't take the time to research what that organization had done for the community in Atlanta and realize how many minority owned businesses were hurt, to move to Denver of all places instead, well that's hard for me to view as pure. The problem wasn't real, because if it were a problem it wouldn't be in the past tense, it would still be such an objectionable problem the game shouldn't be there. The law is still the same and yet the game is back. So either those wonderful pure hearted uninformed individuals were wrong from the start, or they are purely political beings and knew the whole time nothing was wrong and did it for political reasons. Now, it can be either of the two, but it must be one of the two because nothing at all has changed. -

Yeah, they made voting less restrictive than most blue states, go figure. So they punish the businesses in Atlanta, many minority owned, as well as the franchise in MLB that's done probably the most to help the black community. That was the most hypocritical political stunt I've seen them pull in awhile. It was stupid, and it's proven out to be so in voting totals. The numbers don't lie, they never do. Hey, but it made them be able to virtue signal and that's really all they wanted. Nothing changed, and the game is back, so it really shows what the truth was the entire time. -

Someone should tell Rob Manfred. Remember when it was Jim Crow 2.0 and MLB moved the All Star Game? They really showed them. Cost that area and business there countless millions of dollars over that nonsense. -

Slight further shift in odds, it's now 3:2. Pricing is getting pretty handsome even with the vig at +140 if you really think Harris is a coin flip. -

Nevada and Arizona seem to have normalized to what I’d expect. I didn’t expect a world where Trump could win blue wall states and possibly not GA or NC but that possibility seems to exist. I have no idea what to expect out of NC due to the storm damage. GA is polling well for Trump but early turnout may be bad for him depending on if this is new vote that wouldn’t have otherwise voted or is just a change of type of vote. I think you can probably put NV blue in the map and possibly AZ red. Was listening to a podcast this morning where strategists from both sides suggested the time investment to compete in those two western states given they probably are each candidates strongest/weakest state means the other 5 may see more visits and almost be worth punting more visits. Especially given the relative number of EVs in NV. NV likely comes into play only in scenarios where Trump trades off NC or GA for blue wall states not named PA -

Updated Bovada odds: Trump -160 Harris +135 Vig adjusted pretty much 3:2 now. Nevada has gone blue in latest Trafalgar poll and GA first early vote day I didn’t like for Trump. But someone thinks he’s leading, money keeps coming in. I’ve learned in the past to listen to the money. Arizona does look good for Trump though. -

Now are these $20K forgiveable loans, handouts, separate from the reparations she wants to look at or in addition to? I mean this is going to be a windfall for some folks. That "fair share" is getting bigger by the day. -

That's not exactly what happened. He answered questions, I was watching it. There were some medical emergencies, caused a long pause. He basically ended it early and it was awkward for sure, but not what some have played it up to be. -

Trump has eased up to implied odds of -135 at Bovada. This equates to roughly 4:3 or about 57%. The highest either side has been in awhile. Time will tell if he can grow this out to 60% or even 2:1 odds. -

I think 4 she wins, 3 is iffy likely a degree of is it 3.4 or 2.5, 2 or less is Trump. I’m not sure where the line is and how much shifts in states already decided will change that overall number. While Trump has taken the slight lead in all the upper Midwest state betting markets, they are all correlated so it’s not like she has to win 3 individual coin flips to win them all. If the vote moves 2 points in one, it likely lock steps in the others pretty closely. I’ll be interested to see polling in the next week or so to see if what’s being discussed online comes to pass on the shifts. Not just in the rust belt but in NC and GA. Also I’d guess NC has gotten much harder to poll now. -

One last post and then I'll get off the side track. It's also MUCH harder to do in current days because unless you are in a high limit room, most casinos especially in Las Vegas are 6:5 payouts on blackjack. If you do that and restrict what I can split and double, they'll let me count all day because I can't beat that game. You have to find a 3:2 table. The tourists have no idea how much that change made to their odds. At first it was single deck games that went to 6:5, now you just can't find any game other than high limit double deck. And of course in the high limit game you have all eyes on you and every move. So if you want to count today, best of luck. Harder odds, and as you said earlier, watchful eyes.
