You and I were taught and have perhaps experienced very different economics lessons. $25K by it's very design is to increase demand, in a vacuum that increases prices. There is no offset to this plan that I've seen. If it doesn't have some kind of other demand dampening effect, then it's going to take a housing recession to not be so. However, no matter the economic climate, prices especially in starter homes will be higher than they would be otherwise if it comes to pass. I'm as sure of that economic reality as I am that the sun is going to come up in the morning. -

What could possibly go wrong? Surely not more inflation. -
This is like cheering for David Duke. I mean you can do it, but it is kinda hard to forget when someone does.

Just a couple posts ago you mentioned any Republican not Trump would win this election. I think you were right then. Luntz is not right on this even though largely I like to listen to his opinions and analysis. This train is the desire to see anyone other than Trump or Biden run. The campaign is right to keep her in the freezer. She’s still wrapped in the plastic coating so the longer they don’t let her get in front of any off script interviews the better off they are because nothing can go wrong. She’s the shiny object that the uninformed don’t know much about and just know she isn’t Trump or Biden. I was no fan of Obama’s policies, but he was a political force we don’t see come along very often. There wasn’t anyone who was going to beat him. Bill Clinton was another. -

It’s baffling to me. Granted I come from a state that gave us Roy Moore. Why the AZ party seems hell bent on losing with Lake rather than winning with anyone else I can’t figure out. Every time I see her she looks like she’s airbrushed like a 1987 Topps baseball card. -

I can’t argue that the goal of her campaign is to key in on the feel good nature of her as opposed to Trump. And it’s clearly working so far. I think if it comes down to policy that Trump wins. But by keeping her from taking direct questions it keeps the narrative off of policy and more on the feeling. I don’t think it’s wise to pick a President that way, but people don’t always vote for the same reasons. I also feel she’s very much a liberal. She wasn’t lying about her stances on policy in the past. Like Trump she picked someone in line with her views by selecting Walz. They are far from what I want in charge of the country but I admit they may well win as it stands today. From my stance it’s fortunate the Senate map is what it is. Having Kari Lake on the ballot yet again in AZ is a problem though for both the Senate and for President. Talk about someone people don’t like, Trump runs nearly 10 points ahead of her in some polling I’ve seen. Most times the coattails run down ticket. But she seems so unpopular in AZ she might drive more people to the polls just to vote against her. She has all of the Trump minuses without the record, showmanship, humor, and quips -

Maybe, but their voting for an image of her that they have more than anything they have heard her say or know. We have really no idea what she stands for. Is she the Medicare for All person or is she not? Fracking, yay or nay? She's been on one side, now we are hearing she's on the other of some of these issues. What's funny is, she hasn't told us. It's obvious they don't want her having to give answers on the fly. That's not a slam, it's smart on the part of her campaign and handlers because it's working and at least for now the press isn't pushing her on it. Let's not pretend she's some great orator and she's bringing people in that way. People were hungry for anything but the two folks we had running, and for now she is that stand in. Maybe she makes it to the finish line without having to be more, I don't know. -

I had some neighbors like that on some of my rural property. The redistributed my granddad's air conditioner and items from his house during his funeral. -

I've always liked listening to Van Jones and heard from people who have been around him he's a nice guy. I rarely agree with him on policy type issues, but he's genuine in his beliefs and he articulates his feelings well. He's not one to speak in hyperbole, and that's kind of rare these days. He also tells the truth as he sees it, even when it's not to the left's benefit. Good for him for admitting the issue. It's obvious Harris or needs to win both PA and MI, and it appears she or whoever is running the campaign calculated that taking the W in PA would put MI at risk. I don't know if that is right or wrong, but it's pretty apparent. -

As someone pulling for Trump, I'm happy with this pick. I'll spare everyone the declarative statements that I know how this will work out, but to me Shapiro was the clear choice to add a moderating voice and help in Pennsylvania. Trump was never going to win Minnesota, even though it's gotten closer. From what little I know of him, he is definitely to the left of Shapiro and will be easier to hang the too extreme tag on Harris as a result. If Trump can win GA and PA he wins. Harris needs PA, but couldn't risk MI either, and the MI component of this shouldn't be ignored. -

He's who I would pick if I were her. Just as Trump can't afford to lose GA, Harris can't afford to lose PA. -

We will see. They said they wouldn't, and it was part of what was hurting Biden in the polling that pushed him out. We will find out soon who she picks. It's pretty clear Shapiro is the way to go unless she fears losing their vote. Her selection will speak to what she's being told inside the party. -

Shapiro to win PA makes all the electoral sense in the world unless she's afraid picking someone Jewish will lose too many Arab votes in Michigan. It's not even subtle, John King openly said as much on CNN, and he's right. -
Yeah, these initial shock wave days are rarely the end of the turbulence. Perilous to ever try to call a bottom or predict more losses, but the issues that caused this fear aren't going away tomorrow.

Turmoil in overseas markets tonight. We will see what the follow through is tomorrow here in the U.S. Right now Harris benefits from status quo. Who knows how bad it will be and if it has follow through or dissipates. But sustained market turmoil you'd imagine would benefit Trump. -

The whole interchange between Stephanopoulos and Byron Donalds was hilarious this morning. That line of questioning is the whole issue right now the Trump campaign faces. Harris is essentially in the basement like Biden was. She still hasn't even faced an interview, much less any challenging questions. She's right now just a mirage because we don't really know what she would do under tough questioning. But the media wants to frame the narrative around the race question and those type ridiculous things versus the actual policies. It dominated that Donalds interview. When it comes to Kamala, who knows where she stands? I've heard now she's pro fracking when before she was against it. I know she was for Medicare for All, now supposedly she isn't. But it's really hard to know. But if they can get away with it, she may well win, so I can't blame them for keeping her hidden. None of us, even those in her own party, really know where she stands. She just isn't Trump. -

Who says it's his plan? He specifically said it wasn't. I know what it is and who is involved. I also know Trump has never been one to pull punches so he doesn't hurt feelings or offend those who don't agree with him. So in this instance, for some reason, he's throwing a curveball and this is secret plan? I'm just making sure I have it right. You know, the one left talking point I never argued with is that he boned the porn star, isn't really a religious guy, etc. They have that right, he's no altar boy and he isn't reading the bible every night. I assume you agree with those takes. But if you do, now you suddenly also believe he would want to install some kind of oppressive regime that outlaws pornography and things like that at the risk of losing what would be a majority of his supporters. Which if you believe he is out for himself or is only true to his own beliefs, why do you believe he would want to install that kind of policy? Those two things aren't compatible. -

His policies are simply better. It’s not close for me between him and Harris. Just as you feel like I have no justification, I feel the same way about you voting for Harris. I think her policies are morally wrong and dangerous for our country. This isn’t a one way street and it’s not personal for me, but that’s factually where we are. For lack of a better term, no “side” has a monopoly on feeling they are morally right. And that’s why the divide. The sides are gonna hate each other four years from now, perhaps more so than now. -

The divide in America has much more to it than Donald Trump. He's merely someone who saw an opening to give the message. -

So he's scared if he doesn't show up to the terms that the D candidate wants, but the person who hasn't taken an interview here in the past two weeks since she's been the de-facto nominee isn't scared because she may not want to show up to the debate under the terms the R candidate wants. You can't have it both ways. Either it should be renegotiated or each should get a debate to set the terms. -

Fine, if a debate is a debate just let Harris show up to the Fox one. That way everyone is happy. Will she?
