Oakland gas station ransacked by over 70 thugs. Police respond - 9 HOURS LATER!

Nah I was just kidding, it's fine. Actually that area produces some extremely good baseball players. Lots of state titles and MLB players have come out of there in the past 30 years or so. You would have to deal with the occasional rural meth head. I grew up in a similar area. Usually a warning shot does it for those guys. -

Knowing where Falkville is, I wouldn't stay there very long without that same backup in weaponry. -

Has anyone started the squares pool on when Joe is going to be forced out? We may need to have each day split into AM/PM. Unfortunately for him, democracy really was on the ballot and just winning the majority of the delegates isn't gonna work out. -

We have idiots running around outdoors here with the masks still on. Granted not too many, but it makes me realize they are mentally compromised. My all time favorite was looking beside me at a traffic light and seeing a woman in her car by herself with the mask on. -

You're not kidding. Think of all these healthcare costs that are debated that we could save. -

This one along with inflation is why Biden was trailing Trump even before the debate. -
Hope so man. I have a buddy in CA who was better off than anyone I know well, got took for seven figures by a business he was invested in. State of CA is prosecuting him, he’s suing, all that good stuff. But I suspect like with most thieves when it comes crashing down there’s nothing really left. He’s most likely going to jail just may not do as much time out there as he would do where I live.

Agreed. Clyburn has already put the marker down saying she should not be bypassed. Identity politics requires it. They have way better candidates than Harris but she is going to be the replacement, in the 80% likelihood that Biden drops out.

Biden and Harris are now both +550. Roughly 2/3 likelihood for Trump, 1/6 each for Biden and Harris individually. -
Not tons of times, but a few. Mostly middle school. Only got one in HS. 9th grade year we were shooting in the gym and the rule was when coach blew the whistle you hit the locker room. I made the mistake of launching a 3 after the whistle, he yells as it's released "you miss it that's 3 licks", the damn ball rattled out.

I grew up in a county where peaches were the main crop and have never heard of this. I can tell you though, working in those fields for a summer job in the July heat picking those things is no fun at all.

It's going to get worse as more polls come out. People running down the ballot don't want to be sacrificed if they think it's going to be a blowout. Representatives and eventually some in the Senate will likely continue to come out and call for him to step aside. The fact he still hasn't fielded live questions makes me think the ability of him to do so is wishful thinking more than reality. It will have to go way beyond some softballs from Stephanopoulos as well. Bovada has been moving away from Biden and more toward Harris all day. The numbers for a general election win are now Biden +425 and Harris +700. Trump is now down to -185, which vig adjusted is probably a 70% favorite over the field. -

We will see. It just really feels to me like the train is already rolling. He does have to go along to make it happen, but I think enormous pressure is going to be brought to bear. The leaks of what Obama is telling people, what Whitmer is telling people, suddenly now Clyburn is saying he would back Harris should she take over and Biden step aside, etc, etc. All of that isn't one big accident in my view. He may not acquiesce to it, but I think the pressure is going to get turned up a bit. He could be done prior to the interview, or could use it to step aside. It appears now Harris is already polling better against Trump than he is. All speculation obviously but it seems that the media has turned on him and there's no walking back things that have been said. -

It just feels to me that steam has picked up even more this evening for Biden to be thrown overboard. My best guess would be for Kamala Harris at this point but who knows. I think the identity politics issue for the Dems is going to force their hand there though. They can lose with Kamala just as easily as they can with Biden and it checks that box for those who are keeping score. At this point I think she has a better chance than Biden anyway. -

Him not taking questions tonight may be the equivalent of throwing in the towel. I don't get what the plan is for Biden if he isn't even going to try and field questions. The problem isn't just going to go away. -
Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”
Mark Davis replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I honestly don't know that answer. I've read differing opinions, not shockingly depending on the side of the author. I've seen a few crossing that line in their opinions but given that I don't really know enough about the law in that area to have an opinion, I'd have to look at it more before I would feel comfortable. -

Impeachment going forward is a political tool one party is using against the other. Sooner or later they'll figure out it only helps the other party. I'm not arguing in favor of the current state, but that's just the way it is. -

Perhaps it's a decision the court revisits in the future if some of the more severe examples you cited come about. I'm no attorney, all I know about is some of the basic law classes I took in college. However, I think in today's environment where every decision is seen as partisan, we diminish the standing of the court and perhaps we may need it as a safeguard to our own viewpoints down the road. In my view most people have lost sight of this, whether the decision of the day is in our favor or not. -

We agree for once, about reactions and how it would play on either side. I think you have to give the President leeway in able to take actions, specifically military strikes where innocents or collateral damage can occur. It's hard to ever know intent. It's a serious issue and it's a difficult one, but impossible in today's partisan environment. It's always dependent on which person is looking at it as "my side". -

Surprised they trotted him out there like that, yes I was. But was I shocked that Biden is mentally incompetent, no. And it’s honestly sad. I stand by that he isn’t running the show at the White House. How could he be? I have been honest this whole time. If you were shocked by last night, you haven’t been honest with yourself.
-
Maybe now we can dispatch with all the cheap fake claim nonsense. It was right before our eyes the entire time. Anyone shocked by last night needs to question how they allowed themselves to not believe what was there for all to see.
-
Biden is no longer fit to be president. Last night’s debate exposed the lies we’ve been told.

Same. I voted for Gary Johnson in ‘16 but Trump in ‘20
