Is it possible? I guess. If I were weighing odds I'd say that's well below 10%. He could be a Lincoln Project guy I guess. There aren't tons of those running around though. The much more plausible line is he voted Republican to vote against Trump in the primary because he felt he was a threat to our republic and he acted in this homicidal way because he has believed the steady diet of comparisons to Hitler and threat to our democracy. If you believe that, I mean truly believe it and not in the hyperbolic way, why should we be surprised? Wouldn't someone who had acted on Hitler in the 30s been in the right? That's the danger of the rhetoric.

I've seen it reported tonight after doubt was first cast. It's also just as likely, if not more so, he was on the left and indeed donate to the progressive group and registered as Republican to vote against Trump in PA's closed primary.

I actually think you're right on this. There is hardly any moveable votes left. It may entrench Trump's intensity. But it's hard to imagine Trump voters could be more energized than they already were, so this is probably only a fraction of a percentage change. I really don't think much can happen right now to change the numbers. Both sides hate the other so much there's no way they are going to change their vote. Maybe apathy leads to some staying home, but I see hardly anyone changing their vote. I think Trump is the huge favorite because even if he's a 1-2 point favorite in the popular vote, his EC advantage tends to be greater. It's possible some of the changes in demographic support has shifted that correlation, but so far in battleground state polling it seems to at least be as strong of a correlation as it was before. One thing I do think that has changed is I think this runs the clock out on the Dems replacing Biden. I felt before it was only a matter of time. I think now this prevents them from moving against him for at least a short period of time, but that may run the clock out on them replacing him. So the one thing I feel this may have changed is the likelihood Biden is on the ballot in November.

Guessing that’s the bystander at this point

I found it confirmed, I believe the Butler PA DA.

I found a video of the troopers lifting a lifeless body out behind a railing by its limbs. Given the way they were treating it, my guess would be the shooter

Of course it wasn't, it's how deluded their minds are with Trump. Some of them are fairly intelligent people. People live in their safe media bubbles these days and they believe these crazy things even when the truth unravels right before their eyes. I try to listen to as many different sources as I can these days, even those I don't agree with. When people crawl into that cocoon to only validate their feelings, they lose track of reality.

Reports from Chad Pegram saying people in the crowd were hit

The people I know furthest to the left aren't celebrating but they are claiming this was a stunt and staged.

It's astounding you see Trump's rhetoric as dangerous, but fail to connect the "Hitler" and "threat to our democracy" language as being capable of inciting homicidal aspirations in those that listen to that hyperbolic rhetoric.

If someone did that, they are the dumbest SOB ever born because I feel it likely that popping you heard after he was on the ground was the Secret Service making swiss cheese out of their internal organs
-
I would assume the pops you hear after Trump is down and covered is the Secret Service taking out the trash who did it.

I'm not surprised by this.

Didn't realize the President of Finland is such a big fan of Trump

Anyone is making a mistake if they want to try the Finns. The Soviets found out the hard way just prior to WWII. -
How Many Push Ups Can You Do At One Time ?
Mark Davis replied to BeenHereBefore's topic in The Geek Club
When I got a bad cholesterol report a few years ago even though I was slender/athletic I went 6 months without not one bite of a fried food or dessert. Along with that I started doing push ups daily. I realized quick that just because I wasn't fat I wasn't in the best shape. I pulled off another 25 lbs and got really lean but still had to do a statin. I kept doing the pushups daily for a couple years until I hurt my back doing them. If you can do 25-30 in a setting you're in pretty good shape, way better than most. I was in decent basketball playing shape until my second daughter was born and I gave up playing. A couple years had passed before I started the cleaning up my diet and doing push ups. It took me awhile to build up to doing that level of 25-30. I found out cardio shape and push up shape are different things. My back is the part of me that hurts the worst now when I tweak it from exercise at 50 years old. I walk and jog a lot now. I'm going to try to get back into the push ups but time to time it will tweak your back if you have any back issues. -
Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

Transitory means a short term, I'd have loosely defined it as a year or less. Here is Janet Yellen saying she regretted that term, even stating it generally meant even a shorter term, and that she was in fact incorrect: https://thehill.com/business/4529787-yellen-regrets-saying-inflation-transitory/ You have to remember the time of it all. Largely they used that term because it was the supply chain disruption they viewed as driving most all of it. Over time they expected that to work out and largely subside, perhaps reduce to close to the original factor. It luckily has slowed, but took much longer than anticipated and has remained sticky well above that 3% target rate. I hope we can get to that 3% rate again, but we aren't there. The Fed would have loved to already have cut rates, but inflation unfortunately has been persistent above that. -

Short term I agree it would be a good thing. I think originally as Covid wound down some economists expected short term negative inflation data along with the "transitory" claim about inflation. As we found out, it wasn't transitory. Short term getting a negative rate could be good. Longer term we need to be focused on being at that 2-3% rate. I hope these signals are showing that maybe we are getting closer to that. Unfortunately even with elevated interest rates we haven't reduced inflation to that run rate just yet. -

You don't hit an inside the park HR against Randy Johnson without consequences.

To me the Toronto park will always be SkyDome. I got to go up and see it during it's first full year in 1990 even though they played some of 1989 there. I missed a no hitter by one night, the game before we arrived Dave Stewart threw a no hitter for the A's. That same night, Valenzuela threw one for the Dodgers. -

Patrisse Cullors is wanting this to happen -
My wife is a teacher and she's had it pretty good but is ready to retire when she can in a few years. Our youngest daughter right now claims she wants to be a teacher, I'm going to do my best to discourage that.

You realize that this reads, "If only the public were as smart as me, the guy I like would be winning". And while you can believe that, I admit I often have low regard for the general public at times, it's horrible political messaging. I think the Democrats have come across this way a good bit recently. I disagree with your statement in general, but to be as mild as I can be, your guy sucks on immigration. The public knows that, and while age and inflation are eating his candidacy up, even if he survives the age thing he was already behind because of immigration. I know you like open borders and unlimited immigration, but the average American doesn't. It's really that simple, and it's why Biden was already behind. The age thing just was tossing an anchor to an already drowning man. -

Over Biden yes, but I didn’t vote for Trump in the primary either. But I would because we’ve seen the policies of the people running things for Biden, and no I don’t believe he’s in charge. I would absolutely trust Burgum or Rubio more than the Biden administration. -
That's true. It's also true that Trump openly stated that, prior to the 2016 election.
