We all do crazy stuff for our kids activities. I just drove 4 hours last night instead of driving with my wife the day before just so my daughter didn’t miss one of her practices.

If Biden doesn’t step aside we likely have seen the last debate. Why would Trump want to even bother with that again? If undecideds or soft Biden supporters don’t stay home or switch votes after last night then they aren’t persuadable. Trump has nothing else to gain.

Maybe he won't, but I find it hard to believe he continues. Surely the man would listen to his wife, President Obama, President Clinton. I pray that my wife would step in and stop this if it were me. I've been very up front saying I want Trump to win and honestly the best path to that is Biden staying in. But surely someone will put a stop to this. The man should be allowed to enjoy the rest of his life instead of being rolled out there and have this type scene continue. If he goes on they are going to be forced to put him in public more and is there any real doubt more of these scenes will occur? It's obvious now he shouldn't have ran, I don't think the Democrats want to just punt this election, now the question is can they get Biden to step aside and then what do they do?

Just checking in. I'm watching it now for the video but had to listen to it on the radio on a drive out of state. It sounded really bad on radio, seems like it was worse with picture from all the analysis I'm seeing. I listened to Van Jones on the radio tonight. He just sounded downtrodden. Not for the state of the Biden campaign, but for Biden the man. I know everyone is doubting he will step aside, but surely those who are close to him will stop this for his own good. It was sad, and I was honestly sorry for the man. It really just makes me wonder, who is truly calling the shots. I've wondered it before and been ridiculed for that, but this guy isn't thinking through and implementing policy. Shame on those who have tried to hide this from the country.

Apparently in Bowman's speech tonight he says he's going to continue to fight the "evils of capitalism". Add that to him carrying water for Hamas and that tells me all I need to know about him. Good riddance.

There was a story for awhile out there that Matt Gaetz was moving here to run for Richard Shelby's seat when he retired. I don't think he would have won, but I admit it wasn't anything I could dismiss out of hand.

I'm having to see my 21 year old niece this weekend. Taking my wife and kids to see about my in-laws who aren't in great health so she will be around. I try my best to keep my daughters away from her best I can. No gender issues, just laziness, victimhood (amazing since my in-laws paid for her to attend a private school), and poor life choices. She's a real joy to be around and an overall drain on society.

I would seek psychological help for them if it were someone in my family. I realize everyone may not agree with me but I feel that we are treating something that is an absolute, whether you have XX chromosomes or XY chromosomes, as something fluid because it's easier to just go along than to address the issue. If my daughter started seeing people in the room who weren't really there, I'd seek help for her. I view this as no different.

I agree with you. You can treat someone with common decency and respect without aiding a delusion. It's not an either/or situation so that if you don't totally comply to that delusion that you are actively mistreating them. If anything I think we mistreat them by turning a blind eye to their illness rather than trying to help.

I'm expecting it if Trump wins.

Yeah, it's just all noise. Anyone who wants 8:1 and they take Trump no shows I got whatever amount they want.

He had let them know a few days earlier he wasn't going to be able to attend. They pretty much knew it was unlikely all along I think but were hoping. I live in B'ham, was down around the park and with the MLB/team folks the past two days. It was an odd event because in most cities you obviously have a home team, visiting team, and the TV folks are typically just the home/away ones. In this case you had two teams, Fox broadcasters/production, all kinds of people in for the softball game, the old Negro league players, etc. They had everyone spread out over 5 hotels across the area rather than just one center of activity, or even two if you have a neutral site location. They had the Giants in one hotel, Cardinals in another, Fox production had another, MLB put the Negro leaguers and their own office folks in another, then most of the celebrity softball people stayed in yet another hotel that is in a suburb and new. They had courtesy SUV's everywhere to shuttle everyone to the museum, the ballpark, etc. The Giants hotel was about 20 miles away. Neither team actually stayed in the city itself. A lot of the announcers stayed where the Giants did because there's a really nice golf course there as well.

Clark has made that league massive money between merchandising and ticket sales. The Hawks used to give away lots of Atlanta Dream tickets if you were a season ticket holder. I used to try to sell those things for a few bucks and it was easier just to let them expire unused. The NBA has been subsidizing losses for a long time, they need to capitalize on this marketing chance they have. It's a no win situation for her though because everyone wants to make it political, whether it's for or against her, and it just leads to more pressure and resentment from other players. I don't think she wants to make any kind of political statement but the push/pull of this in the political arena is forcing these issues on her unfortunately.

Iowa is a presumed Trump state, but the margins if this is close to accurate is positive for Trump in the rust belt. Hard to imagine all of those being blue if Iowa is this red. Try public speaking sometime. Look, you believe what you believe. I'm not trying to convince you. You told me the other day that you saw no difference in Biden's speech clips from four years ago compared with today. I believe you believe that, but it's not what I see. Trump has his flaws, I'm not making excuses for him. I didn't vote for him in the primary. But you shouldn't allow your bias to delude your senses. You probably think the same of me, and that's fine. I'm not upset by that, I just believe you're quite wrong.

You mean the very first one that was in black and white? We've had a few since then. I'm old and I wasn't even alive when the one happened you're referencing.

I'm not surprised you think that. But this is a significant departure from what the past has been, by the statement above you are implying it benefits Biden to have this fairly significant change, yet you deem this as fair. It's pretty obvious the Trump folks weren't the ones who demanded this change. We've really lowered the bar here to not even have candidates who can answer questions in front of a crowd. Maybe Tapper can give Biden the questions in advance so he can have his note cards made by someone on staff on how to answer.
