Derek Chauvin, convicted in George Floyd’s killing, stabbed in prison
Mark Davis replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
Meanwhile Darren Wilson is in hiding but he was damn close to being another one sacrificed at the altar. No biggie, they just put him in hiding for the rest of his life. That is, if they don't try and railroad him down the road. They've already looked at reopening the case a couple years ago. -
This actually makes me more worried they'll push forward to shift the focus and try to drum up nationalistic support.

Kansas City Chiefs Fan vs The Woke Mob
Mark Davis replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
This kind of mentality is why we have a weak society today. -
How about we just cede Oakland to those fools and build a wall around it. It would likely have a better effect than even the wall at the southern border would. I felt brain cells dying listening to some of the speeches that were cheered in that meeting.

The difference is those college students hadn't had it taught to them since birth to hate South Vietnam or people of a race. They hadn't been taught it was proper to rape their women and young daughters and kill them in any brutal manner possible. Such a society that does so is evil and rotten at its core. That's not denying there are some decent people there who do not feel this way, but they are the minority. But you can't fix people who have been taught from day one these things. It's just another example of why we should be unashamedly proud of Western culture and civilization. We are superior in this way and it's why people want to come here. We should stop apologizing for that or being ashamed of our imperfections. Our system and our past are truly better than the others and it's time we quit apologizing for it and recognize it.

[** Official President Joe Biden Thread **]
Mark Davis replied to Rusty Syringes's topic in The Geek Club
I only want to know if Biden is going to resurrect Jim Eagle now that MLB and that scumbag Rob Manfred finally moved an All Star Game back to Atlanta. Shockingly black turnout was up in Georgia and MLB bending the knee to the mob was over nothing. -
If only we could count on some sentences like happened to others for injuring the Capitol Police.

It's part of the Marxist lens to view things as oppressed and oppressors.

The barbarians are at the gate

Interesting you are projecting Marxism toward those on the right given what we are seeing in the streets around the globe. Now I grant you those on the fringe right probably have some things in common with those folks. In this case though, it's not those on the right accusing Biden of genocide, who speak in terms of oppressed, oppressors, and colonizers, and perhaps worst of all are speaking of how evil Western culture is and our capitalist system. Those people in the streets should be thankful for Western civilization and values, most would jail and/or execute them for taking to the streets as they have. They want that freedom and tolerance for themselves, but would be all too happy to take it away from those who they disagree with because they hate our system and what it stands for.

There's a reason Egypt wouldn't take that territory today and it has nothing to do with topography. I don't think the Egyptians are Islamophobes either.

There's a difference between someone saying deport them all and those calling for deporting foreign visa holders who support Hamas. I'm 100% behind deporting any foreign national who was involved in breaking the law, damaging property, etc. like went on at Grand Central Station or who is part of intimidation and violence against students on campuses.
-
A lot has to do with the location where it occurs. I'm wondering how long we are going to tolerate the things like occurred at Grand Central Station tonight. Property damage, police locking themselves inside, we should be arresting everyone causing damage and making threats. If those committing criminal acts aren't citizens, send them on their way.

I get the feeling she would be fun too

Just different times. I'd have either knocked that guy out after class or got knocked out myself during those years. Someone would have gotten laid out, even if it were me.

If you do rentals you are essentially leveraging yourself. It can be profitable but in this interest rate environment it certainly is more risky. I own rental properties and have a bit of experience in both college rentals and small single family units and one vacation property. I would say if you are considering this, you must pair it with buying your own home. It's not a consistent strategy to rent your primary residence but purchase properties to rent to others. The main reason is overhead and the simple fact that others won't care for your property as you would. Your best return on average will be your own residence for that reason and the differential in maintenance, repairs, vacancies, etc. When it comes to mutual funds, just remember the disclaimer past performance has no bearing on future results. I think we may be out of the long term double digit returns there, but that's just an opinion.

The most concerning part of all this isn't that people are speaking about things that Israel is doing wrong or could do better. All that is fine and people can have different opinions. What is problematic is all the morons who are chanting "From the River to the Sea" and openly supporting Hamas. One can argue that they are too stupid to get the true meaning of that I guess but if that's the case it's even more concerning that people that clueless are still motivated to action in such a way. We have a much stronger undercurrent of Marxism and hatred of Western culture in this country than I thought. That to me is way more concerning long term than anything a foreign military is capable of doing to us.

CNN constantly running the negative Biden polls tonight. You can tell they are really trying to push for Biden to step aside.

No, and I was an adult before I even realized that Truman's decisions there were questioned seriously. As someone who had a dad in the Philippines that would have had to be part of the invasion force for mainland Japan, I'm thankful President Truman didn't have such reservations.

Good thing that social media wasn't around during WWII. The Nazi's would have feasted on it with their propaganda. We inflicted horrible tolls on the citizens of Japan and Germany in WWII. War tends to do that, and unless you are fighting a vastly weaker opponent in open and sparsely populated areas, civilian losses are going to happen. You can tell we have a population who hasn't had to deal with those realities, that generation is almost completely gone.
-
That's my take. Consider what would happen if one side unilaterally laid down their weapons. The Palestinians would continue to exist, perhaps even find a governing authority to help them move forward and have better lives. The Israelis would be slaughtered and wiped off the map. It's pretty much an unsolvable puzzle though given the radicalization of kids there. When that's done from such a young age, there's not a lot of hope for salvaging the populace.
-
This is true. I agree Israel should do all they can to eradicate Hamas but it doesn't mean anyone better is coming to power. Israel doesn't want to govern that place, and let's be honest that Egypt and/or Jordan want no part of it either. And I mean that in either governance or taking their people in as refugees. Kids are radicalized from early ages, the entire area is full of radicals that is essentially ungovernable short of a strongman.
