This is true. I agree Israel should do all they can to eradicate Hamas but it doesn't mean anyone better is coming to power. Israel doesn't want to govern that place, and let's be honest that Egypt and/or Jordan want no part of it either. And I mean that in either governance or taking their people in as refugees. Kids are radicalized from early ages, the entire area is full of radicals that is essentially ungovernable short of a strongman.

The damn MAGA folks tried to storm the WH tonight. Yelling F Joe Biden over and over.

You know damn well we don’t protect borders.

It's really the only way the left views people. Whether it's college admissions, hiring, or victimhood of groups to excuse their activities. Those are all from the left.

They have a home in the young liberal crowd. When it came to BLM it's now pretty apparent they were accepting of the whole mantra, complete with the Marxism. Everything is now about race and the oppressed/oppressor. The end result in that kind of thinking is swirling the toilet bowl where no society ever can pay enough for the grievances of the oppressed. Israel is the oppressor here, and now even wanting to eliminate all Jews is acceptable to them. That's the type thinking we have been allowing to take hold.

Just those terms and ones like "colonizers". It's basically language to try and portray ones own country as what is wrong in the world and wrong in history. No country has done more for the betterment of the world in its history than the United States. Our country hasn't been perfect. But it's a dangerous view to allow to fester unchecked that somehow all these global ills track back to the West.
-
Haha I've been called a lot of things, but rarely liberal. I demand an apology.

I actually thought the right had gone too far with worrying about the woke nonsense. But seeing what we are now, this language and the use of these terms are essentially just Marxist views that I had really written off. I had thought the characterization of campuses was a bit overdone, woke nonsense but nothing that harmful. But it appears we have a bunch of Marxist nutjobs running loose out there on a lot of these campuses. Also they have a naive view of what war is. I'm nearing 50 and I can only comprehend it from what my dad's views were that shaped him in WWII. War isn't clean and pretty, it isn't always precision strikes and civilians die. To think otherwise and to try and hold Israel or the U.S. to those standards in dense urban areas is foolish. It can't be done that way in densely populated areas.

Maybe we should start a sponsorship program. I know I'd chip in to pay for some of their tickets out of my own pocket.

I'm wondering how long it is before President El-Sisi is labeled an Islamophobe for not wanting the Palestinians coming into Egypt. It's either he is a raving Islamophobe, or he realizes how radicalized that populace has become.

Apparently some fuel has gotten into Gaza as they have plenty to fuel all these rockets being launched. The view that if we let fuel in those hospitals would get it is fanciful. Fuel is already there, Hamas has just commandeered it all

They don't want a real fight. Their idea of a fight is being in a crowd and terrorizing smaller groups or individuals. The second it got one on one and someone threw a punch and drew their blood they would fold faster than you can imagine.

I heard people suggesting things like this, I don't see it happening. I'd be stunned if any D voted for anyone other than Jeffires. There's no political reason for them to bail out the R's here and let's be honest, that's all either side is about is getting reelected. For people like Matt Rosendale, this boosts him up to sure up the base in that MT Senate primary.

The problem is those 8 decided they didn't want McCarthy. The same core group was against someone like Scalise. Now in response, the more moderate members are standing against the further right candidates like Jordan. I think this goes on until some triggering incident occurs but if they want to empower McHenry they should just make him speaker and move on. These guys are bigger divas than the actresses on Desperate Housewives.
-
There's a lot of truth to that, but as a whole when it comes to leadership votes the D's wield power over their members to keep them in line. Republican leadership tends to try and bend to accommodate, Democratic leadership tends to punish those who fall out of line. That's been my view at the least. Maybe that past action wouldn't change where they are today but while I agree with the R's far more than the D's these days, this was an error from those 8 worthy of being placed on the short bus. I get that Gaetz wants to run for governor and this has a lot to do with getting his name out there. I think he's the one way the R's could lose that race even with FL trending more and more red.
-
Why would you assume this? I don't think there's anyone that can get 217. The Republican Party itself is broken. I agree with Nancy Pelosi on almost nothing, but she could keep the kooks in the squad in line as well as more moderate members such as Spanberger, etc. The Republicans seem to all want to be able to call audibles at the line. That's actually a good thing when it comes to voting on bills and forming their own opinion, it's extremely stupid when trying to select leadership and paralyzing your party.

It doesn't solve the long term problem. But to not try and kill everyone involved with Hamas invites more deadly attacks. While I agree with you this does not solve the long term problem, you also are seeing the results globally now from perceived weakness from the US, Nato, the West as a whole, etc. Whether the weakness is real or perceived is insignificant, Iran certainly seems emboldened. Honestly I'd rather see the Israelis take out their nuclear sites if they have that capability than to just hit Hamas.
-
Let me pose this question, and I don't know the answer to it. At what age do we draw the line for innocents on the Hamas side? It's pretty well documented that in Gaza that young children are indoctrinated from an early age to hate Israel. These kids are growing up in such a poisonous environment they really have no shot to be anything but extremists. We don't have the authority in that area to tell people how to raise their children. However, they are raising extremists. At what age do we draw the line and say they are not salvageable? I don't know the answer. I feel certain there were plenty of what would be considered minors in the U.S. who participated in those terrorist acts.

Joran van der Sloot confesses to killing Natalee Holloway...
Mark Davis replied to posty's topic in The Geek Club
I've met her mom. Nice lady. I hope this gives her some closure. Honestly though I doubt even this "confession" is the truth. This guy's story changes every time he tells it about every facet of anything he's ever done. -
I know I feel good about forgiving debt to Hamas sympathizers at these universities
-
McHenry, indefinitely
-
That one I think is definitely deliberate. Anyone with half a brain knew that it was at least 50/50 Hamas did this, whether accidentally or intentionally. The fact that people are in the streets at our embassy and that part of the world is in uproar over this shows there is no winning there. The US or Israel is the enemy even if their own neighbor kills them somehow one or the other is to blame.
-
She's either really stupid, or intentionally misleading. I'm guessing the latter because she's shilled people into putting her into that seat so it can't be all stupidity.
-
I saw that as well. Shocking that so few could see that coming.
