Any point holding on to Ty Chandler now? On the chance Mattison loses the job and Akers still flops (they’ve not exactly got much invested in him to give him a long leash). Who’d be another RB handcuff/lottery ticket you’d want?
-
Ouch. 16 teams is rough. I’m in a 14-team league and thought that was tough. You gotta roll with what you’ve got and hope your bench players get more playing time or fall into starting roles

Arizona is tanking this year for sure

Well it would be pretty pointless to tank when you don’t have a first round pick. -

Speaking as an Arizona fan, that’s not a tanking team. They’ve played hard two weeks and should be 2-0. First week fell apart because the offense wasn’t ready (Dobbs had only had a few practices), this week he looked way better and the defense played hard but they are lacking talent and missed their best defensive player. The offensive play calling got way too conservative, and the defense was gassed. They’re undermanned, it happens. But Jonathan Gannon and his young co-ordinators have 100% changed the culture. Might not get much better this year but with 12 picks next year the future looks bright. Not to forget, there are some young pieces to build around with rookie draft picks paying off already. Paris Johnson Jr is a stud (O-line kept Dobbs completely clean yesterday, 0 sacks), Wilson the WR looks good for a 3rd rounder and Kei’trel Clark the 6th round CB had a brilliant game. -
Fields played a whole 3 quarters more than Richardson and still finished with fewer points in standard leagues
-
That’s about the fifth or sixth time by my counting you’ve made that point. It’s a fair point, but there are people in this thread actually looking for advice on what to do with Pitts moving forwards, not be repeatedly told by you they made a mistake drafting him.
-
If you drafted Pitts (like I did) you can only do two things. Try to trade him to a TE-needy team on name value alone. Or keep rolling with him. He has huge upside but unfortunately his profile as a deeper target makes him a risk. Maybe the Falcons work out how to use him and try to feed him more targets. Or you can sit him and play a La Porta type but risk missing out on the week he goes off for 100 yards and a TD. *EDIT: sorry, guess that’s three things…
-
Michael Thomas isn’t even on the injury report so this is highly speculative. I like Moore.
-
I wouldn’t consider any waiver wire TE over Pitts. If you grab a waiver wire TE you’re most likely gambling on them getting a TD. Pitts might be frustrating but he’s one of the few with upside to see big targets down the field and is probably the no1 target in the passing game. Falcons won’t always be in the same game script as last week and you would expect Ridder to improve.
-
I’d rather have Higgins and it’s not remotely close
-
I like Musgrave, think his upside is slightly higher but I’d probably order it: Henry Musgrave Hurst But it’s close and I’m not particularly excited about any.
-
Wow. Called that wrong, definitely didn’t see him having a bell cow role. That’s the second most carries he’s ever had and only second time he’s had 20+. Not sure he holds up with that every week so worth watching going forward, but congrats if you started him. One thing’s for sure, Penny isn’t worth holding on to.
-
If anyone offers me a player of value for a D/ST I’m almost certainly making that trade.
-
I think the slight downgrade from Aiyuk to Evans is worth it to get Andrews. 49ers will have some big weeks offensively but they also want to run the ball and have so many weapons, I’d rather not be starting two of them.
-
This doesn’t make sense. They made Drake London the first WR off the board at No8 overall in ‘22. The way they are roster building is certainly unusual (taking 3 skill players in 3 years without a top QB in place) but to say they built a team to only run the ball is off the mark. Teams started slow on offense in week 1 and I expect Ridder to ultimately be a better thrower than Mariota. Pitts will be fine, but they’ll still run the ball a lot so I’m more concerned with London.
-
If you have Lamb and Olave I would trade Wilson for Kupp. I was high on Garrett Wilson before the season and he could still be good, but I think the chances of him hitting his max potential are low now with Zach Wilson at QB. If Kupp comes back and is still Kupp he’s a league winner.
-
I didn’t see Hollywood mentioned on your roster. I would have held on to JSN. I don’t have much interest in starting Hollywood until Kyler is back.
-
The Philly RB situation feels like a mess but Gainwell being out gives Penny a chance to run with the job IMO. He’s definitely more explosive than Gainwell, and I can’t see Swift having a bell-cow role. Wouldn’t start Penny, can’t even guarantee he’s active, but if he is I think I’d want to roster him just to see how he does. In my 14-team league I’m putting in waiver claims for Q Johnston, Charbonnet and Penny (in that order) and if I get Penny that will be my plan going forward.

Thoughts on TE after week 1… There is one elite guy (Kelce) Then there is the poor man’s Kelce (Andrews) Then 5 guys you can talk yourself into being top tier options (Waller, Kittle, Hockenson, Pitts, Goedert) of which at least 2 will bust and one will likely be injured most of the year. Then a whole load of guys you think “this year might be the year!”, take an upside swing, and then you realise that the position is as much of a dumpster fire as ever. Of that final group there will probably be one TE who doesn’t make you hate yourself. That guy will get hurt and you’ll end up playing Gerald Everett or CJ Uzomah for several weeks like you did the past 7 years.

TNF Discussion: Lions at Chiefs - Wk1

Pffft. Montgomery was plodding and slow. He picked up some first downs but without the touchdown it’s a woefully inefficient performance. As a Gibbs owner I’m optimistic after that game. Not the week 1 I hoped for points wise, but he nearly matched Monty’s yards in less than half the touches. Miles more explosive. If it weren’t for the fact that it was a) his first ever NFL game and b) against the reigning champs with a shot at an upset win if they could control the clock, he would’ve matched Monty. If he stays healthy it’s a 55-45 or even closer to 50-50 split IMO. -

I might give him longer than a half, but gotta admit I was hoping for more so far especially with Kelce out. -

Not sweating it. Pretty much as you'd expect, but he looks sooooo much more explosive than Montgomery, the split will even out soon enough. Probably has a TD if he doesn't slip. -
I like Skyy Moore in what is predicted to be a high-scoring matchup. Has earned rave reviews in pre-season and should be on the field in all two-WR sets. If Kelce sits it's a bonus but I'm starting him regardless. Is this PPR or standard? Denver has a good matchup and with Jeudy's health struggles Sutton has a chance to start fast early on. I like the others but I'd like to see how Falcons and Ravens offenses look before starting London/Flowers. And expecting big things for Elijah Moore but been burned before so would like to see what his role is in a presumably run-heavy offense.

Who to keep?? Lawrence-5th or D Jones-8
show me the murray replied to bigdog56's topic in A Little Help!
If it's superflex then Lawrence in round 5 is a steal. -
JJ and Higgins definitely not a bad way to go at all
