We are almost 100 years removed from the World Wars. It’s no longer a bipolar balance of power. Europe is no longer incapable of defending itself. The USA no longer has a postwar dividend to play with. We're in debt up to our eyeballs and we can’t afford to keep paying for everyone else’s defense. Trump knows this. The smartest scholars in political science have been saying this for about 20 years now. It is you and your warmongering party that are living in the past. America First. It’s not that hard to understand. It’s also moral. There is nothing more sacrosanct than tending to your own people first.

I worked with a woman who ran track competitively in high school in the 1980’s. She had set several school and conference records and a few of them were still standing. Over 30 years later she was still monitoring the status of her records. That’s how much her achievements meant to her.
