I came into Chicago in January. Was in line over an hour. The agents were asking multiple questions to everyone coming through. I got on the tram from term 5, made it to term 3 before it failed. Got out, had to beg my way through the pre-check line because eventhough Lutfthansa marked my ticket as pre-check, it did scan in that way in Chicago. I talk to many professors at a top engineering school, and the kids that are coming through now are much less prepared, some severely lack social skills, and are far more likely to make excuses and want relief from deadlines. These kids are not from families with parents who don't care. These are parents sending children to a $60k plus per year engineering school. The lockdowns for schools was inexcusable. No science showed that school aged healthy children had a significant risk from COVID. If older teachers needed special protections are were uncomfortable teach I ng, then workaround for special cases should have been made. It was criminal what we did to These children.
