They are trying to pump her up in Ohio and Pennsylvania, but the reality is she is in a deep hole which will cost her the election The Democrat still have time to allow Trump to be killed, put him in jail on ficticious crimes, or stuff the ballot box. The only time where tax increases did not pull down the government was a modest tax increase under Clinton which raised taxes from 33 to 39 percent on the upper middle class wage earners. But that was in the mist of an already strong economy. Massive tax cuts which significantly lowered the top marginal rates were done by both Kennedy and Reagan and in both cases lead to a generation of economic growth. The other tax code legislation have been minor tinkering with the tax codes in most cases were temporary tax cuts to provide economic stimulus. The historical evidence suggest any tax rate over 40 percent tends to pull the economy down.
