Gas Lamp tends to be overpriced food and a lot of bars and nightlife. I would Uber out to Shelter Island and eat at a place called Bali Hai. Excellent food, best views of the city, and strong drinks. Probably a 10-15 minute ride. If you walk to walk somewhere, go to Little Italy or Seaport Village. Better eating options there, IMHO. There are also some decent brewries in the area. Going on the Midway is worth it if you love old fighter planes. A short hike from Seaport Village and a nice walk along the shoreline.
