Fantsy football update: Pittsburgh Steelers
BeenHereBefore replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
True but Smith seems like he is going to do a lot more play action as well and so nice to be able to not have to run the ball out of shotgun all the time like Canada did. I think that is what the Sreelers needed in a OC , so Smith may be a good hire. -

He did pretty well with Henry and good OC not good head coach ? Kinda like Todd Haley, I'm just saying he was what Pitt is looking for and will see. -

He seems run oriented and probably why Pitt went with him. That and he made Tannehill decent. -
I can't catch him and have the same players going lol.

The date is January 29, 1979, and it's a Monday. Babies who are born today will have the star sign Aquarius. The weekend has just passed, so some people are feeling a bit down. Others are tired after partying too much. In America, the song "Le Freak" by Chic is at the top of the singles charts, while "Heart Of Glass" by Blondie is the number-one song in the UK. Jimmy Carter is the President of the United States, and the movie Superman is at the top of the box office. James Callaghan is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. On television, people are watching popular shows such as "Fawlty Towers", "What's Happening!!", "Quincy, M.E.", and "Soap". In fashion, clothes have become baggier and pants have become less flared. Sports clothing and the "disco look" are both popular at the moment. Women are wearing sundresses, strapless tops with t-shirts, shoulder pads, cardigans, knee-length skirts and daisy dukes. Meanwhile, men are wearing tracksuits, flare jeans, low-top sneakers and untucked collared shirts. Because it's 1979, the music charts are being dominated by the likes of Blondie, Gloria Gaynor, M, Donna Summer, Patrick Hernandez, The Knack and Rod Stewart. If you were to travel back to this day, notable figures such as Sid Vicious, John Wayne, Alfred Hitchcock, and Ian Curtis would all still be alive. People are playing video games such as "Pursuit", "Gun Fight", "Breakout", and "Space Invaders". Kids and teenagers are watching TV shows such as "Happy Days", "The All-New Super Friends Hour", "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels", and "Godzilla". Children are playing with toys such as Etch A Sketch, the Easy-Bake Oven, Battleship (game), and Speak & Spell.

Lost another one of my close friends
BeenHereBefore replied to Stryker Ryker's topic in The Geek Club
Sorry to hear man and lost a lot to drugs and suicide the last couple years, a few from cancer as well. Sucks getting old and again sorry to hear about your friend. -
I said people still want to believe in Santa no matter if proof proves other wise Some of the teams like the Giants and Steelers was founded on shady horse racing gambling. The Giants owner gave Art Rooney a tip on a horse race where Art won a ton and enough to buy the Steelers. Probably some huge trifecta long shot.

Because it's a famous mystery for many years.

Heck since I been doing NBA props you see a player needing 26.5 points for the over and coach pulls him at 26 points with 8 minutes to go and they never get back in the game. Happens in the NFl to with player props. Like yesterday I had Watson from KC that need 16.5 total for over. He gets 1 catch early and of course it is 16 yards and he doesn't get that extra yard the rest of the game. Just a little odd.

I remember when I was 10 or 11 and my dad had a bookie and he would let me bet on games. I would bet on MNF and would take a team and the over and under. This one MNF game I need a garbage TD with around 2 minutes left, the team I needed the td from runs the football and the rb is 10 yards out of bounds and not tackled. Clock keeps going and announcers don't mention why the clock is still running and needless to say I didn't get the garbage td at the end. Ever since then I knew there was shady stuff going on that had to do with the spreads.

The movie about it was decent for being a B rate type. Yep and it's in all sports that gambling is involved most likely.
-
That was the Trifecta and good point, very asinine!

You're welcome and agreed.
