    Beware of FantasyAuctioneer.com

It worked fine for our teams last night. The only hiccups were java & flash issues resolved by changing laptops. I would strongly suggest you do a mock beforehand.

    Missing person's report

While I'm in an auction, I ponied up for Peyton and just lost my first game this week thanks to my opponent playing Derek and Braylon. So I am 5-1, barely. What's your point? Edit: I'm obviously referreing to the guy who started this thread.

    Housh/Dunn for Bush

With you other WR's I would agree as well.
  4. Well one side is losing a weak starter for two RB's that will mostly ride the pine (but one with potential). It's also a keeper league and Norwood could be kept for cheap. The Benson owner was going to start him this week and has another 2 top-20 15 RB's as well. Thoughts?

I will never pay for cbssportsline again

Regarding controlling waiver wire times on Yahoo: Only if you are in the pay version. I am in the free, private system and I have to manually freeze all coaches and run the WW process myself (as commish).
  6. The difference is the amount of money teams are making now compared to then. Have you looked at what teams are now worth? Naming rights, clothing sales, stadium revenues, etc. Crafty management and smart personnel will always be an aide. Without a cap, though, it would aide the rich teams in becoming juggernauts and the poor teams in becoming average. I do agree, though, that something should be done about veterans. That is my only beef with the cap system.

Also, I like the keeper list and the dead money in the keepers setup. However, the systems is flawed a bit in regards to dynamic VDB. I know that is a pain to implement live in the spreadsheet (where player values are adjusted as people overpay or underpay for other players), but it should be done for at least the keepers in my situation. What I am asking is if there is a way to remove, from the Cheatsheet, all those players who are kept, and remove the money we spent to keep them from the total salary cap, and THEN calculate the Max Bid values. I hope that makes sense. For example, Since I get a steal keeping LJ this year at far under the cheatsheet's value of $34, it should increase the max bid values for the remaining players. The reason is that the auction "market" has more money than anticipated to spend for the remaining players/points. In a perfect world, it would be great if the auction values were adjusted after each player is drafted. If people start overspending it means I can somewhat devalue players because everyone else will run out of bucks to spend towards the end of the draft. I hope no one's head exploded.

Just bought again, it helped me win last year. That an LJ, of course. I notice that doing the re-ranking sorts thing in ascending manner. In other words, it puts the $1 players at the top of the cheatsheets. This screws up the Top Ranked Players Available on the summary tab in DBuddy.

How did you tweak them? I am leaning towards increasing QB's & RB's a bit.

Thanks for the info and thanks for the help on the dVDB question. This will work fine. Ephraim

    Updating Cheatsheets mid-draft

Hmm, I don't have my file handy but I'll look into it. I think I got that right. Basically, you have to agree with the VBD philosophy. To calculate that we find our baselines, come up with the new fantasy points (Peyton minus the baseline is 154pts), and divide the total number of dollars to be spent in the entire draft by the entire number of baseline fantasy points available. This assigns a $ per point above baseline value. Then when you multiply your player's VBD fantasy point value by this figure you get the long-sought "Max bid" or calulated auction worth. My league, ignoring keepers, starts out with 100,000,000 in money and whatever the amount of VBD fantasy points may be (since everyone's projections/baselines can be different). My crappy little spreadsheet had fixed worksheets with my projections in them and was very dynamic; Every calculated VBD number (peyton = +154, Charlie Batch = -25) would change as soon as I tweaked one scoring parameter or one projected stat that influenced the calculation. I am not familiar with a spreadsheet that runs off of macros (like yours), so I don't know how hard it is to re-calculate, especially when you are referencing the compiler as an external source of info. So, since mine changed as soon as a player was picked and paid for I could simply get Excel to subtract that dollar amount from the original total I started out with. As soon as that number changed, the relative worth of the each fantasy point above baseline changed again, and I had new dollar amounts calculated for the remaining players. In one sense, it would be no different if I could somehow change the salary cap total in the draft buddy setup page after each pick and then rerun it without clearing keepers and players already drafted. Make sense? I need to figure out how to break your protection and I may put this in myself.
  14. Mike, I couldn't find this question anywhere through searching, so here goes: My league has 10 teams and the salary caps are spread different based on order of finish last year (like the draft order in the NFL draft). 1st team has a salary cap of 9,000,000 and the last team has a cap of 11,000,000. The teams in between increase by incremements and the whole sums up as if all teams had a 10M cap. How can I input the team-by-team caps? Also, since we use $10,000,000, not $100, for the average cap, the max bid numbers are much longer. While it is not needed, how do I get permission to change the format (width) of the max bid columns? Right now they are too small and I get the ####'s showing.

Any thoughts on what to select for an auction style draft?
