Lol. I will take that as a no- you don't think it applies to the other side as well. As usual. -

Like Marxism/Communism and pedos or do you think it just applies to the kooky left as usual? Both sides have their pet issues they scour for examples of. You could ask that last question to most of the Geek Club. -

Didn't you read the other posts? Somebody posted that non-binary = "under the trans umbrella" so therefore anybody lgbtq is a tranny. makes perfect sense. -

I think you are half right - yes, it's for real. But yes, it's largely performative to get clicks and attention. It's SM 101 - you don't stand out by being a normal person going about your day you stand out by actively looking for things to be "offended" over and posting videos about it. The beauty is it works on everybody - you have people sharing to spread the outrage and you have the GC sharing to prove how crazy lefties are. -

0 clue why that is in a post addressing one of mine. I certainly wouldn't suggest that. Me? I would expect it to be right in line with what you posted above and that's it's the factors that I listed above that correlate with the incidents not a answer either way of trans or not trans. -

Our country is not lacking money and resources. We just need to follow the money to see where our priorities actually are. Often the answer is perpetual war. -

Some interesting ideas I've seen were things like you said - way more counselors in schools for starters. People in crisis shouldn't have access to guns, but there are many roadblocks in preventing them access. From things like lack of access to a minor's record when applying for a gun to lack of communication between teachers/counselors/law enforcement to help identify people likely to do something like things. The vast majority of time there is 'leakage' with the shooter - they tell somebody their intent or they post about it. But yes, all ideas are far more interesting to me than more locks on doors and arming teachers. -

People love to blame everything on mental illness, but of course when a "solution" (as lickin' put it) that revolves around addressing mental health brushed aside. I see it a lot on these threads. -

The biggest common factors in these types of shootings are: domestic violence/bullying, suicidal thoughts, and a fixation on the place where the shooting happened (often where #1 took place). Of course those first two are very common in the history of the trans community, so it shouldn't be a surprise there would be shooters from that community. The other factor that is more becoming more and more common is copy catting and studying other shooters. So again, it would make sense to see a rise communities with those histories. That said, that is different than people saying it's because they are trans or being trans makes them violent, which seem to be the card most of the Geek Club likes to play. -

Cool. It should be policy. I still don't think its the solution, but it would be an improvement to the current system. -

That's not difficult, nor addressing my concern about training and profiency. That was my main issue, not they have to wait a period of time. -

I disagree when it comes to CC. I also don't think because something is a right that means it also shouldn't require a level of training and competency in a case like this. -

1. Imo everywhere. I glanced at CA and didn't see details on the specific training for the initial class, but the renewal was I believe a 4 hour class. Doesn't seem like a high bar to clear to me for that privilege. -

My problem is twofold: 1. IMO a CC license is way to easy too obtain. There should be more training involved to qualify to have one. Other than that, I have 0 issues with the idea. 2. This seems to be the primary solution for a lot of people, but IMO it's too little too late. This is like arming schools and other solutions - it's reactionary and not proactive. To me you have lost the overall battle if we still have a system where that loon is walking into the theater to kill a bunch of people with guns. -

The amount of time grown men spend on what tim is doing, posting about, or what his reaction to something will be is pathetic, but funny as hell. -

That's fair. I meant not so much that they didn't like him more, but think he's even funnier now that he's taking shots there. You are right though, it's more the left having 0 tolerance for discussion about that topic. I can't think of a more toxic topic for a comedian or speaker to address. Maybe if Chapelle was doing jokes about Israel, maybe? What I find interesting is he does a lot of jokes about them, but if you actually watch the whole special or a few of them, anybody with a brain can tell where they are coming from and it's not hatred - e.g. his story about the trans comedian. I think he has one of the best descriptions of the issue with his LGBTQ in a car bit as well. Like most things, people just rely on a 20clip online and look to get pissed off instead of actually trying to understand another POV or consume it all in context. -

It was more the Rushmore comment. I think he is really funny, but not sure I'd go all-timer for him is all. I've never seen a stand up live. It always seemed overpriced for the big names, and sifting through the local crap didn't sound appealing either. Are there a few opening acts with Jeselnik, and were any of them good too? -

Fair observation. Don't you think there is a trend in the reverse too and people on the right might be liking him more since he is one of the few lobbing shots at that community? Like Tree of Knowledge said - it's funny to rile up the lefties and trannies. -

I guess I still disagree here. I laughed at the Jim Carrey opening and at the paraplegic at the orgy bits
