Why are Democrats so afraid of "No Labels" in politics?
BuckSwope replied to Mike Hunt's topic in The Geek Club
Of course we could. I can't remember the last time we were in control of immigration. That's my point- nobody really wants that, or it would be done. Instead both sides profit big, and imo one side looks more hypocritical in the process. -

Currently, of course it is. Not sure how much to blame politicians when most of our country runs on the profit over people mentality. They are the scapegoats, but aren't the ones benefiting the most, and definitely aren't the ones losing the most. -

Of course it is. But there is wholesale hiring of them in very important sectors. Question for you and others - when you use illegal do you use people who show up at the border, claim asylum, and get their court date? or just people running from feds and sneaking in? My position is anybody serious about this issue starts at enforcing the hiring of these people and with the broken asylum process. -

Lol. If you blowhards cared as much about illegals as you do trannies on beer cans. How about this - start a boycott of any company profiting off of illegals? Maybe the "law and order" side of the aisle actually crack down on hiring practices? Yes, it's accurate to point fingers at people like tim who hire them under the table to maximize their profits - you seriously can't be dumb enough to think that doesn't apply to huge portions of our economy. Only the lefties want them in for those profits? No, there are two sides of this issue - ones who are partisan idiots that believe what politicians tell them and ones who look at their actions. -
I find Train to Busan to be very good and oddly overrated at the same time. I thought the f/X got a bit cheesy at times.

[ friday thread ] if you had a youtube channel what would it be about?
BuckSwope replied to JustinCharge's topic in The Geek Club
Something movie related. -
I have pic in my head from an album insert - maybe And Justice... ? that it reminded me of. I didn't see it on a quick google search and had to stop because I wanted to punch my computer.

Lol. Very fair point - gotta lead with the good stuff.

Has This Been The Worse Year For Summer Movies ?
BuckSwope replied to BeenHereBefore's topic in The Geek Club
Looks like somebody else here didn't see the most important movie ever filmed. Probably a groomer. -
Wait, you aren't aware of the Democrats' pro-pedophilia platform?

Roger Taylor looks a bit like Lars in that pic.

Fair, I was just trying to account for what seems to be a rise in said group, and answering your question if the goths morphed into the trans/non-binary people. -
Probably pen1s shaped

I agree more with LC on this one. The pronoun people don't strike me as similar to the goths. The only connection might be the ones who self harm. The ones I interact with more remind me of the theater/band/art geeks that already were androgynous or lgb when I was in HS. imo instead of the goths, what adds to the numbers are the ones who also already had body and eating issues. -

Same place- probably their basement. -
Why are Democrats so afraid of "No Labels" in politics?

Interesting question. I don't think so, but that is just based on my limited exposure to students at the school and the few alphabet/pronoun people we have at work. They strike me more as the artsy/band geeks I was around in HS. Most are outgoing and friendly, not the broody emos I've met. There also seems to be a blending of the kids that used to have issues like eating disorders and cutting. I've noticed there seems to be a high correlation with one of those and that group. That said, I also don't see many emo and goth kids anymore, so either you are correct or they just stay in the basement and brood. -

I do think we have different tolerance levels of woke or what it's pushing, but largely I agree it helps nothing and just creates division. As to the bolded, please understand that I do find some of your posts and examples funny, I don't need or enjoy 100s of them, so I ignore most of your posts. Hence my comment the other day about not needing to go full throttle all the time. Lastly to expand more on your question, the reason I am not freaked out or scared is because I am involved. I can't recommend or stress that last part enough. Go to the schools, read to your kids' class, read what they are reading and talk to them, get to know their teachers. The stuff in your examples aren't anything like reality here. What some freaky green hair barista is yelling about on Twitter is fun to laugh at, but doesn't overly concern me. -

Of course. Do you see me in here defending the stuff you are asking me about? I specifically say I am largely with you on those issues, but I guess it's more fun to pretend I am a Flaming fbg lib, so we go that route instead of back and forth like this. -

There's more than enough hypocrisy on both sides. I never said the border isn't an issue, of course it is. I've stated multiple times I don't think either side is serious about fixing the issue, so it's not high priority when thinking about candidates and when I vote. Too much profit tied to those illegals. -

I'm confused as to why you don't think a lot of people already think and vote like this. You just described most people I know IRL. Of those things you listed, IMO only abortion is the controversial topic. I can't think of a person R or D that isn't in support of gay marriage and strong borders. But those are ISSUES and it's much easier just to join a team and root for D vs R and just vote one way or the other. I know people in that first category who stupidly vote like this (some D, some R), but you can't control that. Also, just because you and I might be for strong borders, that doesn't mean we will agree on solutions or put equal weight on that issue in the voting both. Using your examples, typically border and gay marriage don't enter the equation when I vote. -
Why is there so much anti-gay hatred? Woman shot and killed for having a rainbow flag in her store.

I read that as law abiding blacks have a disadvatage over law abiding whites because of the high % of the black criminals. -

Never thought of it that way. -
I think it's equally weird that people think Trump shares similar values to them. As if he cares about anything except his name, ego, and $. It's truly bizzare to watch people get that into a politician.

This is part of it, but also SM amplifies the hell out of this issue as well. Do you think that is part of the issue?
