  1. I clarified a little more on an edit. You are too quick. Honestly, how many politicians do you think the bolded applies to on either side of the aisle. Very few GAF about much besides power, money, and getting reelected.
  2. I what you are saying here, but as usual you only apply it to one side of the aisle. Both sides live on hyperbole. Isn't the bolded basically what the 'bootstraps' tone the right always takes a lot? People talking about their struggles and it's met with a shrug and "I did it, so can you".
  3. Yeah, I do. Made a mild compromise with the wife. She is a vet and understandably protective of her license and ability to prescribe meds [getting caught with weed could get her license through the DEA suspended] We try not to push it with getting stuff delivered or buying too much at a time.

Iconic Songs No Longer Allowed On The Radio

What is this "radio" you speak of?
  5. Lol. So hyperbolic - it was a joke. You strike me as being like the idiot dads I have to deal with in my neck of the state. 0 issues day drinking at their 12 year old kid's basketball tournament but look down on me because I have an edible at night. Yes, I would like to not have to drive to Michigan for my substance of choice. No, I would not take all the BS that NG listed that makes Cali a cesspool in order to have that option.
  6. Dimming the lights ain't taking away Whoopi's smell. I can't imagine the horrors that would be unleashed.
  7. Yeah, but it's got awesome weed at very low prices. You have that, and you don't care about the rest of it. I can only hope my state could turn as blue as Cali.
  8. According to the Geek Club the only reason is if you are a tree hugging homo liberal.
  9. Gotcha, so nothing to do with any of my posts.
  10. For sure, location matters for the jump as well. I think the doc you are talking about is The Bridge. It was good. Also, if I remember right wasn't it a lot survived the jump and drowning kills more? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.
  11. Data is always lagging, but there are a bunch of studies like THIS if you look around. There are factors, like the underlying mental health disorder or chemical they are addicted to that changes the %s, but most I see are like that and hover around 30-40% rate of re-attempt. There have been a few interesting studies about methods and I am looking for one if you truly want to know. There was one from the UK when suicide by gas stove hit an all time high. There was a push to replace them, and the death by suicides fell off and weren't replaced by a different method. I have seen some with similar rates around the issue at hand - taking away access to a popular spot like the GG Bridge. The added huge piece of the puzzle is lethality. Via gun is by far the highest success rate, hovering between 85-90% death rate. There were almost 50K deaths by suicide, so you can save many lives just by taking more lethal options away, as morbid as that is. For example, jumping is 1/2 that guns rate and methods like cutting have a 5% or less success rate. Big difference if a person tries to shoot themselves, jump, or cut themselves.
  12. This isn't the case. It's most, which is why some focus on measures like this. It's also why the gun advocates don't want to focus on suicides. You posted correctly in the - it's most often an impulse decision, most don't choose other methods, and most don't reattempt after a failed try.
  13. As I read about the topic it doesn't make sense, but all the stats and studies I've seen point to the bolded being true the vast majority of time. I've seen it repeated alot here and elsewhere - "well, if they don't use X they will just use Y" most of the time that is not the case and methods don't a have the same rate of success

Anyone getting Peacock for the Chiefs game?

They probably don't care where the ratings came from, just that it was likely to be more than your idea of airing a shitty college basketball game netted.

A man's gotta have a code. Horsemans is don't pay for entertainment you consume.

Anyone getting Peacock for the Chiefs game?

I understand that, but it's at least the same product as people were tuning into watch, so I'd think more would stick around vs a random basketball game.

Anyone getting Peacock for the Chiefs game?

I would think more people tuning in to watch an NFL playoff game would stick around longer for an NFL game than a shitty college basketball game.

I thought the same, but didn't feel like fighting about that. I watch EPL on Peacock, and thought I had those options for that.

Like they care about safety that much more than $. They probably made the calculations that fewer people could get to the stadium during snow than bitter cold and the move made sense financially.

Big shocker a company behind the most popular sport by far in the country would try to get extra $ to watch the product. The bolded is a sign you are watching a bad product in the first place. Sorry for the huge inconvenience of having to click a couple buttons to watch a game. Thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Not the rest of us. I haven't watched a full NFL game in about a decade. I just find it odd when people complain about a product but still watch it, or when $6 is a breaking point for people.

Are you one of those who b1tch and moan but still go to the games, purchase gear, play FF, and watch the product all or most weekends? Take a stand over that $6 though- that'll show em!
