The Comments Section With Brett Cooper: "Tipping Is Out Of Control"

View from FSU: Why black people don't tip ....One of the biggest stereotypes in the service industry is that black people don’t tip well. That stereotype, however, according to a few different studies that use different methodologies and different areas, has some basis in reality.....On average, according to the Washington Post, black people tip less than white people in U.S. restaurants. A recent survey of about 1,000 restaurant servers found that 70% thought black diners/patrons were “very bad” or “below average” tippers, meanwhile those same people surveyed believe that 98% of white diners were at least “average” tippers. Working in the service industry, I can attest to the fact that there is a negative perception about black people’s tipping....Being a server in a restaurant is a unique experience. It is also very different compared to working other jobs. Most servers get paid $2.13 an hour .....The majority of servers rely on the tips they make from diners to pay their bills. In some restaurants, servers tip out a percentage of their total sales to busboys or hosts and bartenders, meaning that if a table doesn’t tip their waiter, not only has a server worked essentially for free, a server may have to pay a host or bartender for that table. .....When you go out to eat in a restaurant, it is customary to tip at least 15-20 percent. Research from Cornell University has shown that 70% of whites know that compared to only 35% of blacks. .....Tips are a server’s livelihood. Education, awareness, and relatability are three ways to bridge the gap.... https://www.fayobserver.com/story/opinion/2017/04/07/view-from-fsu-why-black-people-dont-tip/21397169007/ -

Woman fired from Outback Steakhouse after complaining that church didn’t leave tip .....A Florida Outback Steakhouse worker says she filled a local megachurch’s $735 takeout order and then was fired when she ranted on social media about not getting a tip.....“We take the order over the phone, we put the order together, take payment and then take order to the car,” Tamlynn Yoder, 25, of Lake Park, told the Palm Beach Post. “It’s a lot of work just as much as serving.”....Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens was holding a conference and called in an order to the local Outback Wednesday for 25 steak dinners, 25 chicken dinners and 25 side orders of potatoes that Yoder said she had to prepare, costing her other tips. “I brought it out, put it in the car,” Yoder told Miami Fox affiliate WSVN-TV. “We received the payment. There was no gratuity. I got upset. I posted a post on Facebook about the church not leaving a gratuity tip.”....A friend read her post and called the church to complain and was told that the person who picked up the food didn’t know to leave a tip.....“Coming in to eat or takeout, you should automatically be wanting to tip 15 percent,” Yoder said. “From there, you either go up or go down based on service.”....A church representative called the restaurant ....Nevertheless, she was shown the door. “We did not call the restaurant to have her fired, we wanted to get the situation resolved,” church official David Lonsberry told the Palm Beach Post. https://nypost.com/2018/02/12/woman-fired-from-outback-steakhouse-after-complaining-that-church-didnt-leave-tip/ -

DeSantis says he would cancel student visas, deport foreign nationals celebrating Hamas if elected president ....Republican presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would rescind student visas of foreign nationals in the U.S. and send them back to their home countries if they expressed support for Hamas terrorists' attack against Israel...."You see students demonstrating in our country in favor of Hamas," DeSantis said. "Remember, some of them are foreigners."....DeSantis said he will be "canceling your visa, and I’m sending you home" if he wins the presidency in 2024. Last week, the governor announced that nearly 300 Floridians arrived in the Sunshine State on flights from Israel following his executive order authorizing logistical, rescue and evacuation operations through Florida's Division of Emergency Management. The flights were completed through a partnership with the search and rescue non-profit group Project DYNAMO, and efforts for further evacuation flights to Florida are expected.....The Florida Division of Emergency Management also sent cargo planes to Israel containing medical supplies, clothing items, hygiene products and children's toys, according to the governor's office. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/desantis-says-he-would-cancel-student-visas-deport-foreign-nationals-celebrating-hamas-elected-president -

Israel Security Agency creates new unit to hunt, kill every Hamas terrorist in Oct. 7 surprise attacks: report ....The Shin Bet, Israel's version of the FBI, calls the unit NILI, according to a new report...Israel's version of the FBI has reportedly launched a new unit dedicated to tracking down and killing every Hamas terrorist who took part in the surprise Oct. 7 attacks from Gaza. ....The Israel Security Agency, known as Shin Bet, established a new unit known as NILI, an acronym in Hebrew for "The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie," according to the Jerusalem Post. The new unit, which will operate separately from other command and control units focused on taking out strike cells and high-ranking Hamas officials, is tasked with tracking down and eliminating every person who played a role in the atrocities, according to the report.....It will specifically target members of a special Hamas commando unit within the terror organization's Nukhba wing. which Israel believes carried out the attacks.....Those assigned to the unique mission reportedly include both field operatives and intelligence personnel. More than 20 towns and villages in southern Israel were ambushed in the sweeping assault by Hamas militants launched from the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, according to The Associated Press. Senate warns of increased crime on Capitol Hill as lawmakers and staff face string of robberies, carjackings .....The Senate warned lawmakers and Capitol Hill staffers to take precautions amid a rise in crime throughout D.C., following a series of violent attacks against members of Congress and those who work for them......In a Friday bulletin to Senate chiefs of staff, administrative managers, chief clerks and staff directors, the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms suggested tips to reduce the risk of being carjacked and warned of an increase in carjackings around the nation's capital. The warning came the day after a Senate staff member was robbed at gunpoint and weeks after a House Democrat was carjacked. "Local authorities note an increase in carjacking incidents in and around Capitol Hill and the District of Columbia," the bulletin, obtained by Fox News Digital from multiple Senate sources, states......Another section primarily discussed what an individual should do if "confronted by a carjacker with a weapon."....From armed robberies to carjackings, a variety of lawmakers and Capitol Hill staff members have found themselves at the center of violent attacks on the streets of D.C. in recent months....A staff member for Republican Sen. Katie Britt was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night, Washington D.C. Police confirmed Friday. According to FOX 5 D.C., Amanda Peper, a scheduler for the senator, was robbed at gunpoint at 8:30 p.m. about a mile from the Capitol.....Police said Peper was walking to her building when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun in her face and said, "Give me your purse and keys." Peper complied with the mugger and gave him her belongings, police said....."It is infuriating and completely unacceptable that an American who is on Capitol Hill to serve her country cannot safely walk the streets of Washington, D.C., at 8:30 at night because of the out-of-control crime in this city," Britt's office said in a statement to Fox News Digital. Earlier this month, Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar was carjacked by three armed attackers while parking his car in Washington’s Navy Yard neighborhood, an area where other lawmakers live that's less than two miles south of the Capitol building....."Three guys came out of nowhere, and they pointed guns at me," Cuellar told reporters after the incident. "I looked at one with a gun and another with a gun out the one behind me. So, they said they wanted my car......’" In June, an unidentified congressional staffer for Minnesota GOP Rep. Brad Finstad was attacked at gunpoint near his home in D.C. after returning from the congressional baseball game......"In Washington, D.C. and cities across the country, anti-police, soft-on-crime policies have created lawless societies that endanger the public and empower criminal behavior," Finstad wrote at the time. Similarly, Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul announced in March a member of his staff was "brutally attacked" by a perpetrator with a knife on the streets of Washington, D.C....."This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.," Paul said in a statement at the time. "I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery and thanking the first responders, hospital staff and police for their diligent actions......the attack noted the victim was an adult male who had "life-threatening injuries." Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn., also became the victim of a crime in February when she was assaulted in the elevator at her Washington, D.C., apartment building.....Craig was getting coffee in the apartment's lobby when she noticed a man pacing. He got into the elevator with her and said he needed to use the bathroom and that he was going to enter her apartment, a U.S. Capitol Police special agent wrote in court papers.....When she said he couldn't go into her apartment, he punched her in the face and grabbed her neck before she threw a hot cup of coffee at him, prosecutors said.......acting D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith announced the city had reached its 200th murder this month, putting the city on pace to have among the worst annual body counts since the 1990s..... In 2023, total violent crime is on the rise again, up nearly 40% from last year, according to police data. Property crime is also surging, with motor vehicle thefts increasing 106% and robberies up 65%. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-warns-increased-crime-capitol-hill-lawmakers-staff-face-string-robberies-carjackings -

Hillary-endorsed candidate for Houston mayor Sheila Jackson Lee berates staff in profanity-laced tirade .....Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee calls staff members profanity-based names as she berates one over a calendar event....Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, was recently heard on recorded audio going off on one of her staff members in a profanity-laced tirade in which she said he and another staff member had no brains and are "f- -k-ups.".....Jackson Lee, a Hillary Clinton-endorsed congresswoman who built a reputation in Washington as being one of the "meanest" members of Congress, has represented the same Houston, Texas district in the House of Representatives for over 28 years......In March, Jackson Lee threw her name in the running to become the mayor of Houston in an off-year election, which if elected, would bring her time in Congress to an end..... In audio obtained by Texas newspaper Current Revolt and published on Saturday Jackson Lee is heard speaking with a male staff member when she asked, "You took a piece of paper from that woman regarding something that was owned by Duncantell. Where is it? What date was it?"......The man answered by telling the representative he gave the piece of paper to Jerome, who took it upstairs. The staff member then tells Jackson Lee he has to call Jerome, before being cut off......."I don’t want you to do a [expletive] thing," she said. "I want you to have a [expletive] brain. I want you to have read it. I want you to say, ‘Congresswoman, it was such and such a date. That’s what I want. That’s the kind of staff that I want to have." Jackson Lee continued to spew profanity at the staffer as she berated him over how she expects her staff members to handle calendar events, especially those from Ovide Duncantell, founder of the Black Heritage Society, Inc. Rather than pawn it off to someone else, the congresswoman said she needs whoever took the information about the event to know when and where the event takes place......"When I called Jerome, he only sits up there like a fat [expletive], just talking about what the [expletive] he doesn’t know," she said. "Both of y’all are [expletive]-ups…This is the worst [expletive] that I could’ve ever had put together. Two [expletive] big [expletive] children. [expletive] idiots. Serve no [expletive] purpose......Nobody’s respecting him, nobody gives a [expletive] about what you’re doing. And you ain’t doing [expletive]. And this is an example of it. I gave it to Jerome. This is not child’s work, ok," Jackson Lee said. This is not the first time Jackson Lee has gone off on staff members. In fact, in 2011, a Daily Caller report cited a number of former staff members as saying she used demeaning language and name-calling when addressing them.....Jackson Lee was forced to resign as the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in 2019 in the wake of a lawsuit by a former employee who claimed she was fired as retaliation for planned legal action related to an alleged 2015 rape by a supervisor.....According to The New York Times, which first reported on Jackson Lee's plans to resign, CBCF board members told Jackson Lee to step down as chairwoman or face a removal vote after the lawsuit became public a week earlier. In the suit, the unnamed former staffer alleged she was raped while a CBCF intern by the foundation's internship program coordinator and her supervisor at the time. Two years later, she was hired to work for Jackson Lee, who had recently been made chairwoman of the CBCF's board of directors. Shortly after she was hired, Doe said Jackson Lee received a text message from the CBCF's chief executive at the time, A. Shaunise Washington....."I just received a notification that you have a new staffer," Washington allegedly messaged Jackson Lee, mentioning the staffer's name. "Call me, I have background on her."....The staffer said she was fired in March 2018, roughly two weeks after she told Jackson's chief of staff, Glenn Rushing, that she had "recently learned more about her case involving Mr. Jones and CBCF and planned to move forward with legal action" against the foundation. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hillary-endorsed-candidate-houston-mayor-sheila-jackson-lee-staff-profanity-laced-tirade -

IMHO, there are actually quite a few elected Democrats who are relatively moderate. And don't have scandals. They just won't get near the highest levers of power. Those like Gretchen Whitmer and Gavin Newsom rise because they can be controlled. Abagail Spanberger is a liberal. Whitmer is a pure out and out "leftist" I consider leftists to be openly dangerous. I have no quarrel with traditional liberals. But you rarely hear from them. They are ignored and marginalized by the activist complicit MSM. -

You've actually advocated in the past, for what appears to be forced births. When you say "limiting abortion", you are talking about forcing women to have births that they don't want to have. Now people can lean one way or the other on the abortion issue, that's their right, and it's your free speech, but you don't seem to have a lot of consideration for a woman's right to choose regarding her own health care and medical issues.
