The Young Turks 2016 Election Meltdown Over Trump Victory (Uygur Runs For POTUS)
Blue Horseshoe replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur to run for president in 2024 as Democrat ....The big picture: The naturalized citizen who immigrated from Turkey to the U.S. in 1978 would be a long shot, but he said on his show that Biden would not win the election.....Istanbul-born Uygur believes the Constitution's "natural born citizen" clause would enable him to become president, but that he may have to take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court to get there.....What they're saying: "It should not have been me, it should have been somebody else, but unfortunately it was not anyone else," Uygur said. "There's only four months left. We must change course. He has at best a 10% chance of winning. I'm running as a proxy. I am running to win."...Representatives for the White House did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment. https://www.axios.com/2023/10/12/young-turks-cenk-uygur-president-run-democrat-2024 -

Fauci secretly went to CIA HQ to ‘influence’ COVID-19 origins probe, House Republican alleges .....“The information provided suggests that Dr. Fauci was escorted into Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters — without a record of entry — and participated in the analysis to ‘influence’ the Agency’s review,” Wenstrup said. “Our goal is to ensure the scientific investigative process regarding the origins of COVID-19 was fair, impartial, and free of alternative influence.”.....“The American people deserve the truth — to know the origins of the virus and whether there was a concerted effort by public health authorities to suppress the lab leak theory for political or national security purposes,” Wenstrup argues, demanding information related to the “movements of Dr. Fauci throughout the pandemic.” Specifically, Wenstrup seeks documents and communications between HHS, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease and the US Marshals Service – assigned to protect Fauci – regarding the former White House coronavirus czar’s admittance or entry into any CIA owned, operated, or occupied buildings.....The new allegations come after a senior-level CIA officer-turned-whistleblower alleged to Congress earlier this month that the intelligence agency offered to pay off six analysts in order to bury their findings that COVID-19 most likely leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China.....The analysts, who found SARS-CoV-2 likely originated in a Wuhan lab, were allegedly asked to report that the virus jumped from animals to humans....The US intelligence community declassified its 10-page report on COVID origins in June, which found “biosafety concerns” and “genetic engineering” taking place at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.... https://nypost.com/2023/09/27/fauci-secretly-went-to-cia-hq-to-influence-covid-19-origins-probe-house-republican-alleges/ -

Medical Schools Are Ditching Standardized Tests In The Name Of ‘Diversity’ Admissions

West Point Sued over Using Race as an Admissions Factor in the Wake of Landmark Supreme Court Ruling ....West Point was accused in a federal lawsuit Tuesday of improperly using race and ethnicity as factors in admissions by the same group behind the legal challenge that resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court striking down affirmative action in college admissions.....Students for Fair Admissions claims the U.S. Military Academy sets benchmarks for how many Black, Hispanic and Asian cadets there should be in each class. The lawsuit filed in New York's Southern District claims West Point is violating the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which contains an equal-protection principle that binds the federal government. “Instead of admitting future cadets based on objective metrics and leadership potential, West Point focuses on race,” according to the complaint. “In fact, it openly publishes its racial composition 'goals,' and its director of admissions brags that race is wholly determinative for hundreds if not thousands of applicants."....The filing comes after the Supreme Court in June struck down affirmative action in college admissions, forcing institutions of higher education to look for new ways to achieve diverse student bodies. The court’s conservative majority invalidated admissions plans at Harvard University, and the University of North Carolina, the nation’s oldest private and public colleges, respectively. That ruling did not cover West Point and the nation's other military academies.....But Edward Blum, president of SFFA, said in a prepared statement that with the recent high court decision, "it must follow that the U.S. military’s higher education institutions must end their race-based policies as well.”....“Over the years, courts have been mindful of the military’s unique role in our nation’s life and the distinctive considerations that come with it," Blum said. "However, no level of deference justifies these polarizing and disliked racial classifications and preferences in admissions to West Point or any of our service academies.” West Point produces about 17% of newly commissioned Army officers each year, according to the lawsuit.....West Point in recent years has made concerted efforts to diversify its ranks, with officials increasing outreach to metropolitan areas like New York City, Atlanta and Detroit......Minority enrollment was about 38% for the class of more than 1,240 that entered the academy north of New York City this summer. The academy also recently complied with recommendations from a commission created by Congress to remove honors to Robert E. Lee and other Confederate officers as a way to address racial injustice. Still, some graduates of color from West Point and the nation's other military schools have described hostile environments.....The lawsuit filed Tuesday also names the Department of Defense, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and other officials. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2023/09/20/west-point-sued-over-using-race-admissions-factor-wake-of-landmark-supreme-court-ruling.html -

Apparently Jada Pinkett Smith Has Decided For You That Cleopatra Was Actually Black
Blue Horseshoe replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
She was extremely beautiful when she was young ( obviously you need to be good looking to be in films in Hollywood, for the most part) and she still looks very good for her age now. (Imagine her as just a regular person with a regular job/career) I suppose part of the lesson here is really good looking people are still people. And once you get past their looks, the same baggage, problems, conflict, etc, etc, that everyone else deals with comes into play. There are different variations of the saying, but they all about approximate the same - Women tend to age like milk. The lesson I glean from this is pick someone of good character. It doesn't mean to ignore physical attraction. But jettison anyone who doesn't have good character first. Many people, nearly all I imagine, will associate good looks with all kinds of other "perceived" positive traits. But it might not be true. Find a pretty teenage girl in some church somewhere, and her grandmother will say she's "a sweet girl" to others. Is she? She's pretty and young and doesn't have the life experience to rack up decades of carnage and mayhem. But maybe she is, and maybe she's not. Once you get to the point in your life that good looks don't sway you anymore ( not that the concept in itself is easy by any means) then life becomes much simpler. -
The "US Foreign Policy & International Politics" Thread (Ben Shapiro Oxford Hamas Debate)
Blue Horseshoe replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
After Writing an Anti-Israel Letter, Harvard Students Are Doxxed ....A coalition of more than 30 student groups posted an open letter on the night of the Hamas attack, saying that Israel was “entirely responsible” for the violence that ended up killing more than 1,400 people, most of them civilians. The letter, posted on social media before the extent of the killings was known, did not include the names of individual students.....But within days, students affiliated with those groups were being doxxed, their personal information posted online. Siblings back home were threatened. Wall Street executives demanded a list of student names to ban their hiring. And a truck with a digital billboard — paid for by a conservative group — circled Harvard Square, flashing student photos and names, under the headline, “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.” Campuses have long wrestled with free speech. What is acceptable to say and what crosses into hate speech? But the war between Israel and Hamas has heightened emotions, threatening to tear apart already fragile campus cultures....Complicating it all: outside groups, influential alumni and big-money donors, who are putting maximum pressure on students and administrators. At the University of Pennsylvania, donors are pushing for the resignation of the president and the board chair, after a Palestinian writers’ conference on campus invited speakers accused of antisemitism.....At Harvard, a billionaire couple quit an executive board. Another donor pulled money for fellowships. And Lawrence Summers, a former Harvard president and Treasury secretary, criticized the leadership for a “delayed” response to the Hamas attack and the student letter. “You kind of feel like you’re responsible” for the harassment, said one of the Harvard students, whose family’s personal information was released. “That’s how silencing works, right?”....They had agreed to be interviewed but insisted on anonymity, saying that they feared for their safety. They asked that even the smallest details of their personal lives — freshman? senior? — not be published. One of the women found out from a friend about the billboard truck. It was parked just outside the university gates, plastered with a giant image of her smiling face. Customers sitting at a pastry shop, students looking out of their dormitory windows and commuters rushing to and from the train station could see her, along with a carousel of other students, being branded as antisemitic....“I threw up in Harvard Yard,” she said.....The truck is operated by Accuracy in Media, a conservative group that has also deployed such trucks at other campuses, including Stanford and the University of California, Berkeley.....The group is not done. It has purchased domain names for Harvard students associated with the letter and is setting up individual websites for them. Each site will call for the university to punish the students.....Students’ names were also exposed last week through a website featuring a “College Terror List, a Helpful Guide for Employers” compiled by Maxwell Meyer, a 2022 Stanford graduate. The doxxing, however, has extended to family members.....“Every single member of my family has been contacted, including my younger siblings,” said the student whose smiling face was on the truck. https://www.yahoo.com/news/writing-anti-israel-letter-harvard-185148055.html -

Tlaib is going for broke here because her political career is over. Michigan might lean Blue now, but Trump won it in 2016. There are 2024 general election considerations here as well. One of the reasons Tlaib won in 2018 is she got a massive cash and media infusion from the Justice Democrats. Whom have since abandoned her and the rest of the Squad. As much as many people are exhausted by The Young Turks and Kyle Kulinski, without those platforms, she doesn't get elected back then. Fair or not, she'll be labeled a terrorist sympathizer. Every time someone is running against a Democrat, they will look into archives to see if that candidate has any photos next to Tlaib. Because she's 'brand poison' now. So her only cash out pathway is to go as far to the left as possible. Appeal to most extreme elements out there. This is not much different than Adam Kinzinger. ( His district was gerrymandered out of existence by Priztker, there was nothing left to run for, so he started attacking Trump and Republicans because it was the best cash out pathway left to him) The current MSM won't protect her because the establishment Democrats despise the Progressive base. Tlaib is on an island here. The GOP is gunning for her naturally. The establishment Democrats want to eventually primary her out for one of their own loyalists. The Squad needs to distance itself from her because she ruins their chances to get other Progressives elected. The activist MSM won't run media cover for her like they will for others on Team Blue. -

Some people can't manage their own pain in their own time. They have to punish everyone around them because if they were drowning, then everyone else needs to drown with them. It's the mark of a weak person. Life is hard. Get a helmet. Don't poison entire communities because one can't manage their own demons and the demons of those around them. Tim, like squistion and Sho Nuff and his aliases, and the aliases of James Daulton/Wade Garrett are here because they'd be permanently banned at nearly every other established online community on the internet. However, in an ironic way, timschochet is excellent marketing for the Republican viewpoint. Would anyone here really want Tim as a neighbor? A coworker? A boss? A friend? Someone your daughter brought home from college and said she was engaged? Someone you'd hire as an employee if you owned a business? Tim's pathology and toxicity makes Conservatism look like safe harbor from a violent storm outside that is tearing everything apart. I feel sorry for his children. I feel sorry for his family. How much stability do you think exists for someone who has probably 250K posts, many through thinly veiled aliases, at the "other place" Think about that, a quarter of a million posts. -
Distancing herself from NY and Eric Adams. Including Biden and the current Democratic Party. She won NY, but not by the large margin for Team Blue in NY. Lee Zeldin made it very close. Zeldin's impact was the tide that lifted all other Republican boats in that harbor. Enough seats flipped to give the GOP the House in the 2022 Mid Terms. Which is why the Congressional hearings going after Big Social Media, immigration, energy, Biden's corruption, etc, etc, all came into play. She's not established enough to weather the political onslaught of inflation, then trying to take guns out of NY while Tish James and Alvin Bragg were enabling criminals, plus all the illegal immigrants flooding into the Big Apple. She's politically weak and this is a failed attempt to try to spin her narrative into something else. The problem is she's walking into a war. While also having a record of trying to take everyone's guns in NY, even running a midnight session to defy the Constitution and SCOTUS to do it. She can't present a hardliner stance against a threat to innocent civilians when she's presided over a state that left innocent civilians to be prey to criminals. ( I'm not trying to say the two situations are completely comparable, I'm saying practical media counter narratives against Hochul literally write themselves)

Gutterboy is being intentionally obtuse on purpose. The point is to incite you. And now that timschochet, squistion and James Daulton/Wade Garrett are here, their aliases will game the Report Button to try to ban anyone with a shred of a Conservative viewpoint.

Biden quietly places unconfirmed labor secretary in presidential line of succession, drawing GOP criticism .....Senate Republicans are expressing frustration with the Biden administration over its decision to add Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su — whose nomination to the role was never confirmed — to the presidential line of succession.....In a Tuesday letter to President Biden, Alabama GOP Sen. Katie Britt and 29 of her Republican Senate colleagues expressed "grave concerns" and requested clarification from the administration for its "apparent belief" that Su is "eligible to assume the office of President of the United States pursuant to the presidential line of succession as established by Congress in the Presidential Succession Act of 1947." "As you are well aware, since March 14, 2023, the United States Senate has declined to confirm Ms. Su’s nomination as Secretary of Labor, and she continues to lack adequate support from both Republican and Democratic members of the Senate to be confirmed to that position," the senators wrote. "Despite that reality and Ms. Su becoming the longest-ever Cabinet nominee to await confirmation in a time when the same party controls the White House and the Senate, the White House has chosen to keep her in place as Acting Secretary of Labor on an indefinite basis and has also listed her on the White House website as a member of the Cabinet ‘n order of succession to the Presidency.’" Listed ninth in the "order of succession" to the presidency on the White House's website, Su previously served as California's labor secretary under Gov. Gavin Newsom from 2019 to 2021....."While you and your Administration have clearly decided to ignore congressional intent in keeping Ms. Su in place in her current role, it would be unfortunate if you have decided to further discount congressional intent — and violate the law — by taking the position that Ms. Su is eligible for placement in the presidential line of succession," the Republican senators added. Pointing to the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the senators reminded President Biden that Congress has "the power to set the presidential line of succession beyond the Vice President.".....Su's nomination to the role of labor secretary was met with immense backlash, both from Republicans and Democrats, earlier this year. As a result, she was never confirmed to the role and has remained as the acting secretary of labor ever since.... https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-quietly-places-unconfirmed-labor-secretary-presidential-line-succession-drawing-gop-criticism
