If you do rentals, don’t do a single house. That’s a slow investment. You’ll want to do things like duplexes. Try to get small “apartments” that have anywhere from 3-5 units. Now, if you decide to do a single family house that’s fine. Just know you won’t be making a lot of it until years from now when that equity is built. Another thing is investing in things like laundry mats. Low cost, low Maintenance, and recession proof. Another one is vending machines. One can net you anywhere from $500-$1000/month. Last ones are more for if you’ll be around. Since you’re going to PCS you’ll prob not want to worry about all that. In which case, I’d do the multi unit apartments. I’ve been looking at things like this to do. Low maintenance things to earn passive income. Was looking at heavy equipment rentals, selling big loads of rocks (forgot what it’s called atm but seen a few places making bank off selling diff kinds of rocks & sand), wedding venues, and cemeteries are a few things I’ve been looking at starting.

Haven’t had any experience with it personally but I’ve heard of it and one of my old classmates works in cardio now so I’m sure she’s on the up & up with it. From what I know it’s a safe, effective way to treat afib without meds especially if you have a history or at risk of stroke. Quick google search pulled up a few risks associated with it such as air embolisms and infection but as with most device implants or surgical procedures these are common risks that are mitigated with proper medical technique. I’d consult your own doctor about it cause it might not be a good choice for you. I wouldn’t know since I haven’t treated you. My advice is to discuss it with your pcm at your next checkup

A little late but happy Veterans Day to my fellow geeks. Haven’t been on here much but hope all of you been doing well. On our way to Charlotte for the artist Pink’s concert tonight since I bought my wife tickets to it for her push gift. Cold, rainy, dreary day yesterday so we decided to stay in instead of going out for free meals. Don’t want my 7 month son catching anything or getting an earache. Thanks for sharing @Voltaire . Makes me extremely happy & proud to see people honoring us Vets, especially the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. The most inspiring thing is they would do it again in a heartbeat for us. I have the utmost respect for people like that 🫡

One. Was forced to get it in med school. Haven’t had to get a booster or anything for any job or to continue in school. Matter of fact, my med school didn’t even want to require it but we’re forced to. Hence, why they only made you get one & not all the boosters

I know Spanish but have been wanting to learn Japanese & Italian for when we travel over there. When my son is older, I’m going to learn mandarin with him together as a way to bond. But it will also help him later in life, especially business.

Definitely agree. However this LPN has been working for us for a little over a month. Hasn’t ever called out, hasn’t ever been late, hasn’t ever asked to leave work early, has been dependable and done good work (for me at least), etc. I’m actually friends with the guy and have grabbed a beer with him a few times. Which is why I was surprised when I heard that in the office this week.

Can we legally check CAD (computer automated dispatch) to see if they were lying or telling the truth? Cause this employee has thrown up a lot of red flags so we want to check but make sure it’s legal.

My state is diff and can fire you at will. I like to at least give them time off but if they show it to be a habit requiring a note is fine to me if I owned the business I’d just give employees leeway. Hence, why when I was deployed and was the leader of the team everyone liked me. As long as you get ur job done Idgaf what you do. But I also understand ppl that are chronically calling out being problems that need to have notes

You should have to. Common profession courtesy sense means if you miss one day, take it and rest. You miss the next day? Yea a note then is required. You miss day’s frequently? Such as 1-2 a month? I’m gonna need a note. But for ONE day? Fock off

Talked to the guy today, apparently he had a convo with the MD who demands he bring in something saying he was in a wreck. MD apparently “followed” that employee after he left the office without telling him. Tailed him in his car and said he saw him stop at a gas station. Said the lpn didn’t get out and o pump gas or go inside. Then he left & the MD doesn’t know where he went. Does this not sound completely bat Sh1t crazy to y’all???? I got an HR attorneys number from my sister to give to him cause that sounds like a major violation in South Carolina. You can’t monitor an employee off the clock & company grounds like that without consent or telling them. I also believe that extends to him checking the CAD and police departments. I’ve done my job but this whole ordeal has me considering looking elsewhere. I haven’t been here too long but if the MD is acting like (he owns the business) I don’t want anything to do with it or the workplace drama. Cause there’s ALOT here. Anyway, you guys have been solid with the advice. MD is a d1ck so if he gets sued I’d prob laugh at him

Ah gotcha. I’ll look then Monday when I’m back at the office. I did tell the guy to go see HR and maybe an HR attorney. That’s about the extent of my knowledge when it comes this. Appreciate the help

This is good info. I’m not sure if he’s contacted HR or not but I’ll inform him to check out that stuff. I’ve never been in a situation like this where HR needs to be contacted or lawyers. So I want to keep myself out of it while also passing along info to the guy. And like someone else said, it could def be the women being B1tch & just not liking him. Cause he doesn’t get out there & smoke with them since he doesn’t smoke. They take a good 8-10 smokes a day it’s why I’ve requested him to be my nurse and not the women. I’m all the time having to go find them

See it’s not ME who’s considering investigating it. It’s the MD who wants us to or find someone to. I’m not doing because it seems illegal to me and I don’t want my name anywhere NEAR this issue. Cause I’d side with the LPN over the MD
