Instead of paying down the deficit as Trump planned, now he wants to reimburse Americans for the high prices he caused with his taxation-without-representation tariffs. If that happens - which it unlikely won't - the whole thing would be a wash that pizzed off the whole world and cost taxpayers god knows how much to set up the tariffs collection system. Plus, the $2,000 will spark spending and cause more inflation. WINNING!

Giving Americans money so they can afford the high prices that Trump caused. That means increased spending, resulting in inflation that will push prices higher due to increased demand. LOL.
