    The lightning move toward autocracy

It's sickening to see this country's Trump- and MAGA-driven hatred of the LGBTQ community. Most of us just want to be who we are and live our lives the way we want to, and it would be nice to do that without all the hate. And if you think we're weak, you'll be surprised at just how much fight we have if pushed into a place where we have to defend our rights and ourselves.

Guess who is too old to run for President?

Trump is the oldest to ever run for president. The too-old spotlight quickly pivoted to Trump. Old guy, convicted felon and rapist who says crazy things.

Who Do You Like This Year?

I think Olave will have a stud season. Najee Harris had a sneaky-good end to the season. Tyjae Spears is intriguing. Drake London could break out huge this year. Henry is old, and Achane is rating way to high for my taste. He's too small and easily injured.

Guess who is too old to run for President?

I very much prefer a Biden who stutters, moves like a sloth and loses his train of thought over maniacal ramblings of a hateful, vindictive Trump and his radical bearded toadie who does his share of shameless mocking of people. But I do love that Trump is stuck with this radical goober who does nothing to woo moderates and independents to the Trump train.

Inflation: It's called the Inflation Reduction Act. Gas prices: Releases from the strategic reserves. Immigration: Are you denying that illegal border crossings are down? Look at the recent stats. Ties with allies: NATO is stronger thanks to Biden and his policies. Keeping tyranny in check: That being supporting Ukraine in its fight . Of course, simple supply-and-demand economics impacted inflation and gas prices, but Trumpers continue to blame the administrations about gas prices that spiked more than two years ago and have come down to reasonable levels. As much of a liberal as I am, I like my gas-guzzling pickup truck just fine and have no plans in the near future to switch to some sissy-ass electric vehicle. I'm not seeing all this alleged governmental horror of the past four years. My family is way better off, and I look forward to eight great years of Kamala Harris being president. Kisses!

More silly conspiracy theories. One could say the same thing about gas prices in 2020. The reality is that presidents and their administrations have little to no effect on such things, but worldwide pandemics do. During the past four years, issues such as inflation, gas prices and illegal immigration have been addressed. A landmark infrastructure bill passed. We've strengthened ties with our allies and have kept tyranny in check. Biden already has been framed as one of our best presidents while Trump continues to clock in at or near dead last. We are way better off now than we were four years ago. Watching the Trumpers sputter and flail in the rise of Kamala Harris has been quite entertaining, to say the least, particularly considering that they have to go back to when she was 27 years old to find something to mock, and even then she wasn't doing anything illegal or immoral. Meanwhile, her opponent is an old rapist and convicted felon who talks big talk and spreads big hate and lies but does little in the way of offering up solutions while convincing his followers that they're worse off than they were four years ago, despite the Dow setting records and being more than double what it was in early 2020. But let's see if he's got the stones to face Harris in a debate.

We sold our modest home for a price that gave us the profits to pay cash for an incredible Texas home in a great school district. Not sure what you're talking about with this "inland" stuff. Both Texas and California have ocean coasts. Check it out on a map. Knowledge!

I don't need to ask anyone. I can look at my investments and what I'm paying at the pump to feel thriving. Interest rates are a bit high but not nearly as bad as they have been at certain points in the past. I can afford the groceries and everyday household expenses. At this point, the desperate Republican straw-grasping has become quite entertaining and likely will remain so for the forseeable future. Love always wins, and the Republican hate for its opposition will serve as an Achilles heel and its undoing, because hate instead of ideas to solve problems serves as the predominate platform. Sad to see this, but oh well.

Gas prices have come way down. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=emm_epmr_pte_nus_dpg&f=m Mortgage rates have come down. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MORTGAGE30US Illegal entries have dropped. https://www.texastribune.org/2024/07/16/texas-border-migrant-apprehensions-decrease/ It's amazing to me how someone's political passions result in them latching onto outdated negative data that fuels their paradigms. And if you only got a $1 pay increase, perhaps you should find a new career field. My partner and I are way better off than we were four years ago. We got the heck out of California and have made a great home in Texas, although the state government needs some work.

The state of our country being record-low unemployment, higher wagers, a record-setting stock market, retirement assets growing and inflation slowing, among other things. What she did before in the primary is irrelevant. Republicans should be very worried, but I'll enjoy them making petty remarks about Harris, embracing their short-lived happiness and thinking they have this election in the bag.

Harris now has more than enough delegates pledged to her to secure the nomination. The only ones complaining about that are Republicans. No one on my side of the fence is complaining about their primary vote going to waste. This is an unprecedented political development. We've never seen this kind of rallying around a candidate. This election has gotten fun and hopefully will mean the political end of Donald J. Trump. Independents have found their candidate.

He'll come up with some nickname he thinks is clever, and his supporters will eat it up and find it funny. Trump now is the oldest person to ever run for president, so the age question shifts to him, as does the focus on what he says. We are just beginning to see what appears to be a very good presidential candidate in Harris, her cheerfulness and her smiles, particularly when she's sticking it to Trump like she did in her speech. She's quickly garnering the black vote, the women vote and perhaps even the young-adult vote. What a remarkable turnabout in a presidential campaign. Can't wait to see whom she picks as a running mate.

Joe Biden drops out of Presidential Race

Can't wait to see what Rachel Maddow has to say about all this in an hour. Just reading this thread - so much of it racist and misogynistic - has made it clear that Trump supporters are seriously underestimating what started yesterday. Wouldn't be surprised if Trump avoided debating her. She'd rip him to shreds. Part of her campaign will look like a prosecution of Trump.

    My Dream Foursome…

Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.” You're so full of hate. Jesus was about love, compassion and forgiveness. Be more like him.

    Happy Pride Month

Thank you, sir. We've seemed to have found some common ground. Yes, mental illness is rampant in the LGBTQ community, and I've had my struggles here and there over the years. There are those in the LGBTQ who are perverted and/or pushy, but my partner and I avoid all that and are doing the best we can to raise our kids as loving, tolerant and mentally healthy human beings. We're not perfect. We fight like couples do from time to time, but we stay the course and continue to find higher, more-meaningful ground. We run across hate and intolerance and respond to that with the best of who we are in hopes of finding the common ground and mutual understand you and I have seem to have found today. Thank you. Love you, brother.

So transgenders threaten your gender identity and sexual preferences? If they have, perhaps you should explore these things instead of suppressing it. You'd be a mentally healthier person. I don't agree with transgender women competing in women's sports. They should have their own category, same with women who identify as men. It kind of ends here with me. Men, women, transgender men, transgender women. You can't have too much sports, right? I support legal action if trans women are discriminated against because of who they are. Women fought for the right to vote, equal pay and the right to chose what they do with their bodies. Ultra conservatives have taken away that last part in so many places in our country, and shame on them for doing so. You confuse "mutation" with what has been around since the dawn of mankind. It's just not as oppressed and discriminated against. I love me. You choose to be a heterosexual man, so be fine with me being a trans woman, and we'll all get along just fine. It's all good in the humanity hood. Love wins!

    Happy Pride Month

I'd love to have a beer with you and enlighten you on the complexity of transgenderism. It isn't some mental decision. Our bodies are complex, and it's not about DNA. It's about hormones that lead to brain structures that are different from assigned sex at birth. This happens during fetal development. It's not the trans person's fault, nor is it mental illness, that their bodily chemicals and brain functions tell them they're the opposite sex. You were born with your brain and body telling you that you're male. I was born with my brain and body telling me I was female, despite being born with a twig and berries, which remain intact and fully functional. If you saw me walking down the street, you almost break your neck checking me out. I'm told I'm beautiful, so who cares what lurks beneath my panties? Imagine if you being born male and identifying as male is not the societal norm, and you grow up listening to adults and playground kids mocking heterosexual males. You'd be pretty messed up psychologically by the time you get to adulthood. This is where mental illness lies, the product of indirect emotional abuse and the shame that comes with it. I'm certainly against it being legal for anyone under 21 to undergo gender-altering surgery and even hormone therapy. Grow up and see where you are but get emotional support in the meantime. But if that's what they choose with their bodies, I don't see it much differently than cosmetic surgery or even getting tattoos. Why people feel threatened by all this is something I still have trouble trying to understand. I'm fine with you as long as you're fine with me. We both love fantasy football, so we've already got common ground.
