I find this forum wildly entertaining thanks to trans obsession and phobia.

Being trans is no more of a mental disorder than you identifying yourself as a male. I knew I was a girl very early in childhood. Again, back to the education component. Here's a good start: https://www.hrc.org/resources/transgender-children-and-youth-understanding-the-basics

While being in the LGBTQ world in and of itself doesn't classify as a mental illness, those in this community do suffer a higher percentage of mental disorders in society. However, this is largely due to a childhood spent silently listening to identity rejection, disgust, hate and sometimes violence. One grows up listening to the neighborhood parents bashing gays and childhood friends mimicking their parents and calling each other queer, particularly the boys. This creates a storm of shame, confusion and fear inside the mind of a poor kid who knows he/she isn't the same as those around them. That leads to mental illness. It is emotional abuse by definition. Children who witness spousal abuse in their homes and suffer abuse themselves have the same fate. When it comes to the LGTBQ community, addressing the causes rather than the symptoms provides the key to getting a grip on the cycle of mental illness. That means education, understanding, love and acceptance. Hate and rejection only serve to exacerbate the problem, which so many of you here continue to do to the point of obsession. It is you who needs help, not me.

Just wait until we roll into your home town and whap every angry white middle-aged male we can find with our purses and feather boas. Then we'll round up all your children and turn the boys into girls and girls into boys. After that, we'll celebrate with some White Claw and show tunes.

You guys crack me up with your roiling transphobia. I'd love to see you apply your viewpoint of the actions of a few being the actions of many to your world of cranky middle-aged white men who are appauled at the rapidly evolving world around them.

Most of this board's members should read this book and get a better understanding of our community. It will neither make you gay, nor will it make your children gay. It's all going to be OK. Life is too short to spend it with all this hate and paranoia. -

I'm very much real. A forum member whom I've known for a long time invited me to sign up awhile back. I'm in this person's fantasy league. I've been anonymously following this forum for months and decided to sign up after my fantasy league went keeper, and I had a question about that. This member warned me about the rampant transphobia here, and I familiarized myself with it before signing on. I'm sure most if not all of you are solid people in real life. I have hope that we can find some common ground and have meaningful discussions. Don't worry. I won't bite. -

You've underscored my point. I was born a woman. I am a woman. Just because the parts don't match in the traditional sense of your paradigm doesn't make me anything other than that. It's what I am, and it's complicated. I felt confusion and shame my entire childhood until I accepted who I am. I'm not mentally ill. I'm not depraved. I'm not immoral. Also, I love fantasy football and have been in a great league for a long time, and I've won it a few times, so at least we have that in common, although my league went to a keeper format this year, so I'm at a loss to figure out which player to keep. I'm fit, gorgeous, healthy, successful and mentally tough. I'm proud of who I am as a person, but I'm also humble, empathetic, grateful and feel blessed. I'm a good person and want to make our world a better place. -

Is it mental illness that you identify yourself as a male? Mental illness does run rampant in the LGBT community, and outside factors during childhood and beyond impact that. For some, life feels like a never-ending episode of "Black Mirror." I've had my share of brushes with mental illness, but I'm blessed and grateful, a white-collar business professional who works in management in a large corporation. My partner and I have two adopted children, one of them special needs, and are in the pipeline for adopting a third child. I serve on several non-profit boards, and my partner and I donate to a variety of causes and volunteer in the community, all in the name of making the world a better place. You should open your mind to a broader perspective. -

You don't like us because you don't know us. There are good and bad elements with us, and it's no different than anyone else, straight white men included. And what do you mean by "nutjobs gone?" As in rounded up and executed? You sound pretty transphobic to me, if what you'd like to see is extermination of the LGBT community. It's not going away, so perhaps you should approach it from a position other than violence and hatred. Give us a chance. We certainly have given people like you a chance. -

You guys and your transphobia make me laugh. Perhaps you should take the time to know and understand a trans woman before you pass down judgment from your moral high ground. I read the thread about transgenderism being a mental illness, but I don't have an issue with it being seen from a mental-health perspective. This isn't the case with me, but many trans women were abused as children, grew up in a state of fear and confusion and have had quite an uphill battle in life. My parents were great and understanding. They kind of knew early on that something was different about me. People are who they are based on their biology and the chemicals flowing around in them. This is why medication can ease anxiety, depression and other issues. I suppose I could take testosterone to kept the trans woman in me in check, but I'm happy with who I am, a successful white-colar professional born with a twig and berries but identifies as a woman. And, lol, I have no desire to turn your kids into transgender people or go down to the library to read during children's story hour. I think some within the transgender community pick the wrong hills upon which to plant their flags. The real power is through making the world a better place - philanthropically, professionally, politically, economically, etc. -
As a trans woman myself, I'm in 100 percent in agreement with this.

I've enjoyed "Bridgerton" and tonight enjoyed the first episode of the spinoff, "Queen Charlotte." It's like "Ted Lasso" in that it's light-hearted, feel-good and nothing ever really bad happens. Sometimes that's a sorely needed thing in our world. If you guys want to enjoy something with your wives, go with this!

He was such a good man and father. I miss him. People my age have no idea how great the music was back in my daddy's day. He'll always be my daddy. I sat by his side and held his hand as he passed away. If you have a big heart for cats, you're OK with me. And I dance, dance, dance and I dance, dance, dance. -

My daddy raised me on classic rock and absolutely hated the direction rock music took in the 1980s, so perhaps that had something to do with it. He hated Bon Jovi, and I've never liked what I heard. I don't understand the Aerosmith hate. Everything from "Toys in the Attic" through "Night in the Ruts" is classic, and I actually like "Rock in a Hard Place," despite the absence of Joe Perry and all that. While everyone else was listening to CDs and then streaming, my daddy and I listened to his vinyl, so it was like I got to experience 1970s music the way it was meant to be experienced. I sure miss him. -
Thank you, and I meant Justin Herbert. Someone said I should keep him, and I'm like, um, I don't thinks so. I'm loaded at RB because I already had a deep RB stable, and then team owners desperate to pick up active RBs and dropping players such as Hall to make room allowed me to pick up guys who might be top picks this year. Chubb and Lamb intrigue me as well.

It's OK, love. I'll listen. In all this soul turmoil from which you are suffering, something inside me says there is some truth and reality in your knowledge and instincts. I'm cautiously listening.
