I also think prequels don't do that well typically unless they're tied to some monster IP. I'll be a movie that took place after Fury Road and continued the story, not necessarily with the same exact characters, would have done pretty well. But these movies were never going to make giant BO anyway. As well liked as Fury Road was it only made $150M domestic and $225M international. Deadpool is going to do monster business. I'll be Inside Out 2 does well also.
