It's a lagging indicator that takes half a year at least to matriculate its way through the economy and trigger the indicator. Trump's unprecedented spending and destruction of supply chains clearly caused the inflation that took hold the minute Biden took office. Biden's team should have been messaging this from day one but they're dumb and they should have been taking credit for how inflation is well under control now thanks to Biden and the Fed's efforts. By the logic of most americans and all cultist the economic shutdown that Obama fixed was Obama's fault.
