    I missed Chesters 95 yarder

reminiscent of Bo Jackson, many a years ago on a monday night. Not as explosive, but you get the point. Bo just took 3 steps and the DBs were looking behind them. Man, what would have been if he didn't get hurt...

Are you on the crack cocaine?!? He's lucky to be a flex player at this stage. I'd rather start Jherico Crotchery than him at flex...

    To All Edge owners

time to throw in the towel?!? time to throw in the towel?!? I'm 0-6 in a league I took him at 1.07 in, with atleast 5 games lost by less than 10 pts. PPR league no less. He singlehandedly ruined my season in that league. Throw that towel in your pipe and smoke it!

    the edge!

at this stage, i'd rather have jamal lewis as my #1... ruined my whole league single handedly. Lost every week by less than 10 pts, pts he should have put up. Unequivical biggest bust of the year...

    F. Taylor pondering retirement

hmm, this might explain the strange decision to get drew-jones so many touches when fred isn't even hurt. They're screwing him on some incentives, most likely involving touches/game. If that is the case, they are douche beyond belief. When healthy, which he is right now, he is a top notch back, with all sorts of breakaway ability, inside running ability, and pass catching ability. Complete back. All year i've been wondering how a rook is getting touches when fred is healthy. This explains it...

    Matt Jones Hit's your WW

It's time to cut losses with Matt Jones. Thats the problem with fantasy football players, especially in regards to palyers certain individuals thought themselves to 'be in on' Sleeper types. People fall so in love with the concept of stealing such players in later rounds, that they continue to hang onto hope of said players performing, so the geeks can pat themselves on the back and tell others 'told ya so' Get over it. For every Matt Jones you thought you were in on, there's a colston that someone else grabbed off the WW, and there's a ronnie brown that everyone was wrong on. It's the nature of FF. Best approach is to have a short memory. Taking studs aside, if any other player hasn't done much for you in 3 weeks, it's time to let him go. Obviously players like SA are beyond that, but mid rounders, gotta cut ties. I cut ties with Jamal Lewis in 2 leagues, and am trying to get rid of him in a 3rd. I thought I got a steal in the mid-late 3rd in each league grabbing him. Grabbed McNair too. With McNair they'll be high powered. They got a rb, te, and decent receivers. Guess what, it's week 7, jamal sucks and McNair sucks worse. I'm not holding onto them in hopes of them turning it around so I can pat myself on the back. Gotta get over it and move on. The matt jones thing is out of control. Guys crying every week whether they should start him, this that. Week 4 and you don't have a better option at wr than jones?!? Crazy talk...

  13. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/18/sports/f...l/18giants.html Giants running back Tiki Barber, the leading rusher in the N.F.L. this season, said yesterday that he was likely to retire at season’s end to pursue his ample off-field opportunities. During a promotional book tour in Manhattan, Barber said he was “leaning toward” retiring, and that he had “pretty much” made up his mind. Asked what would force him to reconsider, he said, “Nothing.” Barber stopped short of announcing his retirement from football. His business agent, Mark Lepselter, who manages Barber’s off-field career, said it was possible that Barber could change his mind. “He’s seriously leaning toward it,” Lepselter said of retirement. “I think he feels he’s perfected his craft, in a way, and is ready for something else.” Ernie Accorsi, the Giants’ general manager, said yesterday that he did not want to comment on Barber’s retirement plans until he heard them from Barber. “You do not replace Tiki Barber, he’s a Hall of Famer,” Accorsi said. “You have to go beyond the statistics to completely appreciate him, but I think he qualifies on numbers alone.” Accorsi, who had announced that he would retire after this season, said Barber was multitalented on and off the field. “Frankly, it would be terrific for both of us to go out with a Super Bowl,” Accorsi said. Barber, 31, is the leading rusher in Giants history and has been named to the Pro Bowl the past two seasons. This season, he has rushed for 533 yards, including 186 in Sunday’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons. But he admitted that he had been particularly sore after a couple of games this season, and that his body needed more time now to recover from the weekly beating it took. Barber, who is married and has two toddler-age sons, would also like to be the rare football player who retires while still being considered one of the game’s best. “For the longest time, I thought I had to win a Super Bowl to define my career,” Barber said. “I would like to, but I don’t have to, because I can walk away knowing I did the best I could.” He says he has spent most of his career pondering his post-playing days, which he hopes will begin with a career in television. Among other side jobs — as a radio talk-show host, a children’s book author and general man about town — he spends Tuesday mornings as a co-host of “Fox & Friends,” a general news program on Fox News. But his contract with Fox expires in January, and negotiations with other networks can begin in November. It may be a case of fortuitous timing for Barber, even helping to push him toward ending his playing career. Lepselter said the major networks, including Fox, had expressed interest in Barber’s broadcasting talents, and he was confident that Barber would retire from football and slide into a high-profile television job. “Without a doubt,” Lepselter said. “There’s not even a shred of doubt in my mind.” Part of what makes Barber different is that he has little interest in becoming a sports broadcaster. He would rather break the pattern of most other retiring athletes and move full time into news, ideally serving as a host of a morning news program. Originally a second-round draft choice of the Giants in 1997, Barber is under contract with the Giants through the 2008 season. On July 28, at the beginning of training camp, Barber said he would not finish the contract, and that he expected to play only another season or two. He has not told the Giants of a plan to retire after this season. If he retires, he will miss out on a scheduled base salary of $4.15 million for each of the next two seasons, the same salary he will earn this season, according to the N.F.L. Players Association. In 2005, Barber gained a career-high 1,860 yards rushing on 357 carries, and caught 54 passes for another 530 yards. The combined 2,390 yards was the second-highest single-season total in league history. Barber, with 9,320 career rushing yards, is in line to become the 19th or 20th player in N.F.L. history to reach 10,000 yards. Among active players nearing the milestone, he trails Arizona’s Edgerrin James, who has 9,624 yards. Barber spent yesterday on the book tour with his twin brother, Ronde, a cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two appeared on several morning news shows and later signed copies of their latest children’s book, “Teammates,” at a Manhattan bookstore.

    Addai ...colts rb situation

fantasy 'expert' morons running around claiming addai will take over as featured back, and going a step further to give you the exact date. I haven't seen anything in the first gew games that would cause dungy to change things. Both have been effective enough, and neither has outshined the other. Its a case of 'if it aint broke, don't try and fix it'

Is Heath Miller even worth a roster spot?

TEs, outside of like 2 or 3, are a crapshoot every week. Even the crumplers and cooleys and McMichaels aren't producing so far this year. And them boom, 2 good weeks and they're on top of the rankings for TEs. Nature of the position. I'm holding on and starting him every week...
  17. He will become the 19th or 20th player in league history to go over 10000 yards, so I think he is. Maybe not a 'no brainer' but he should get in. The fact that he's a nice guy will most likely also help his cause. Good for him, class act...

    Kevin Jones

kj is 6th in my league that doesn't even have ppr! 1pt/20 yards, and tds, nothing else. Behind LT Westy Portis LJ FWP Pretty damn solid, and the schedule is weak. I guess Martz ball is coming together over there. Kitna has performed well, and Roy is playing hard. Furrey gives them a decent second option. I just hope they stay in games so they run enough. KJ has the skills to be a star back in the league, just needs to get out from under the mess that is detroit. Looks like they're heading in the right direction, offensively anyways. If they only learned to win games...

    Giants utterly overrated

Listen, I'm not going to get into a pissing match over here. He is a great back, I stated that in the 1st post! Is he worthy of a #4, no. Granted 1/2 the top 10 have been flops, but based on the fact that he has a big time rb behind him that is going to be used on the goalline makes him less attractive. I realized they called his td back because he stepped out of bounds, and edited an earlier post also. Trust me I watched the game, and trust me they are overrated. Eli is not that great, even with everyone jocking him. If you watched any part of any Atlanta games, and I am assuming you watches atleast the monday nighter, their offense is pretty dismal, outside vick trying to run up a muck. They gave up a 90 yarder to dunn where the d was abysmal, shouldn't have gone for a 90 yard td. Vick with his td run, poorly defended. All this with close to zero passing ability by the falcons. On offense, they ran hard, and they will continue to run hard. That is their bread and butter. But that doesn't mean the team as a whole is not overrated. I'll bookmark this thread, and we can discuss down the road. Maybe overreaction on my part after 1 game, maybe on yours after 1 game. We shall see...

    Giants utterly overrated

how do you figure i didn't watch the game? I live in jersey and watch ever jets and giants game. I love when people have opinions about what games other people watch when they don't even watch the people watching the games... PS: My comment about tiki was strictly in fantasy terms, Team Revell. Also note I stated that I don't believe him not to be great, I think he is great. And yes that 1-2 punch running game is solid, as good as any in the league, but him at #4 when BJ will vulture about 5-10 tds off him is a bust. Has been so far for the 1st 5 games, and will be at the end of the year, you can't logically disagree with that... EDIT: He didn't even score his 1st td, they took that away from him. Great back, but not worthy of #4 overall...

    Tatum Bell

I think the issue at hand is that the broncos offense as a whole is uninpressive, which will obviously make tatum look uninpressive. That might have been the most boring game I've ever seen. I've seen low scoring games, but they were not necessarily boring, just good defensive battles. This game had nothing going for it. Denver actually gave up some chunks of yards and could very easily have lost that game if not for a play or 3...

    Giants utterly overrated

Big Blue is still overrated. They beat an overrated Atl game, in which Eli once again looked pretty terrible. Tiki ran off nice yardage, but scored only 1 td, his 1st of the season, while getting vultured by jacobs once. Seems about right for what I wrote regarding him going at #4 no? Tiki at #4 is going to be a mega bust, not because he isn't great, he is. But Jacobs will vulture him and they'll be playing from behind a lot this year...

Why Herm Edwards should be fired

HAHAHA. While I don't condone comparing football to combat, this basically sums it up. I recall many a game with the jets. Key games during the season, playoff games, anything involving pressure. He'd be talkin up a storm all week. Talkin such a game it made me want to jump out of a window and run to the meadowlands to play for him. Players would be fired up all week long, talkin their game in line with his. Game would come, and they would be very fired up to play, but coaching would absolutely suck! Time mgmt, horrible. Creativity, 0. A lot of people for a lot of time praised him for getting the jets to the playoffs, and deep into the playoffs. I look at it the other way. He blew a chance to get into the SB, taking a win in Pittsburg in january, a feat that is basically impossible. He did get them there, I won't discount that, but they could have went further. That's why I was happy to see him go. He had no ability to grow beyond where he already had been with the jets. I knew he'd be a mockery in KC. He's gonna run LJ into the ground, and lose close games they should be winning by 10 if only he'd open up the offense a bit. And those late close games, good luck with the timeouts and such. Good luck...
