  1. Vermiel also said today that there is no starting #2 reciever , its rotation.

    http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2005/10/26/qa...ach_vermeilsd1/

Q: Regarding the rotation at wide receiver that you used last week to replace Samie Parker: would you prefer to go with one guy at that position?

VERMEIL: “We have really always rotated receivers. Sometimes it’s not by design but by exhaustion. A guy gets tired blocking and running and sometimes he takes himself out. We allow that. By design we have starters and a guy who substitutes from time to time, or a third receiver for a nickel or a fourth receiver for a quad. With the situation the way it is right now with both (receivers) pretty equal in quality and both a little bit different, sometimes they go in and we substitute by design by what we’re doing.”

Q: Are any of those guys capable of being a full-time starter?

    VERMEIL: “With us they are.”

Q: So you would leave them out there for the majority of the snaps?

VERMEIL: “Sure. Who else are we going to put there? We’ve got to put 11 guys on the field.”

Q: I mean, as opposed to rotating them?

VERMEIL: “We’d probably rotate ‘em to keep them fresher.”

  2. ANd Trent Green says in an interview today that they will rotate the position

    http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2005/10/26/qa..._trent_green1a/

Q: WR Samie (Parker) has been in and out at wide receiver. Does that make it any more difficult with different guys coming in and out at the spot he plays?

GREEN: “It would if it wasn’t for the guys who have been here for awhile. WR Chris (Horn), WR Marc (Boerigter) and WR Dante (Hall) are the three guys rotating at that position. They guys that have been in the system it would be different if it was a rookie or free agent that I don’t have a lot of timing with or haven’t worked with a lot in the past but the fact that the three of them have been rotating at that spot.”

Q: WR Dante Hall is obviously going to play a little bit more than he has been. Is it hard to get him the ball just because of his size?

GREEN: “It just depends on the routes you’re the specific routes your trying to throw him the ball. Obviously he does a lot of things great because of his change of direction. His ability to speed in and out of cuts. He can create windows of opportunity that other receivers can’t so there is an upside and a downside just like with any receiver.”

Q: By contrast in certain situations is WR Marc Boerigter easier to throw to because of his size?

GREEN: “Depending on the route and situation

  3. Sports Illustrated seems to think he is a good pick up

Looking for a WR sleeper this late in the season? How about taking a flier on Marc Boerigter. Boerigter, who was targeted seven times on Friday night, was a trendy sleeper a couple of years ago, but was derailed by injuries. He looks to have his speed back and since Eddie Kennison seems to be playing hide-and-seek rather than football, Boerigter could emerge as a respectable option for the remainder of the season

  4. Boerigter Started last Friday. Vermiel said that he will start Bo but he will not get all the playing time as Horn and Dante Hall. And that is what happened Friday.

Bo had 2 receptions , Hall had 3 and Horn had 1. Both of his receptions were in the first half , Dante Hall was the stater in the second half.

I have always been a huge fan of Bo's but not sure VErmiel will ever let him be the man there.

Calico on the other hand is a good play with Bennett and Jones out.

The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Josh McCown will be their starting quarterback at Dallas this Sunday.

"It (hiding who the starting quarterback will be) was just a tactic that we used last week but we don't feel like we need to use it this week," McCown said. "I'm up this week and I'm going to prepare as hard as I can and play as hard as I can."

McCown holds off Kurt Warner, who began practicing at full speed last week after missing the last three games because of a right groin tear. McCown has started all eight games the Cardinals have won since 2004.

This season, McCown has completed 88 of 152 passes (57.5 percent) for 1,072 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions.

  6. Seems every WR does well against StLouis.

Im not saying to start him over a good option but if you like me and got a hurt Brandon Jones and non performing Antonio Bryant might be worth a shot as your #3 receiver. Unless Brandon Jones makes a recovery I am starting him over bryant who keeps getting big zeros' There is no one on that team who can cover Jones or J Smith . Leftwhich should throw for a ton. should be shoot out and Jones did score his first TD last week.

Big tall reciever do extremlly well against Stlouis

    Boldin 8-119

    Fitz 4-70

    Bennett 6-96

    Plaxico 10-204 (2 TD)

    Jurevicius 9-137 (1TD)

    J Stevens 3-65 (1TD)

Actually all recievers d well against them.

  7. They say Barlow is fine and listed as probable.

The Contra Costa Times reports the 49ers are listing Barlow as probable for Week 8's game against the Buccaneers

I know people got burned by him last year but he is putting up numbers and running hard this year.

In our league he has put up 10-7-10-6-12-11 points. Nice # 3 back numbers and a guy you use on bye weeks. Forgetting about Fantasy he is running for 4.2 yards a carry and 15 receptions for 115 yards and averaging 8 yards a catch. Not bad

Hey he has more fantasy points than Jamal Lewis , Fred Taylor , Kevin Jones , AHaman Green & TJ Ducket . Guys who were drafted rounds before him so his value is better than where he was drafted. These are guys some people are using as there #1 or #2 backs so it kinda puts it in perspective.

And why do people think they want to see a youth movment in SF . How old do people think Barlow is .Hes 26 years old not 36.

  8. The sporting news sees it differently

    Nate Burleson - WR, Minnesota

Coach Mike Tice told the St. Paul Pioneer-Press that Burleson (knee) will play Sunday, but that he isn't ready to "go a full game."

Fantasy Source spin: If you're planning on starting Burleson -- and that isn't a bad idea against the Packers -- don't worry too much. He simply will need a breather every now and then during Vikings' drives. He shouldn't sit for any extended periods of time

  9. Maybe I will play it safer and go with Brandon Jones.

The Pioneer Press reports Vikings head coach Mike Tice said Nate Burleson (knee) will play in Week 7, but he is not ready for a full game. "I don't think he could take a 12-play drive," Tice said. "I think he's going to have to pace himself a little bit. Get himself a good spurt of plays, and then take himself out and let the pain go away, and then go back in. I think that's how he's going to have to handle it."
