Need more info. Were the parents criminals or have a criminal past? Were the parents paying income taxes and contributing to society? If they aren’t criminals or in trouble with the law(other than being undocumented) I thought we were rounding up the criminals first? If they are tax paying non citizens, at least they’re productive members of society, I think they should’ve been left alone. if they’re freeloading drains on society, I have no sympathy one way or the other with their fate

As for your other question: Egg prices are significantly higher than chicken prices because the chickens raised for eggs (egg-laying hens) are different from the chickens raised for meat (broilers), and recent outbreaks of bird flu have disproportionately impacted egg-laying hens, leading to a much larger drop in egg supply compared to chicken meat supply; it takes longer to replace a flock of egg-laying hens than broiler chickens, further exacerbating the price difference.
