My thoughts exactly. 2 different injuries to a kicker causing him to miss games in less than a year. Barely held on to win by a point and a half this week with Legatron's surprise goose egg. But he's such a weapon on that team now. Head and shoulders above any other kicker for fantasy purposes. Led the league in scoring by a wide margin last year despite missing 2 games. Gotta hold onto him if your league has an injury slot or you can afford the dead roster spot for a few weeks. Picking up Ficken to hold down the fort just because I expect the scoring volume for the Rams to remain very high. Good offense combined with short fields because of an excellent defense.

    Gordon to Pats...

This could go any which way. He could never play a game for the Pats and get waived in a couple of weeks. Or he could become a monster with Brady throwing the ball. I will say that it is the best possible landing spot for Gordon, without a doubt. If he washes out again, it wont be because the heavens didn't open up for him and bless him with an unbelievable opportunity.

Maybe. But Gruden today said that Lynch became ill after the Raiders first drive. Did that limit his usage thereafter? Guess we'll find out moving forward.

    Waiver Wire receiver

Golladay is definitely the guy who jumps off the page at me who is probably available in a lot of leagues. High volume passing offense. Bad team that will play from behind a lot. Tate and Jones being middling talents who shouldn't be able to hold back a more dynamic player. And then Grant in Indy. Again, high volume passing offense on a bad team that will be behind a lot. I'm not completely sold on Enunwa. Still a rookie QB there. That usually spells a lot of up and down passing performances.

I hear the concern about his age for a running back and I get it. I used to stay away from RBs who were even 29-30. But Lynch hasn't shown anything on the field to suggest that he's a broken down player on his last leg. He looks like the same player he's always been. His YPC last year was right on his career average- for a lousy team, no less. This isn't Demarco Murray from last year. Also, the fact that Lynch took basically a year and a half off prior to last season means he's probably fresher than a normal 32-year-old back who's been grinding it out non-stop without a break. Until he shows on the field that he's lost something, I'm just not that interested in the age factor. It's a different world now with sports medicine and training techniques. Guys play at high level deep into their 30s now.

He was excellent down the stretch last season. Probably a top 10 RB from week 9 onward. We'll see if it takes the Raiders a month and a half again to remember who their best player is.

Derrick Henry - Concern or no concern?

Yeah, week 1 is always one of the most anomalous weeks of the season. And then add on top of that the weird weather delays that impacted this particular game. My suspicion is that Henry is going to be a boom or bust player all year, depending on game script. If he gets established early and/or the Titans get a lead, he will have a 20-25 touch game. If he sputters out of the gate and/or the Titans are playing from behind, he will have some 10-touch stinkers like yesterday. It's also worth noting that, though Lewis played 16 games last year, he's a smallish back and has not been a durable player throughout his career. The likelihood of him missing some stretch of games is pretty high.

    Crabtree owners?

Guys like Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin had productive years with Flacco. I see Crabtree as another guy in that mold- a reliable veteran possession receiver with good hands. 850 - 1,000 yards, 5-7 TDs. You could do a lot worse for a WR3.

Who will be waiver wire gold this year?

I've been a little surprised at what I've seen as the underrating of Goff heading into this season. The Rams seem to me to be a pretty good offense that's going to score a lot of points. 2 or more TDs in 8 of his last 9 outings last year, only laying an egg against Minnesota, one of the top defenses. Maybe people just can't forget how bad Goff was two years ago. But they certainly forgot about it with Gurley. Then again, I was real high on Mariota coming into last season, and Bortles the year before that, so... Maybe tempering expectations about a young QB following up a breakout season is the correct call.

Jaylen Samuels PITT - RB/TE - Sneaky Value?

Maybe the guy will be heard from and maybe he won't. But one of the oldest pitfalls in Fantasy is to put too much stock into performance in preseason games. You should almost never change your evaluation of a player significantly based on this. Samuels is still a 3rd or 4th string RB with two very capable and healthy guys ahead of him.

    Derrick Henry

This Tennessee team is a headache. The last time Murray was this gimpy and barely practiced and looked like he might shut it down for a few weeks and everybody was loading up on Henry in their lineup...Murray started and had his best game of the season and Henry disappeared. Murray has been on a bad wheel since August and apparently neither he nor the team are smart enough to rest him. Just keep running the guy on one leg all year.
  12. That's some disingenuous bulls**t from Tomlin, even by his low standards. As far as I know, it's unprecedented for a team in a major pro league in the U.S. to not come out for the anthem. His team is making a historic political statement today.

    Buck Allen Outlook ROS?

3?! Wow, Allen wasn't even close. What an abortion by Baltimore today.
  14. What did you expect? Ha called players "sons of b*****s" and called out an NBA player by name. He did that. For real. You're going to see acts of player solidarity everywhere. This is only the beginning.

    Buck Allen Outlook ROS?

What is the all-time record for fewest yards gained by a player with 5 or more catches in a game? Is it less than 13?
  16. So, what's the next level of this? Steelers staying in the locker room for the anthem today. Who will one-up that? Glove-fisted solutes, a la '68 Olympics? Signs and banners? Going to be a real s**t show now. Even Trump toadies like Kraft and Rex Ryan are on board.

Ravens at Jaguars (London): In-Game Discussion

The atrocious quality of games in the NFL so far this season continues...
  18. If Trump's objective was to truly to stop these player demonstrations and not just make himself the center of attention, then he did exactly the wrong thing with his remarks. Now, a lot of individuals who may have opposed or at least been ambivalent about the demonstrations are going to join in as a middle finger to Trump himself. He just sent this movement into overdrive. Seeing a report right now that the Steelers will stay in the locker room during the anthem. The flood gate is opened.

Hurns Lee and the Bortles effect

Stayed away from Lee because of Bortles, but kinda wishing I hadn't. Looks like he could be a target magnet as the only competent receiver there.

Do you trust Diggs or Thielen

How do the Vikings not have a better option at backup QB knowing that their starter has knees held together with scotch tape and some string? Good grief.

Well, hopefully about 10 catches in garbage time coming for Allen.

4 yards passing by Flacco in the 1st half? Is that a mistake?

Aaron Hernandez Found to Have Severe C.T.E.

The leather helmet thing is silly. Players are bigger and faster now by orders of magnitude. We'd go from talking about concussions to talking about on-field fatalities. You want to get serious: --Ban the sport at youth levels until players reach an age when they are capable of making informed consent (18?). Bye bye high school football. --Shorten the seasons and games at all levels to at least reduce players' lifetime exposure to hits. Other than that, there is not much to do here short of outlawing the sport entirely.

Aaron Hernandez Found to Have Severe C.T.E.

For anyone now to say that they don't understand it's a major health hazard to smash your head into the heads of other 250 lb men is laughable. Maybe players from decades passed have a beef, but not the current guys. My 6-year-old who plays soccer is not even aloud to head a ball inflated with air, for chrissakes. Lots of people engage knowingly in risky occupations and hobbies. That's a decision that people have the right to make.

    Buck Allen Outlook ROS?

In what league did T.West have 1,000 / 4.3 rushing last year, the California Penal League? Because it wasn't the NFL. Point is, there is nothing special - and now nothing healthy - ahead of Allen on the depth chart. It's all about opportunity.
