Agree. Hence my support for abortion, as noted many times over. I see the act as a societal "good".

The Truthful State of the Election: Landslide confirmed...310 plus EV for Trump!
RLLD replied to jonmx's topic in The Geek Club
I think we can point to the importance of abortion to a large extent. And then past that you might find that people are immovable on their politics. No matter what you show them they will insist their original position remains the proper one. I think people struggle to admit they were wrong, across our society. In part the problem arises that the hysteria they create is tough to unwind. Once you label a group of people as evil and fascist....how do you draw back down from that? Liberals view anything outside of their bubble as evil, that is a stark line to draw.....do you dare flirt with that line? Do you dare moderate at all? How can you moderate toward something you have defined as the worse evil in the world? Liberalism is more cult that political movement. -
Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

I hope someone takes every single lie trotted out by the Democrats and their puppets in the media and asks aloud periodically....."well, any update on this hysterical prognostication???" That would be fantastic. There should also be a hierarchy to it. The opportunity here is that we can show the people just how manipulative and dishonest these folks have been, so they can start to ignore them more and more. -
I have to agree with this. In every election I think we can find instances where one or both sides did this. It really needs to stop. We can disagree on policy prescriptions without assigning intent or reason to the person.

Do MOST voters vote emotionally towards their party?
RLLD replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
I think many do, not sure if its most or "alot"..... I think politicians are skilled manipulators, backed by a cadre of practiced used car salesmen..... I think they gauge what people are afraid of, and play into that fear to the fullest possible extent. What we miss....no longer have....... is a media that calls them out on it. -

Its a conundrum. I think the process is expensive and long, but then again anything the government runs will have those two factors in abundance. I wish that process were better and people could more easily use it; though we simply MUST vet out the "bad" people who might do it for the wrong reasons or are otherwise unfit. I think abortion should be accessible to all women. I do not want to pay for it, or help them pay for it. Anyone who does not have the money to pay for a pack of condoms and decides to use abortion as their birth control can pay for their own way......period. But I want women to have access to it, with reasonable restraints.

I hope you are right. Looking back at her history, she is unfit......just simply and plainly....unfit..... -
Pump your brakes.... I would not be inclined to use the markets as an indication of anything. Moreover, there is work to be done. And in order to fix the damage done, we have to be ready to face some challenges. Enjoy the day, by all means, but just understand that all the focked up sh!t Democrats have done over the last four years will NOT be easy to fix.

I think both can, and do, hold primaries....but the Democrats do not let the people decide, THEY decide the candidate..... Democrats think people are stupid, easily manipulated and simply do as they please....like true totalitarians around the world. -
I want to enjoy a box of popcorn as I watch Harris confirm a "fascist" into power....

The lawfare will end. After this term they wont really pursue that any further as there will be no political benefit for it. I presume that Democrats will simply shift gears and abuse the process of impeachment if they resume dominance in the house. -

I do not share your optimism. I see this less as a tactic so much as a fight or flight response. I think liberals are indoctrinated to think those who do not share their views as being evil, and apply labels to them in a weird form of admonishment for not being compliant. -

No matter what happens tonight, I believe we can all celebrate the departure of Mitch McConnell…. -
I believe there was already mention of them doing so...apparently the whole "protecting Democracy" thing is only relevant when it can be weaponized against their ideological opponents. I will find it ENTIRELY entertaining if Harris has to certify the election for the man she called a fascist. Which is of course a complete lie......she knows he is not, but lying and dividing people through fear and intimidation is how Democrats roll nowadays.

I did not say perfect, I said solid, and it absolutely was. Not just MY words, even the media who hate Trump lamented his prowess in handing Biden a good situation...... And then Biden systematically ruined things, and not just for us during that time.....his damage will haunt us for years to come, playing with inflation is like playing with nuclear weapons.....profoundly stupid..... it takes years......just focking years....to unwind the damage caused by inflation
-
He handed Biden a solid economy with low inflation. Then Biden took actions that were profoundly stupid and which harmed Americans, but did not need to take those actions. There you go.
-
Biden.....mismanaged the situation, then lied when his failures became apparent.....which means.....he did not move to deal with it, instead he lied about it...allowing it to continue....and get worse....and then he lied more.....and later, when lying no longer worked, he called it transitional......again not acting and delaying....missing opportunities to mute it.... and then he pushed legislation that would be like throwing gas on on it,,,,making it FAR......FAR worse.... and THEN......the dumb motherfockers tried to push ANOTHER bill to make it even worse, and Manchin saved him from his own stupidity... His mismanagement of the situation is almost too extreme and bad to be called a mistake. What he did to the average American, is simply unforgivable.
-
You should perhaps be careful what you believe, Biden has lied profusely about inflation, even CNN has called him out on these lies. We also know that Inflation fell from 2.5% in January 2020 to a low of 0.1% in May 2020 Biden so badly mangled the rather beneficial situation he was handed that he delivered the largest 12-month increase in approximately 40 years. His failures were historic.
-
Every president influences inflation, its part and parcel of the role. The distinguishing feature being that Biden inherited a good inflationary situation and then took action to make it less good, then lied to us about it.....then put in place bills that took a bad situation and made it horrible, then continued to lie about it.... No other President in our lifetime has been so reckless and inept.....and caused so much harm because of it.....this is different than any of his predecessors. So yeah, not going to compare such a fiend to his predecessors, any of them....
-
Just making sure that anyone reading this knows that this is a flat out lie, as I have posted multiple times that Trump also faced inflation.
-
Agree. People will vote based on their lived experiences. The best way to control that is to ensure their lives are good, or perhaps better. By way of example, right now people continue to suffer under the pressures of inflation, this will be true for some time as it is bloody hard to correct this once it manifests. Therefore......our leaders should not do anything stupid.....that might make it last longer or get worse.....like pumping money out into the system, they should not do this....as the Democrats did....
-
I will use the extension of your logic, absolutely. You see your logic here would refute the racism claims elsewhere. So instead of leveraging <ahem> logic only where it suits your bias on a specific target, be consistent with it. If you would not use it in other arguments, dont let yourself use it here. And that factor alone should tell you that you are not being clear and consistent.

Abortion is simply the last resort for birth control. Women want to have sex, and when the natural outcome of that activity results in a baby, they would rather kill it than raise it ,to avoid the inconvenience. This is why I support abortion. Chances are if your inclination is to murder your offspring rather than ensure the inconvenience of raising it, you would suck as parent. Abortion is a societal good, we should all support, as it avoids the really bad outcomes of sluts raising children. Therefore, supporting abortion is supporting a better society.
-
I agree that their lived experiences suffering under poor economic policies are legitimate. Hence the reporting on it, further reinforcing it. You might want to take a step back before you try this, keep in mind that your tactic here to pretend away the pain.....would then refute any attempts to suggest racism is real. Instead of searching for logic that defends your ideological patrons, look at what people are going through.....
