I hesitate to be manipulated by stats trotted out for political purposes. Often they are manipulated, later amended and otherwise misrepresented. This is not unique to any party or political player, they all do it. I recall when there was the maneuver to point to the stock market as some indicator of economic health under Trump, which was also a misuse of that data point. My bigger problem with the current situation is that it was avoidable, and when manifested it was denied and then later it was declared less than a problem and then actions were taken to make it even worse. I do not think people really appreciate the damage that has been done.

In part they are letting us know by the polling where the economy is noted as a prominent factor in their voting decisions. For them, this economy is certainly the worst in their lifetime

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

I see your point. If you can highlight for me Democrats who are not falling in line with the leftist doctrine that dominates modern liberalism then perhaps there is reason to amend my statement to instead say "the majority of Democrats" -
I think data and facts are always useful. But when you trot out stats that have no bearing on the daily lives of average citizens as proof that their complaints and concerns are not valid, you will tend to lose them as voters. Which has happened.

I think this is true. The notion of accountability in our culture has become frustratingly rare. We see it all too often, and the result is often disparate outcomes. Those who embrace accountability are more successful that those who do not.

You did not ask, you inferred. I get that, you have a perception of those who do not follow your ideological stances and apply it where dissention arises. No biggie, I will comment on what is provided, based on reality, simple common sense and a voracious appetite for reading as much as possible -
You can hold on this, white knuckled, all you want. The people out there are letting you know they dont buy it. You cannot use this and I think the Democrats have stopped because they realized people were getting p!ssed off at being gaslit with this. P!ssing on their leg and calling it rain has not been successful.

Have to call this out for the untruth that it is, I did no such thing. I will assume this was just an honest mistake and did not have intent. -

Oh,well ,let me reiterate here, none of the media should be trusted at this stage, literally NONE of them. Our best approach is to ingest as much a variety as possible, and rely on our bullsh!t detection skills to weed out the truly fanatical. So no, I will not be inclined to point to "source" as a measure of value -
Obama sounds the alarm, says blacks are not excited about Kamala

Agree. But this is their fight or flight response. In the spirit of religions of old any tilt away from the ideological mandates means you are evil. So those who fail to fall in line and be compliant to the far left ideological mantra will get a label. Liberalism is now a religious cult, it behaves exactly like a cult. -

Democrats have shown us who they are. They inclination to do just about anything to hold power is abundantly evident. Would it really surprise anyone if they flout our Democracy to secure power? Of course not. They are who they pretend their opposition is. Keep in mind, Trump now has experience, and perhaps a grudge. And would happily allow for all their malfeasance to be rooted out and put out for all to see.....they are justifiably terrified. -

She is not a very good candidate. I think anyone who is willing to be honest about this situation understands that she is simply not suitable for the role. To be fair she is in a tough spot, she cannot admit the mistakes made nor the problems with the obviously failed liberal ideology, she has to find a way to pretend things are great and that is not easy, too many people out there have been harmed at this stage. -
She could, which would infuriate people even more So its best she not do that.
-
Correct, both sides will lie. I think it could be true that Harris cant be honest here, because she will throw Biden under the bus, and the Biden team would then lash out at her. So she may very well want to be honest, but cant....but as the polls get worse for her, will she go for broke at some point here and admit it? And risk the blowback from the Biden team?
-
Their entire approach on this is of course standard political reframing of the situation (lying) to pretend all is well. What is really fascinating about this scenario is that they have to lie to the people they have harmed, the large majority of voters. So it really is self-defeating to keep telling people that everything is great while people are living something very different. They effectively have to p!ss of the majority of voters to sell this farce of "the economy is great".....which is obviously eroding their voter support as the polling indicates. Hard to gaslight people who are living the reality.

Consider the subject at hand. Media lying is now the normal. The media now lies and tandem with its preferred political party. So my first move is to assume anything the media produces is a lie and go from there -

I do not "play the middle". I use simple common sense backed by research. Sometimes we might agree, and sometimes we might disagree, that is fine. I am not a liberal, so when we disagree I wont attack you personally.....that might be the most important distinction. Historically, Trump outperforms his polling by maybe 3 points. So there is some merit to suggest he might actually be doing better......but I hesitate to trust polling, in any form. Harris is perhaps even a worse candidate that Biden was. At least he can point to age, and perhaps dementia, as the reason for him being utterly unable to meet the needs of his role.....what is Harris's excuse? I hope people see all of it in totality. The lawfare to take out Trump, the media and their extravagant bias, the incessant lying from Democrats and the obvious disparity in their concern for their own behaviors that they so happily apply to others.....and then this move to eliminate Biden and throw Harris into it......Harris.....who is perhaps the MOST unqualified person to ever hold office -

I would not presume to trust ANY of these prognostications. This is a close race, will likely boil down to two or three states and whether nor not people have had their fill of the horrid policies Democrats have used to harm them. -

That some one like Harris, who is profoundly unqualified and empty, is able to compete for the job speaks to the indoctrination of the far left into the minds of liberals..... -

Agree completely. I love that DeSantis has called out the focking liar and POS that Harris actually is. As usual, DenSantis is handling the situation well.... as he has done in the past. One would think that Democrats would have learned after their failed attempt to take him down the last time.....but oh no, not Harris.... It was profoundly STUPID to try this with Desantis who is Harris's superior in every possible way. She comes across looking exactly how those not ideologically bound know her to be -
Helene Disaster Response: The Regime leaving Red States to die?
RLLD replied to Tree of Knowledge's topic in The Geek Club
The two are mutually exclusive. Desantis has no issue with the level of support from the WH, he and Biden are talking. If you have an issue with the response, look no further than the agency itself. Biden whining about Trump is pure politicking and they all do it. Of course they are each going to leverage what ever political advantages arise from a situation, but this where "we" and "us" should note that is what they are doing, and NOT join in....leaving the lying to the politicians.... -

I think that if you have an approach to it, that likely helps. But even then, I look at polling now more than ever.....as nothing more than guessing at this point. Whether those polls suggest a candidate I favor is leading or not.
