Will Ferrell: ‘If the Trans Community Is a Threat to You, Then It Stems From Not Being Confident or Safe With Yourself’
RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Well no, you just told us that we should not worry about a problem that is statistically insignificant....so then....lets have people who worry too much about immigration problems silence themselves (since you think it should not be raised) and instead address the more statistically relevant source of danger to their daughters. African Americans can do the same. We all win because all the complaining about stupid stuff goes away, right? -

Thats not what I am doing here, and MDC knows it. See he will use this line of logic where it suits him, then refuse to apply it where it might tend to prevent him from holding on to one of his little positions that is indefensible when proper logic is used. So lets see if he refuses to use it still. -

Great, so then if something is statistically low in terms of probability, we should not elevate it up to be some sort of problem, maybe then by extension we should instead talk about the problem that is statistically more important? And this philosophy would then apply to all situations, right? -

I am less inclined to have you question me, until you answer my question. Now, lets start again... Should I be more worried about regular white males because they are statistically more likely to harm my daughter than a tranny, as you seem to have suggested? -

So then, your position is that if something is statistically small......that we should not worry about it? I might be able to get behind that position, if you are then also willing to apply that logic elsewhere......are you? -

When men pretend to be women, and invade their space, they threaten women in a variety of ways. There is a reason for separate in areas such as sport, by way of example. A man who wants to play dress up and pretend to be a woman should be treated with dignity of course. We should be as kind to them as we would to someone with Downs Syndrome. So placate them if you want, play along wit their charade.....but when it comes to allowing them into spaces reserved for real women, no.....we should not do that....that is a threat to women. -

What if "you" are not threatened, but consider the allowance for gender dysphoric men to be legitimized a threat to your daughters? -
I observe an ancillary benefit. The MSM loves to lie for the Democrats of course, and pretend that Republicans are evil or a threat. Well, the lied or misrepresented Trump for years, and more recently Vance......but there he was.....not the person they have been trying to sell to the public in service to their Democrat overlords.....so now they have to scramble a bit to explains that.

Right.....and that could be a problem......

Part of me thinks it HAS to happen, and then another thinks about how people like Shoeless Joe were fully focked over, and then I think about the MLB in general....and I start to consider that they would have to be alot less stupid to do it, and that is unlikely.

I know people who home school, their kids are smart and ahead of their peers without a doubt. Parents have the luxury of delivering one-on-one instruction, which is already a big win....they also have the advantage of knowing how and where to push because they know their kids so well. It is HIGHLY effective. Later, as the disparity in performance grows even wider, there will be increased claims of racism....of course....

Iranians had to step up. Their proxies are frozen right now. Leadership is practically non-existent, and they do not know what else has been rigged for them; hint, there is more.... The middle east is a never-ending flow of loyalties, and to maintain their position Iran had to have a response to Israel, so they were more or less locked into this. BUT.....Israel knew this was going to happen, they have something lined up for the Iranians already, I know the name of the op....but thats all i know.

I have some reservations. I think there is an element of socialization that occurs in the "group setting" that transpires in school that provides for important development which delivers later in life as networking becomes more important. I think home schooling can be effective in improving academic performance, but at what cost?

I think Walz started slow, and had perhaps one significant stumble during, but as it unfolded he relaxed and improved. Vance came out a bit stronger, had a few odd responses during. I liked it that this debate had an air of maturity to it, there were instances of respect between the two that I liked, and they generally did a good job focusing on things that matter; with Walz doing a little more straying into the irrelevant nonsense.

Helene Disaster Response: The Regime leaving Red States to die?
RLLD replied to Tree of Knowledge's topic in The Geek Club
FEMA leverages privates to do alot of their work, as most agencies do. I chuckle when someone tries to say that private could never work, when most of the government agencies essentially run on and rely on private contractors to get their work done. -

No, I did not offer the Red Cross and churches, I commented that they do a good job and will get in there earlier, filling the gap adequately until the feds get their act together...... Your trust and faith in government is misplaced, they are not the answer, but they are all we can rely on at the moment -

I still agree that private companies handling a disaster is not the answer, but you can keep stating it.....and I will keep agreeing..... and then reiterating that we have to improve government -

Many people in government do not want it to be better. They abhor change, outside ideas. You and I might want it, the the bureaucratic elite have a vested interest in things staying the same. Bad ideas and processes and policy dominate government. Nothing can waste money like government. Few things can champion the impossibly bad as government does. Government is not the answer at all, mostly it is the problem. Trusting in government is more than dumb, its dangerous -

RLLD replied to Tree of Knowledge's topic in The Geek Club
No, your jumping to conclusions apparently did not include all available options...... you see, we could.....make government better...... Sadly, this too....is a little farcical. Problems can be distilled down to people, policy and process. You cannot go after the people, they are protected by the agency and the political apparatus. You cannot go after the policy as it is protected by the political apparatus. And god save your soul if you try t change process, oh my god......those people will "disappear" you faster than a Clinton associate.... -
Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

I appreciate your point of view, and you may very well be correct, luckily your point of view on it does not have to be accepted by everyone.....we each get to have our own. -

Well, yeah, I agree, which is why I would never suggest a private company handle a natural disaster.....so, yeah.... -

I was not aware of private companies and their failures to natural disasters, I might need to read up on that a bit, might you have some examples; preferably something with legal action? -

RLLD replied to Tree of Knowledge's topic in The Geek Club
I do not share your apprehension for how private companies handle things. Nor your trust in government. Having worked in and amongst both....it is always government making it worse.....failures on the private side are easily traceable to constant government stupidity. Not all agencies are created equal....some are really bad, like DOT.....some are really good like DOEnergy But i general government is populated by weak leadership, notably at the lower levels, who are only concerned with not being bothered.....and private companies dare not call the out on it -

I am never really sure about this tactic. This move to trot out some example as if supporting Trump should now be invalid because he supports one or two things I might disagree with. I think it has it uses, and there are plenty who think this is valid logic to be sure....I am just not interested in some farcical notion that I will find a candidate where I agree with absolutely everything.
