I think they proposed the debate thinking Trump might fuss about it, and they could use this to pretend he was "afraid" and when Trump said "lets go" and let them make any rule they wanted....I am confident at that moment they knew they were screwed..... they did their best to prop him up, to hide what most of us clearly saw for months....and could not overcome his issues... Your point makes sense. Get the debate in early, if he nails it....great.... if not...there is enough time to find some other puppet to trot out.....

Because they have fomented hate for Trump. When you paint your ideological opponent as evil.....to sway voters....you create a caricature that you have to then react to. They HAD to prop this man up, after creating this cartoon version of Trump as "hitler" or whatever....in doing so they permitted themselves to do just about anything to take out Trump.

My on point assessment remains an accurate depiction, of course later when it arises that more retrospection is conducted.....it will arise as it did with my prior assessments that were treated as you have done here....and I was proven correct...over and over....but it takes time for those less-versed in economics to catch up

This is the problem....Trump can easily beat Biden, but perhaps another candidate could draw in those centrist voters and make this contest a little less certain

Kamala is rarely mentioned....I think they see her as we do....undeserving of her position, and not up to the job...... Newsome is tossed around, he is likely worse than Biden....and it could be true that the Democrat monolith does not think it can control him. Hillary has made sure to hand around enough to suggest they could try her, though I doubt it.... What about like Jefferies?

Correct, they do it for a variety of factors around the failures of the current administration, but in this instance I am looking toward those polling and those impacted as this and immigration represent the best factors to sway the election toward Trump.

It is exactly what we should not see.....from any outlet.... CNN pretends to be fair and balanced. at least the others tell the truth about who/what they are.....

General Thoughts - Biden was more or less what he has shown to be, nothing surprising about him - Trump was helped considerably by the format, preventing him from coming across as strongly as a blowhard; so big thanks to CNN - Trump still fell below my expectations slightly, not answering some questions, kept going back to other topics, but overall did well enough I think - The moderators did a pretty good job of not making it about them
