Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
The more I think about the various tactics of the left to fight Trump......the lawfare to impugn him and silence him......all those efforts to silence him in social media.....the actions of CNN and others to not give him time on their platforms..... I think as a strategy it might be helping Trump a little. If he were out there more and people heard him talk more I think more people might matriculate away from him. Often it is his rhetoric, usually the malignment of some silly joke, that they can play up to pretend is some sort of problem.... but that is not happening..... I think this game they are playing is actually helping him.....by protecting him from himself. -

I think we should consume polling with a grain of salt. -

Mr Biden, why did you only recently make any effort to stem the tide of illegal immigration at the border? -
Good Riddance Its but one small victory, and we the people need many more in order to stop the harm that comes from cowards like this worthless POS

Seems like something that might get a non-Democrat called out eh?

Oakland streets left unpaved for weeks after construction crews flee over safety concerns

Well, to be fair it falls in line with the progressive liberal agenda.....who think this nation is hopelessly racist and such and needs to be torn down.....so it does more or less jive with their intent..... -

It's not a good look to be sure. There was a time when I would have supported such an assertion, but then came Obama who subjugated the media toward Democrats....and ended it.... Prior to that there was a slant, but it was mostly fair....that time is over..... -

I think your assertion has merit. That is why I propose that Biden is prepping to taunt him as much as possible, to get him to lash out.....I presume that Trump is being advised as much. Now, whether or not he is able to avoid hitting back is questionable.... -

OK, those are fair points. If Biden can bring a solid message about the economy....without denying peoples personal experiences....I could see him getting a bump from that. If Biden can leverage the abortion topic as well as the insurrection hoax well then he could do well there too -

I doubt that, if we are being honest here Biden has more to lose from this debate than Trump does; and less to gain. -

I surmise you think this is true.....but that is what the Democrats want you to think, but it is not true. The biggest reason these things are happening, along with the widespread explosion of the immigration issue, was Biden reversing Trump policies and inviting the immigration. That is where the blame is, passing that legislation would have done nothing.....worse, it would have impeded common sense changes later to really halt immigration. I cannot stress enough that it is fine to be compassionate and such, but not at the expense of our nation. -
This.....people too often vote for their cult or cultist instead of their own interests. It happens everywhere.
-
Yeah, I thought that was true for Chicago too....but I think they actually put someone in the mayoral slot who was even worse.....

The Dems put all that in place because they thought that Trump would at least b!tch about it, and perhaps even decline outright......they guess wrong. I submit that the Dems assumed they could create such a hostile situation for Trump that he would back out and then Biden would not have to debate at all....and they could pretend that it was Trump being afraid or incapable... When Trump accepted....I bet you could have heard a pin drop in that campaign room -
Not suggesting it was not part of it.......but the driver? I am not yet convinced....
-
In part perhaps, but I think its just generally a low quality product

I surmise that you are missing the point. Lets posit, for a moment, that the people currently in that lower strata....and polling as they are..... were active in the labor market in those 2000's.....and lets further pretend that they still are...... they YOUR premise is that they should suck it up and STFU because its not so bad, well I think they hold a different point of view..... In reality, the current composition of the lower strata is likely different, and due to this those folks currently in that area have never experienced an economy this harmful, it is for them the worst in their lifetime. When making comparisons it can be.....comforting... to find things that uphold your point of view, but more rewarding to consider the multivariate elements. HTH

But......those are......two different sets of people.....

Why should he? I mean, if I were Biden I would be like "fock off"

Yeah. I would avoid such silliness if I were him. Stick to the simple.....use abortion like a nuke.....that will prove really effective -

I imagine there is considerable coaching for him to avoid the outright lie to the fullest extent. If Biden can restrict his responses to the "defensible" lie then he is more safe. -
Its a fantastic question, its in fact the one I have been waiting for. For those who were around, and aware, during the late 70's the current situation is somewhat familiar; and then later ups and downs can be readily compared of course. For those who were active in the labor market during the 2005-2010 debacle and in the lower strata there is not an easy comparison as the "hit" in that era was disproportionately to the upper classes. It was during that era that the lower strata tool some joy and there were news reports of people noting "now you know how we feel" kind of stuff. So then, those in the labor force today, in those lower strata jobs, have never been harmed to this degree in their lives....this is the worst economy of their lives.
