Chicago's mayor taps $95M in federal COVID-19 relief funds for migrant housing costs
RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
At 21 minutes an AA woman declares that the immigrants are taking "black jobs".....y'know, that lame trope liberals throw around on anyone who opposes unfettered immigration.... I wonder. Does she understand the correlation between Democrats and what is happening to her community yet? Will she vote as told, or vote for people who actually manifest good things? And then check out the guy at around 25:50 -
That is true. But in order to be elected he has to lie like one. Politics requires that one be able to lie as easily as breathing. For instance, if the people of the nation are suffering under oppressive inflation.....you have to be able to skillfully lie that it does not actually exist....maybe for months.... Trump does not have that muscle. And its wonderful. Instead he will say something off the cuff that is provably false, but does not actually harm anyone. He does not subscribe to the normal political lies we tend to observe, and from the media as well, which I find refreshing. But in order to undo the damage done to this nation, I prefer he be elected if possible...and his antics run counter to that outcome. Outcomes matter....not lies and misrepresentation.... Trump gave us good outcomes.....beyond that I really dont care what he spews from his suck....

Yeah, I mostly agree with your position on these things.

Biden should deal with the border issue, but he’ll win anyhow.
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I think spreading the obligation of dealing with this catastrophe is fine; and I DO submit that sharing it with those who have effectively encouraged it with their words and positions is pointedly fair. That being said, we should avoid acting out of malice. That is the behavior, on the part of the current administration, which has led to this problem. Let's not allow ourselves the luxury of becoming that which we might oppose. JMHO -
Teacher Is Going Viral For Punishing Students Who Use Slang In Her Class
RLLD replied to RLLD's topic in The Geek Club
That's fine. Then so long as these students can demonstrate mastery of the requirements, then let them speak as they choose. We really do not want to encourage the limitation of speech. -
Right. He speaks without filter.....because...well....."fock you"...right? Its a problem for him. Vivek, on the other hand, is a skilled man....when media tries to use their standard tactics to impugn him for being conservative, he is a focking ninja......

Yes, but I am less-inclined to chase the red meat of nonsense racism being slung about. I think it unwise to limit speech....and that is what this teacher seems inclined toward, THAT is the problem....not some farcical race baiting nonsense. -
New York judge finds Donald Trump liable for fraud
RLLD replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
I concede this point. Though back in the early 2000's I attributed mostly to conservatives. Because at that time they were the ones screwing up the most. So while your assertion remains true, it can also be easily refuted by my posting, where I hold wrong accountable.....irrespective of political ideology. Perhaps the reason I am so critical at this point is that the media is complicit, instead of holding power accountable....and THAT is discomforting. Again, the permissiveness of the BLM riots was destined to result in something similar happening again. I said as much at the time...and was proven right, yet again....because human nature is not unknown. The allowance for violence and evil for some because they have the right ideology behind them, is a slippery slope that WILL lead to similar behaviors coming from the ideological opposite.....its not complex. -

It would be maybe the fourth time that comes to mind. Clinton was the first, then you had Trump, what twice? So its been established now, through past misuse....as I predicted. Now, lets see if there is a movement to start prosecuting more politicians when they leave office in the future....since that precedent has now been set. I urge you all.......all of you....object to this.....these actions might seem great in their moment, but we are allowing our government to become a middle school lunch room. They are abusing these powers. -

RLLD replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Not kidding. And that you are unwilling to recognize this brings my point home. People are people. When the rioting transpired, "I" immediately lamented that there would likely be a commensurate action from the right. This is simple stuff..... No threatening of a public official is permissible, but perhaps I can take heart that if it should arise that a liberal judge is threatened we can potentially see some action. Everything I said was correct. People remain what they have always been, and they will act out. I predict now, that at some point there WILL be a republican who takes some action akin to that fire alarm stunt to clear a room or building when it arises that something is happening THEY do not like.....and where did they get the idea? As mentioned above, from a liberal believing they were the moral arbiters.....so nothing they do it wrong.... -

RLLD replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Understood. My assertion is basic. You do not have January 6th if you do not have BLM rioting. You do not have this current act toward a judge if you do not have people threatening SCOTUS judges outside of their homes. You do not have Democrat politicians being "swatted" if you do not have Republican's facing it first. Hell, you do not have a SCOTUS that overturns abortion if Harry reid does not eliminate the filibuster. I mean, how long before some Republican retahd pulls a fire alarm during a vote? Right? I go back to a central tenant. The inclination of liberals to cross lines in order to fight for power has consequences, and perhaps there is not a realization of this..... My suggestion is stop pretending your are the arbiters of morality, and that this role allows to you BE the thing you say you oppose -
Did they also track the lies of anyone else? Or....might it be true that they seem to be selling a narrative? I would be VERY careful when it comes to media and their reporting around Trump. They vilify him while giving leeway to others, who's lies are actually destructive to people. Media does us no favors in political coverage. We have to be more discerning. The media lies as much as any politician.
-
You are correct, in part. It would seem that the plentiful access to information about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have a measurable impact to dissuade people from joining. There is little the military can do about that aspect. The elevation of the alphabet soup concerns is also an inhibitor, it implies deference to those people and elements, and with it you will absolutely see people veer away.

RLLD replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Not at all. If you wonder how we got here, we started with what was done to judges prior....and later....we might see even worse unless this situation is dealt with and people are punished. No qualification. But a note, when people behave badly and are not held to account, the bar of behavior moves....a point seemingly lost on liberal minds. -
I wish it were true that he lied anywhere near as much as a normal politician, or that his lies were even worth mention. Sadly, he answers questions without any filter...and the media is keen to seize on that, and has done so. He certainly lies. Everyone does. He is just less skilled with it.

Not sure I agree. How is inhibiting their expression with regard to these terms any different than banning "there are only two genders"? I think we need to be cautious when it comes to controlling language. -

Sick....repugnant.....a sad statement on who we have become. Had they simplify replicated what liberals did to judges I would be less critical -
He is too forthright, maybe "honest" is not the right term. His issue is that his life experience makes him take this "fock you and the horse you rode in on" stance. He lacks political savvy. A good politician knows when and how to lie. If he has any intention of lying, he sucks at it.
-
Correct. But he needs to chip away at those in the middle, where the non-zealots live. And highlighting abortion is not an effective way to do that.
-
The people out there.....the bad ones..... are formidable in many areas. Having served and in some instances fought them.....the dilution of "male toxicity" from the military is an unforced error on their part.

Biden should deal with the border issue, but he’ll win anyhow.
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Yes but liberals will never accept blame..... You see, this situation is happening because the Texas governor is sending a small fraction of the total of illegal immigration their way, and that is just not fair..... so its HIS fault, right? Well, then lets extend that logic. It is Biden's fault, and his minion Mayorkas, that those immigrants are entering Texas....so then the "fault" is not Abbots.....its Bidens.... -
But it is. When he speaks, he lacks that "voice in his head" that should tell him to STFU.....its an example of his hubris.
-
Agree. And this is part of the reason I prefer him as a candidate. But politics requires a little more skill in the area of lying.
-
Not sure I agree with you.
