I also voted for him, the first time. I met him a few times when he was a Senator. He seemed great to me. Of course I was less enthused about his actions as a President, but he was not the worst....I think Biden likely holds that designation.

I would proceed with caution on this. I recall that recently there was polling suggesting the Republicans would win the last round, but that turned out to be untrue....and lets not forget about the 2016 election. As I sit back and think about this, Democrats have consistently behaved as though people behave based on skin color, that your skin color dictates who you are and what you do..... the elections do tend to support this notion. And then their immigration policy clearly shows they believe this emphatically... Maybe, and this is just a maybe, the Democrats learned how to channel their racism and use it to their advantage. Conservatives have pushed back on this notion since we crushed the Democrats in the civil war, but when you look at this from a high level..... now I am left pondering

It might not, I mean, its not an absolute. I know for me, the moment I met my first child I felt very different. I am confident it changed me for the better.

Democrats and their projection. It is rather nice that we know what they are doing when they try to put their own behaviors on others.

Hold on, did he just divulge an important strategic secret?

Do liberals still think that covid didn't come from the Wuhan lab that Fauci was funding?
RLLD replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
I got the COVID this week I had the original two shots, but nothing further. Getting back to normal now. If I had any of the conditions that elevate ones risk, I might get another shot. But natural immunity works rather well for normal healthy folks -
Yes, it is amazing how much children can change your perspective. But I think that is potentially an oversimplification. There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. You can easily acquire knowledge, but wisdom comes later.

I am not sure what to make of you parroting a Guiliani accusation, but I guess it might seem useful at the time. Or perhaps you are correct, and the clearly vindictive DOJ appointed Mueller for just that reason

I have this dossier though, so we can now launch a muti=year investigation with a special counsel....

Impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden begins- over Hunter Biden
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Agree. There is a mountain of evidence....for tax evasion....but unless they can bring indisputble proof of treason, such as something Biden did politically to repay all that money funneled to him....then we need not do the fake impeachment nonsense again. -

I am off the rails.....you must be pulling my leg..... -

I must admit that I am astonished you disagree..... Well, it would be philosophically honest for you to do so I guess. I mean, I infer you supported the farcical impeachments toward Trump with no evidence.....so ok then... I am suprised you and I diverage here. Regardless, I have high demands before I think impeachment should ever be used. Right now, there is no path for it. Until I observe something tangible, all they have is tax evasion. -

Such as? My demand for evidence before impeachment is somehow....and issue for you? -

Not sure I follow. -
I hear it was those domestic terrorists at school board meetings who did something

I appreciate your point of view here, and you have given me some opportunity to think about this more deeply.

So then, we agree..... I am getting a sense that you might want to go back and read from the start..... someone asked why "Republicans" would try to do this and all I did was offer an explanation.
-
Yes, but these people are just too stupid to understand they are being exploited, and once white liberals can indoctri........explain to them how they should be offended.....perhaps they will come around....

My stance is that people get a divorce for reasons other than "fault". Our culture has incentivized divorce. Life is hard, relationships can be challenging, they are not always sunny-happy.... But people still need an avenue where differences are irreconciliable. My initial post around this was to help clarify the "why" which was the question asked. And my response was simply that there is a correlation between success and a two-parent home. I surmise that is the "why". And I further stand by my assertion that I would rather the government stay out of it.....they suck, plain and simple, and anything they touch they will ruin
-
As I have noted elsewhere the concern has actually improved over the last 10 years. I do not suggest we force people to stay together by any means. We should not trust the government with anything really. But the correlation between success and elements such as a two-parent home are established. It's but one element in a multi-variant system, but one of the most important. So if we can incentivize staying together I think that could help, but is by no means the only method.

Most people cannot admit they are wrong, and I suggest that we all have this behavior from time to time. Pretending they are not wrong is a profoundly political muscle. Expecting ANY of them to admit they are wrong is a fools errand. -
Well done gentlemen....
