Apparrently the MSM has decided, for us, that our national secrets are less reportable when Biden divulges them.

Impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden begins- over Hunter Biden
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
So you think if Fox reports on Biden....that is equitable to NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN collectively reporting daily on Trump.....on things by the way that were proven to not even be true..... I am a little concerned that you do not see the disparity and what it means. Let's remove the names if thats what it takes.... the media....right now....today.....actively does not report on what is being uncovered about the current President.... Why? Could it be because their position is to support and protect Biden from it? Where are the protections from power we were afforded under Trump? What if the media actively avoiding reporting to you the Trump-related stuff? Would that not bother you? The media is supposed to be on OUR side, not the polticians.... THAT is the problem. I do not fault Trump for fighting back against the media, as I have not objected to Biden doing it. I will remain philosophically consistent.....REGARDLESS of the name or political affiliation. You see if we are to embrace what you are allowing.....then we ensure corruption. The coverage is no where near what I demand or deserve. We got what we needed when Trump was President, lets not pretend we are still getting it.,..... -
I think it is.....sure there is some element of indoctrination, and we can see it on display here and there. But these people clearly are bright, and often are able to adeptly verbalize their position. So they appear, to me, to have some knowledge.....but their thoughts are flawed, now I attribute that in part to the low quality of teaching they have been subjected to. Our universities have failed many of our kids for a few decades now, filling their minds not with critical thinking skills....but with social agenda and indoctrination, as well as intolerance. When you listen to some of them, take AOC for example, she is clearly able to learn and use what she has learned, no doubt. Her problem is that of maturity. She is convinced that she has it all figured out, and if we just did everything her way the world would be fine. She is wrong of course, but she cannot know that until her ideas fail. The problem we have is the desire of Democrats to harvest the vote of the youth, and the elevation of their ideas without critical rebuttal to the level of policy. We know what they propose will not work, because every where it is tried it fails. We know because we have lived long enough to understand people. These people who are so forceful with their ideology have no idea as to the harm they can cause. And so what do they do? Time and again, employ policy.....and when it goes to sh!t the look around and start pointing fingers at others....usually the ones who opposed them, and insist it must be THEIR fault....because mommy and daddy along with Dr knownothing at University of Intolerance told them what to think, and that they are always right as long as they think as they are told....

Did you happen to see my post above where estranged couples heading for divorce are now considering living together again, because of financials? Now, lets agree that the rate of women seeking divorce is still greater than that of men, what does it say to you that now we see this trend? Could it be that they never went down this road if the economics were this bad when that process started? Can you see what I am seeing?

Impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden begins- over Hunter Biden

So....Fox news reports on Hunter and Joe, while the rest of the media actively ignores it....and your position is that this is "raking him over the coals"? Have you considered how that position might contrast to the entirerty of MSM assailing Trump for years? I liked it when we had that. That meant the powerful were under a microscope, were being watched and we knew that they had our back....and now? Of course Trump objected, all the politicians object....he was just less artful about it. So the media clutched their pearls at the thought that a politician would dare stand up to them. Trump was a buffoon, a clown and generally just annoying....but financially we were better off.....our national security was better.....historically marginalized communities were enjoying amazing progress.... Here is what I had to learn, and trust me it was not an easy lesson..... when in battle....you want the effective d!ckhead leading you, not the ineffective "good guy".....and this is absolutely true when leading a nation as well. I leave it to you to care about intangibles.....all I care about is effectiveness of policy. Biden is clearly ineffective, but even worse, we can see from documented banks transactions the man has been funnelling money through LLC's for years from adversarial nations....now YOU might not care because the alternative is Trump. Fine, tell me what it will take to make you care about something for which you would happily attack Trump if it were associated with him.... You might think "I" am being biased, but... https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/2021/04/28/at-100-day-mark-coverage-of-biden-has-been-slightly-more-negative-than-positive-varied-greatly-by-outlet-type/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/05/19/coverage-of-president-trump-has-been-4-to-1-negative-but-that-isnt-really-the-point/ -

No....he is not being "raked over the coals: by any stretch. In fact the media and the Democrats continue to carry his water. He enjos considerable protections, and his family has as well. The DOJ has clearly worked to protect Biden from his criminal activities. Were it true that the media and Democrats held Biden accountable even 50% as much as they did Trump, I would say nothing. But the disparity bothers me because it indicated we have no protection at all from political criminals, if the are Democrats....that should bother all of us. -

I can get behind that, though that position would have been more useful in 2017, 2018 and 2019....at least we can agree that there are better ways to govern. I would like to clarify that I prefer gridlock. The less government does, the better for people like you and I. If they are gridlocked and cannot enact legislation....we are more free, more prosperous and more safe. Now, the level of concern that was felt around the potential of Trump colluding with other nations is commensurate with how I feel about the Biden family absorbing money from other nations and people, notable from places not good at all, with no clear indictation as to what that money bought. I think we are in our rights to know that. Further, from a President so insistent that people "pay their fair share" when it comes to taxes, I would like to have folks better appreciate how his usage of the LLC's pointedly avoided paying taxed on large sums of money. At the very LEAST, he is guilty of tax evasion....not to mention just slimy for using his son the way he did, and even the focking little kids.....pushing money in THEIR name??? It takles a level of sociopathy of disturbing levels to do that. If I were him.....and I were in the right....I would be putting that all down in front of everyone to see....but that is not what he is doing. They are forcefully hiding everything possible. Remember when people were rightly objecting to Trump not divesting of his businesses because the mere appearance of impropriety had to be avoided? That has clearly been discarded.... -
You can hate on it, but in terms of tools....it has been remarkably effective. They propose deeply flawed policies or ideas, someone objects....and rather than debate the actual policy or idea.....they label the objector to eliminate the opposition. It has worked extremely well.

I see now, well you are just parroting what I have already said many times before. So on this point we agree. Where we perhaps diverage is on the specific actions. I care little for people in power being held to it, I find it rather enjoyable regardless as to who they are. What bothers me is abuse of power, plain and simple. Now, with THAT in mind....I hope you will understand that my observations about that ABUSE of power as it pertains to Trump is limited to the action itself, and not the man. Similarly.....were the Republicans to mirror those same behaviors, around impeachment, of which I found so objectionable when the Democrats did them, I would then be noting similar concerns and objections toward those Republicans.....so far, they have not been abusive of the power, but i am wary that they will be..... Now.....Might you want to suggest, at this juncture, that Biden has been somehow treated less fairly than Trump was, and could you highlight that disparity for me? -
The alternative is to not talk, to disparage or impugn.....is that not what the left does to the right every day now? If I visit upon HIM the behaviors that come MY way, have I not become what I oppose? No sir, my position remains to talk....hear people out, maybe learn something. Counter bad ideas with good ones where ever possible. But some people have to suffer to learn. I was likely once just like him and them.....young and pretty sure I knew what was right and wrong and what should be true or happen. It took me YEARS to understand how little I actually knew, and reach a point where I might actually have some wisdom. I just think there is a better way for us to deal with one another.

Good stuff. It is interesting that I support strong borders, but that could be misconstrued as nativism or nationalism or anti-globalism..... but having spent time in other nations I have a healthy respect for the abundance of bad people out there who want to come here and exploit. Controlling who comes here is not so much wrong, as simple self-preservation of the bastian of "good" left in this world. A return to proper border control addresses the immediate need....to stem the flow....but alone is not enough. More will be required. Trumps policies are absolutely fantastic, they helped the least among us the most. Simple, common sense and practical....they worked as you would expect to enhance the lives of almost all Americans. It was glorious. I can only hope for a return to that. A prosperous American can then benefit all people. The alternative to is feed the slow demise of the nation. -
Projection. This is the main behavior of leftists. So when they announce or assail, that should be our "tell" to start looking into THEM around that very point. Liberals already know what is wrong, are already doing that thing, project it on to others as a distraction. We have seen this tactic repeatedly. The point to others as conspiratorial to denigrate them or their message, all the while they loudly trot out their own actual conspiracies.

I find that your standard position does not seem to support your position declaring to not be driven by party, but will take you at your word. Might I ask, which Trump policies do you find the most objectionable? I find the Republican approach, so far, to be superior to that which the Democrats employed. And for this I am grateful. But still wary, I still think they will drift into revenge here, and if they start to mirror Democrat actions that will be the tell. -
I think that will depend. Sometimes it takes time to fix things, and there is some initial error and problems. For now we just need to wait and see what Musk comes up with. I am moderately amused that Musk is ruining "X" with his apparent embracing of "far right" but Disney is at the same time somehow NOT being hurt by leftist embracing..... one is almost left with the notion that Liberals are perhaps....sorta....hypocritical.....
-
Understood. While that flouts common wisdom, I can appreciate your point of view. I might suggest that later, with more time and experience, you might one day decide to reconsider your position.

This could be true, but the available information needs to be explored in full given the power of those involved and how their misuse of it could result in harm to our nation. I do not recall a wide spread objection to any investigations into Trump, and I am grateful for the zeal with which accountability has been applied to him. I want that same accountability extended to the rest of those in power. I really.....really....would encourage you to avoid being a party zealot, and instead consider ALL politicians the enemy until they prove otherwise. It should never be party over people, always people over party. Defending the powerful, as with Joe Biden, is never where we want to be. -
So your position as to who can have a complaint, and when, is maleable? Can you understand how someone might now not respect your position?
-
He was an opponent to power, now Liberals have the power, therefore his mentality to challenge power would naturally be a threat to Liberals; who are among the most intolerant of people as well.

Conservative resolve, sure....but will it win over centrists and independants? I submit that this is where an election is won or lost. The last election saw these folks flip over to the Democrats. They were so weary of Trump and the media blitz around him, their hope was just peace and normalcy.... and the shock troops "Gestapo" of the Democrats made it clear that would never be allow with Trump. So they voted Democrat.....but Trump lives rent free in their heads, and as their policies fail and fail they continue to raise up Trump, so the drama never left..... So if you are a centrist/independant....and you are forced to live with Trump drama no matter who is in office, then why net let it BE TRUMP and at least get the benefit of a good economy, strong border and global peace? -
It might be difficult to measure which side of this issue is more obsessed, but let's pretend for the moment that it actually IS the conservative side. Am I to now understand, that when some group objects loudly or emphatically to something that its obstinancy and bigotry? And should therefore be assailed as wrong?
