This is a commonly understood element of human nature, with age one gains more experience. We make mistakes, learn from them become more acquainted with the world and better understand it and our place in it. This is commonly referred to as "wisdom". When you are young you have knowledge, you know a tomatoe is a fruit, and hopefully as you age you better understand why it should not be included in a fruit salad. This is but an example of the important distinction between knowledge and wisdom. Also for consideration

The clearing of that intersection was mostly peaceful.

Your presumption that conspiracy does not exist is precious, but our history is one big conspiracy, as was history prior to the formation of this nation. I assure you....nothing happens by chance.

Hamas terror organization charter targets Christians and US service organizations
RLLD replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
While Islam in general typically encompasses some really fine people, more than you might expect are rather hateful. We have to stop pretending that objecting to radical Islam is "Islamaphobia". Protecting bad ideas in this manner serves no one. Moreover, the tendency of Islam to subjugate women and torture gay people really needs to be dealt with, without the pretense that objecting to human rights violations is...."Islamaphobia". -

It's sorta funny, my daughter is an ICU nurse, recently accepted into anesthetist school, and when she announced being accepted I congratulated her....and she said to me. "Dad, you once told me that if you are going to be away from your family working for 8 to 10 hours a day, you might as well try to get paid as much as possible for it....so I am going to become more valuable and make my money..." I was like.....dayum.... She also told me she will never allow me to be in an "old persons home" because she has seen so many elderly patients being neglected come through the ICU.... when I asked her what she meant, she told me she was going to ensure I either lived with her or had a house on her property when I needed it. I had to excuse myself for a moment to collect myself after that....

Agree with all of this. There is no doubt in my mind that I at least strived to be a better person, a better man, once I was first married and then later a father. Helping my children become successful, more so than I, has been a fullfilling experience. I always taught them that the difference between success and failure is actually pretty small, and the decisions you make matter more than anything else. The winners in this world were not just gifted that success, they had to go through a laundry list of failures....and they won because with every failure they got back up, dusted themselves off.....and got right back to it.....got knocked down again...and again...but kept pushing forward.... They bought into that, and now they enjoy great success in their lives.

Chicago mayor targets Lightfoot, 'right-wing extremism' for 'chaos' in Chicago So essentially....he offers no solutions, but wants to cry that people who point out the failures of leadership are racists..... sure..... why not, hasnt that been the "go to" for failed policy? There has not been a "right wing" (Republican) mayor in that city since the 1920's......but....its those meanie people on the right.... so then as with those who preceeded him, he too is a focking coward who blames others..... Even the immigrants want out of that sh!thole....

IPCC: Window to avert catastrophic climate change is quickly closing...
RLLD replied to posty's topic in The Geek Club
I might suggest that the cliamte is ever-changing.....and the reason humans are here today with out success has been our ability to adapt to the ever-changing environment. I think this notion that we can control climate is hubris. Could we be better stewards? Absolutely.....but there is little distinction to be found between our current crop of "end is neigh" and those of the past. -
I am fine with that. Let them know, let them all know....we will not service you when you arrive....and fewer will come. You really need to better understand human nature, otherwise your ideas will harm the most challenged among us. Who do you think this siphoning of funds and services hurts? It is not the middle or upper classes.....its the lower economic strata.....and guess who is in that strata? The other groups the Democrats exploit for votes and pretend to care about..... This is my main problem with Liberalism....it is knowledge without wisdom.

I also voted for him, the first time. I met him a few times when he was a Senator. He seemed great to me. Of course I was less enthused about his actions as a President, but he was not the worst....I think Biden likely holds that designation.

I would proceed with caution on this. I recall that recently there was polling suggesting the Republicans would win the last round, but that turned out to be untrue....and lets not forget about the 2016 election. As I sit back and think about this, Democrats have consistently behaved as though people behave based on skin color, that your skin color dictates who you are and what you do..... the elections do tend to support this notion. And then their immigration policy clearly shows they believe this emphatically... Maybe, and this is just a maybe, the Democrats learned how to channel their racism and use it to their advantage. Conservatives have pushed back on this notion since we crushed the Democrats in the civil war, but when you look at this from a high level..... now I am left pondering

It might not, I mean, its not an absolute. I know for me, the moment I met my first child I felt very different. I am confident it changed me for the better.

Democrats and their projection. It is rather nice that we know what they are doing when they try to put their own behaviors on others.

Do liberals still think that covid didn't come from the Wuhan lab that Fauci was funding?
RLLD replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
I got the COVID this week I had the original two shots, but nothing further. Getting back to normal now. If I had any of the conditions that elevate ones risk, I might get another shot. But natural immunity works rather well for normal healthy folks -
Yes, it is amazing how much children can change your perspective. But I think that is potentially an oversimplification. There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. You can easily acquire knowledge, but wisdom comes later.

I am not sure what to make of you parroting a Guiliani accusation, but I guess it might seem useful at the time. Or perhaps you are correct, and the clearly vindictive DOJ appointed Mueller for just that reason

I have this dossier though, so we can now launch a muti=year investigation with a special counsel....

Impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden begins- over Hunter Biden
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Agree. There is a mountain of evidence....for tax evasion....but unless they can bring indisputble proof of treason, such as something Biden did politically to repay all that money funneled to him....then we need not do the fake impeachment nonsense again. -

I must admit that I am astonished you disagree..... Well, it would be philosophically honest for you to do so I guess. I mean, I infer you supported the farcical impeachments toward Trump with no evidence.....so ok then... I am suprised you and I diverage here. Regardless, I have high demands before I think impeachment should ever be used. Right now, there is no path for it. Until I observe something tangible, all they have is tax evasion.
