At 13 Baltimore City high schools, zero students tested proficient on 2023 state math exam
RLLD replied to RLLD's topic in The Geek Club
Thank you for a moderately thoughtful reply. The link does more than what you are asserting, but lets hash your point out. Prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 the AA double-parent household rate was in pretty good shape, and getting even better....and with it socieconomic outcomes. The Brookings institute points to this as being 1 of 3 key factors promoting success in society. And so it is rather important. So much so that we do hear a nice drum beat of folks pointing to the importance and value of fathers, and with regard to young men in particular, helping their eventual success. Since we agree on this point, the question arises how can we help folks, all of them everywhere, make better choices to avoid this pitfall? You have not yet changed my mind that culture is the main driver, is it the only one, of course not. But it is the biggest part, can have the biggest impact toward improvement. -

Interesting. Do you deny that the primary abuser of AA's in our history were Democrats? Or do you deny that the remants of that abuse linger today? -
I am hesitant to correlate modern liberalism with fascism, I think those correlations do exist, but they are just part of the nature of totalitarianism in general. I think a much more pointed correlation exists between modern liberalism and Maoism.

Well first, lets get this part out of the way. The first question might be, do I think racism still exists.....and the answer is yes. The follow on question might be, well then does it play a role in holding people back. That answer is more complicated. I do not think we can say racism is never impacting, so it likely exists out there. Not limited to any single group, nor toward any single group. But in any analysis one should never rely on a univariate assessment. Society, and people, are complex. There are MANY elements that contribute to success and failure. I think perhaps my answer might be......systemic racism is no longer a relevant point. We managed to fight off the Democrats and their decades of racist policies. Now, I might point out that many of their current policies seem to often do more harm than good for AA's in particular, but I digress. What can be lost in the shuffle is the remnants of slavery and then the decades long abuse of Democrats, the lingering effects are still present....and they dominate AA culture. That is why we see immigrants from all places around the world, and notably from Africa, emmigrate here and enjoy success.... they do not carry the baggage of Democrat abuse within their culture. SO......the dominant factor, of many in play, remains the AA culture....and how we fix THAT -

What decisions and actions hold blacks back? Without any other reason, why do blacks make bad decisions? (your words not mine) While I could lower myself to your level of behavior and equate your education to that of a Baltimore City student, I will refrain (for now), but perhaps your should conduct a Google search on the term metaphorical. I accuse you of thinking what you posted. You suggested "being genetically inferior again." I am not ignoring any questions, even your petulent ones. Every day, every person is making decisions, some result in good outcomes and some result in negative outcomes. I am not aware of the specific decisions each person makes. But until we accept this for ALL people, since we appear to accept this for many.....then how can people making bad decisions be helped? Culturally, as I have posted with supporting links, there appears to be an issue with AA culture. Do you have a link that might refute what I have provided in terms of linked sources? -

I did not attend a Baltimore City school. But if you post something, stand behind it. Don't deflect and run away from it like a coward. You conflation of culture with genetics is racist, plain and simple, it always has been and always will be. Not only did I not suggest the two were linked, I pointedly posted in this thread my direct opposition to that suggestion. So it is YOU who thinks that way, not I. Now, your typical move is to metaphorically run up behind folks and squeal that they are stupid and run away, rather than have a frank conversatsion. Its part cowardice and part immaturity. Not sure what % of each you are. But the act to misrepresent others as you seem inclinded to do....is cowardly, without question. Now, if you want to have a frank conversation about the influence of culture, NOT FOCKING GENETICS.....then we can talk..... -

If your intent is to rely on the school to conduct the education of your child, that is fine for you. I see this differently. I delgate some measure of education to the school, but at the end of the day it us MY responsibility to ensure that child is properly educated. -

Fed Raises Interest Rates to 22-Year High, Leaves Door Open for More
RLLD replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
Fed meeting live updates: No interest rate hike expected in September I am on the fence here. On the one hand I do want the Fed to be measured, and this would be a demonstration of that restraint and tactical intent. But strategically it is perhaps not the best idea. The White House has not really changed their approach and as a result we should expect continued inflation, and likely a rise. Its a tough time right now with no promise of relief. -

How odd to equate decision making with genetics..... you do know that was a key facet of the beliefs of the Nazi's right? I mean, you really have some dark sh!t in your head..... -

Thanks for that thoughtful reply. You make a valid point, it is entirely possible to escape the negative elements of culture, accentuate the positive, and rise. There is no mysterious force out there holding anyone back, it remains only their own decisions and actions that hold anyone back. -
Well, it is the biggest threat to the Democrat Party....and that is what they really care about.

In terms of genetically inferior...I am not on that boat. I would point to culture and how it can both positively and negatively influence. -

Not at all.....there are plenty of people who highlight race. Notably....black people....all the time....are THEY racist...of course not. So you embody the problem. Someone speaks out, and unless they pretend AA's are the victim....they are racist. Your type ruin discourse and honest solutions, just to make yourself feel better. And you have no shame....just allow these folks to suffer.... to serve your own selfish need for social credit......pretty pathetic -

Noope, but I know that is the immediate move. And I get it. Your insistence to refuse to deal with the proiblem less you hurt feelings is cowardice, and you bring the point home by calling anyone who attempts to delve into the problem....racist.... You happily doom people to a downward spiral, and allow yourself to feel good about it....like a sociopath. -
I would not put too much faith in him, He is a politician. He is also proven to be a pathological liar. He might be saying things you agree with, and that is fine. But I would not put ANY stock that he A) actually beleives anything he said B ) will actually deliver on anything he said and C) isnt simply being told what to say by the people actually running the show. It makes sense to help Ukraine, so long as we do not put boots on the ground and so long as Europe carries the bulk of the burden.

No, that is far too simple a solution to fix a problem this big and deep. And it wont get better over night. If you sit back and think about it a bit more perhaps the opportunity will be more clear. Or....as i said....let it ride, keep doing the same things.... and best of luck to those being harmed..... -

You are very welcome. Maybe, just maybe, there is hope that the failed ideas are stopped....and we stop harming people. But until we end the "that's racist" bullsh!t....I doubt we see any progress.
