At 13 Baltimore City high schools, zero students tested proficient on 2023 state math exam

The family unit within the AA community is unhealthy. Prior to the mid-1960's AA families were progressing well, but issues arose that then impeded that progress. Faminists were attacking the "nucvlear family" and important changes were then in flight No one understood the imporance of a two-parent home, and the idea of that was now being considered "racist". So the Civil Rights Act of 1964 paid mothers so long as a father was not present in the home, creating incentive. Later, rather than call out this situation as being less than suitable, it became en vogue to champion single mothers....nothing wrong with that except that it exacerbated the problem. So we have to accept that the AA family unit has been significantly harmed by liberal policies over the decades; not even noting the "crime bill" etc..... The damage is done. We have to stop pretending that the AA culture has not been ruined to a large extent, and the things held up as good are out of alignment with actual good. Fix the families.....incentivise two-parent homes, take some of that education money and create programs for parents in low income areas. But this is all racist....because it operates under the premise that the problem lies within the people and their culture, and NOT the system. And until that narrative is let go, we see these people continuing to suffer. -

Agree of course, but we can trace these problems to some really bad policies. -

Speaking hard truths is not racist, even if it might offend or hurt feelings, so no....not racist to be honest. Liberal policies lack vetting, criticism and proper refinement.....you cannot do any of those things because to challenge liberal doctrine risks being labelled.......some ideas are bad, even if thery appear to be virtuous or helpful....but liberals do no tolerate being challenged....as a result their policies are less effective.....more harmful too. -

Not at all. In fact, by ignoring the problem and hiding behind "racism" you are effectively ensuring a disproportionate outcome. Your manuever is racist in that it harms the people you pretend to care about. Now, if you want to ignore the policies toward AA's and pretend they have not harmed them, pretend the racist policies of Democrats over the years have not fomented ongoing harm.....that is fine.....ignore away, it is clearly having the designed impact..... -

When the police make a mistake and harm a black person, there is certainly plenty of race to be discussed.... When those same people might be contributing to their own negative outcomes....racism.... Does no one see how this is doomed to failure? No one...no group...no individual....is without fault. -

So long as "racism" is used to impede thourghtful discussion and critical analysis, you participate the the active avoidance....you help doom these people to the same scenario, and worse. Do as you please of course, but in order to fix difficult problems we have to risk being offensive. And just because liberal policies have fomented the deplorable outcomes for these folks does not mean we cannot discuss it pointedly....since it is clearly hitting them disproportionately. You are all in when you can blame anything else, but where blame could be shared by those impacted....you stop short...hence the problem continues. -

This is a perfect example of the problem. We have to be able to speak frankly, and if we are only going to encounter "racism" then we cannot progress. We have to stop pretending that truth is racist. -

Admitting you are wrong is perhaps one of the most challenging things people can do. It takes courage and it takes strength.....and those qualities are in low supply today. -

There is no perfect idea, all have their flaws of course. It is not as if conservatives have some perfect set of policies and ideas. The distinction to be noted is that the liberal ideas tilt toward "bad" and notably without the added value of a robust conservative vetting. Conservative ideas are heavily vetted, from all sides....they are constantly challenged and as a result they are more developed and by extension then also better for that. You cannot challenge liberal ideas in the same way. You risk being labelled....racist....mysoginist...homophobe...on and on. As a result the ideas do not enjoy the kind of critical review and honing....and then they lack development.... Where you observe liberal ideas running unchallenged, you note the steadily decreasing experience of people living there -

Agree. It is a strategic error. The intent when using that strategy was to play on the voter ,to manipulate them to seeing Democrats as virtuous and Republicans as evil, and thus secure power through voter manipulation. But as you have noted, the strategy has a flaw. How can you either implement a proper fix, or collaborate with those who have one, when you have painted them as being evil? Its a conundrum. But here they are. So now they cannot fix the problem, but have to allow it to fester rather than admit to being wrong, because that is a threat to their power. -

I do wonder, what would it take for Democrats to admit there is a problem with their border policy? What has to happen? How bad does it have to get? -

Fixing adults who have been subsumed already is an entirely different problem to attack. What I am asserting is that we need to catch it now, and that means providing some services to families as soon as possible. We have to stem the tide, deal with the problems we have allowed to foment, and also help the people who have suffered within a sick culture. All three can and should be dealt with, but unless we can start admitting some hard truths, it really wont matter what we do. -

In order to fix this problem, we might have to hurt some feelings. We may have to admit that the problem, even though it might feed a "trope", is centered on the people and their behaviors. There are some hard truths to be discussed, frankly and completely...and yes the community will have to accept some level of culpability.... Once we can discuss the problem frankly, change and improvement is possible. -

But completely fixable. We cannot fix them in school, that is not the move, it has to be at home. We fix that and the rest falls neatly into place. -

When one(Democrats) have fomented an ideology where only they can be "right" and anything else is evil....it allows them to do just about anything....and justify it. Mao did this same thing, this is not new at all.... -
They are asserting, along with their Democrat leaders, that it is preferable to have a criminal Democrat in power rather than a dooshbaggy Republican.

CBS news falsely claims Putin is trying to start WW3
RLLD replied to JustinCharge's topic in The Geek Club
Putin has stated that he considers the break up of the Soviet Union to be the biggest gobal catastrophe of the 20th century.....yeah I know, apparently he forgot all about the millions dead in his nation from WWII alone....focking moron. BUT....his mentality on this explains his intent and strategy. He wants to restore that union, plain and simple, and he has the model to work from.....the Nazi model of taking and taking. So he is working to restore that union. Why now? Well, Democrat policies tend to cause the price of energy to rise, and that means big $$ for Putin, and a way to fund his actions. -
And that is the tactic....for Biden....the entire purpose of this design is to affect exactly this kind of defense in court..... and here we have the media doing.... Would they defend Trump against this as well? Of course not....
