Yawn.....I doubt much comes of this. We have already observed the lengths that the DOJ is willing to reach to protect Hunter, and by extension Joe..... BUT....if it should arise that Joe does not run, will that protection continnue?

These seem reasoned to my eyes. Should there be any limit on how many people we allow to come into the nation? -

I am not limited to the content of a lightly-trafficked message board..... I look at the nation, and the overall activity....and right now, thankfully....violence, intolerance and cancellation are the key tools used by those supporting Liberal stances. Time and again......on the more rare occasion that it arises on the right it is squashed, assailed and dealt with appropriately....when it happens on the left, well, we just have to understand.... -

I know the admin is working hard to reframe the economy, lying through their teeth at every turn. The problem with this one is simple....you cannot lie your way through this, people are out there living in the real world every day, so the net outcome is that people just do not trust them on the economy any more. At best the Biden admin is completely inept, at worst it is criminal. -

You are typically rather cogent on this topic. So may I ask, if you were to solution an approach what that might look like at the 1000ft view? Maybe five or six key elements to a more appropriate system? -

I do not put much stock into polls. I think they can be "managed" so as to get a desired result. That being said, the media that has so steadfastly propped up and protected Biden is echoing this same concern now. They are not concerned about the pain he caused lower classes through his inflationary behaviors.....not concerned about his abscence of leadership ala Afghanistan.....not concerned about his obvious decline.....not concerned about all the unsual money coursing into his family through the fake LLC's and evidence of his close participation with his son for favors.....no......they worry he might yield power to Republicans.... THAT is our media today..... -

Not at all. If the police stop you, then work with them. They are the wall between us and the criminals. As a non-criminal, I have never objected to the police. If you have a problem with the police, it is likely the problem is NOT the police -

In terms of extremism, I acquiesce that one could look and find it on both sides. But I would note that we do not see cancellation, subjugation, intimidation and violence dominating the right...nor is is tolerated from the right....on the left however, we see all of that. The distinction is how they frame themselves and their ideological opponents.... The left projects anything not within their ideology as evil, must be stopped, ended....cannot be tolerated.....and as a result, they allow themselves to be violent, suppressive, intolerant.... the depth and intensity of the intrusion of Maoist leftism into modern liberalism does not have a parallel on the right. -

I think you meant to say "does not". It is a salient point, they are all politcians, so they are likely all doing this to some extent. I think the distinction is the totalitarian tilt of leftist ideology infiltrating deeply into modern liberalism. -
Tranny rapes girl in HS bathroom - School board covers it up
RLLD replied to vuduchile's topic in The Geek Club
Correct. But that is not likely the end of it. The leftists cannot allow even one dissident to enjoy success against the tyranny....the prosecutor intends to find a way to still make an example of him. This is really nothing at all to do with his actions.....its about making an example of him, making sure that parents know their place....and if HE can escape their opression, others might think they can as well....and tyranny does not allow for disenting voices.... -

I see your point, I get it. I think there is always an opportunity to be more effective of course. And I hope that with the up front effort to address the problem more forecfully that eventually we could move away from more aggressive tactics. And franky, the only reason we would have to employ that additional force is the bad policies that have restricted police, allowing criminality to grow. But even then, how do we de-program the decades of abuse? The sickness in the AA culture is not of their own creation, it started in the days of slavery and the Democrats fed it even into the 1990's. It is a nasty problem with no simple answers. Though i think one big positive would be repairing the family. -

RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Nothing is perfect, and policing is also imperfect. It can always be improved and it should be. Pretending that policing is the problem is less effective than dealing with the criminals and their actions. Removing them from society. People benefit when criminals are not roaming among us. Policing is how we fend that off. More policing = better experience. Eventually, with enough effort the locality can enjoy a more peaceful existence. But there is never a univariate situation. I think the bigger, and better, question is how do we fix the culture that inspires illegality. That is a far more interesting pursuit. -

The cost of policing in higher crime areas, to the local people, is more palatable than the crime. And until the police are able to wring that criminalitu out of that area....it will be better to be stopped and inconvenienced....than to have a loved one killed.....just that simple. My suggestion to those impacted is simple....suck it up....help the police not the criminals.....and until the police can get those criminals off the streets and into jail, you might be inconvenieced.... It is really up to the people that live there. Decide, embrace criminality to avoid police involvment....or support the police, and eventually come out the other side.... I know what I would choose.... -
Recall the media coverage of Trump. The left and their allies at the DOJ would toss some red meat to the media, who would come on the air and do the "if true, this would be devasting for the President"....."if true, our president is compramised"......."if true, this would be enough to impeach...." But when is comes to Biden, they circle the wagons....and just regurgitate the......"no proof" over and over, meanwhile there is enough evidence on hand to investigate.....which is all that is happening....unlike the Democrats who just skipped that step....

I understand that, and I get it. But reality shows us that my assertions have merit. Those who initially pushed the defund movement are being proven wrong, but only after enough harm is visited upon people. The entire premise of this movement was inane. The people pushing this should have known better, but apparently were misinformed by our schools, media and politicians.... it was just precious when Pelosi had her AHA moment. It is so easy to trot oneself out as virtuous.....standing up for the poor oppressed minorities....when you do not bear the consequences of your own bad policies....I wonder if Mr Pelosi whispered in her ear to cut the crap and get more policing -

Can anyone say how the whole "January 6 thing" was worse than the 2020 riots?
RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Absolutely! And it is not isolated to areas where minorities exist. It happens in areas dominated by white people, but where crime is elevated. We do not hear about those instances because 1) no one cares, so media does not cover it, no ratings to be derived and 2) there is no political value to be found so the politicians ignore it. So when you hear the term "white privilege" there is an example here. White areas are policed commensureate with their level of crime, and no one tries to dillute that....therefore white areas are better policed and enjoy less crime. Black neighborhoods are left to fester and suffer, rather than risk offending someone. Who is winning in that scenerio......only the criminals in the black neighborhoods and the good people in the white ones. You want to address a "systemic disparity", let the police do their job.....
