Can anyone say how the whole "January 6 thing" was worse than the 2020 riots?

Good people never mind the presence of police -

That criminality to which you are referring is not honoring the zone, it goes outside of it, so the zone of response increases as those criminal elements reach out further and harm more people. When the police go out....I expect them to stop people using their prowess and experience, and to intervene frequently.....even if that action might tend to hurt feelings. Good people wont mind, criminals will focking hate it....which is gratifying in and of itself. More policing will be infuriating to criminals. -

RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Well yes, I get that.......but people who happen to live in these areas who are not criminals deserve protection. Just because the criminality in a given locale is dominated by some segment of society does not mean we allow the criminal element more space to exist.....it means we go after it harder. We should be protecting the good people, even if it means hurting the feelings of the bad ones.... -

Ah! I was missing that point, yes, thank you for clarifying. I think you are correct and I think that could be better. I would like to see police stopping more people in areas of higher crime to better protect the good people in those areas. -
Inflation was going down under Biden, now it’s going back up
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
As i predicted, the Fed will have to raise rates at least two more times.... thelowing of inflation growth will require this move. And let me further note that his will only slow the growth, we will have to live with this elevated inflation for some time to come. Our only real hope now is that during the next election the Republicans are able to gain greater power in the government, they have shown some ability to handle economics properly; though they still manage to fock sh!t up too..... -
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton impeached
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Ken Paxton’s alleged ex-lover intended to invoke 5th Amendment before testimony blocked Thats fine, as long as he is still held accountable. It would appear they are trying to save his wife the embarrasment, ok, whatever. Dude seems to be a doosh so hopefully he gets what coming to him.... Also, worthy of note, suddenly in this instance.....liberals believe whistleblowers again. yay? I mean, I guess if the whistleblower provides political benefit they are to be believed.... -
Biden scolds 'MAGA Republicans' after 5th Circuit Court strikes down DACA, orders no new applicants
RLLD replied to craftsman's topic in The Geek Club
Federal judge again declares that DACA is illegal VERY good news. It should rise to SCOTUS and I have faith in that entity that it will rule on the constituion and NOT on feeewings for illigal immigrants. This is a hopeful outcome for us. -

I think you have salient points here. Police are not excluded from the problem of course, there are going to be select individuals that should just never be a cop. And there will also be those who should be better trained. Policing has a historical factor, but one that should be left to history and not cherry-picked to be applied to current day situations so as to arrive at that "see! its still a problam !!" mantra..... because it is not the systemic issue that once plaugued this nation, instead it is isolated one-offs that are dealt with swiftly....so the entire premise of "lets burn sh!t" will never be something I support... The worst localities need cops the most. There are good people there, and they deserve protection from the criminals. Once you diminish policing you leave those poor people at the mercy of the wolves.....and that is wrong. -

Not sure, there appear to still be those who want to try it. It could also be true that those folks are coming up on an election and are simply trying to manipulate voters. Hard to tell right now. -

Sometimes really bad ideas need to run their course. Defund is an exceptionally bad idea that is running its course. Even the NAACP has figured out that the police are not the problem. So there is hope, but in order for the galactic ally bad ideas to be discovered to be ruthlessly bad….many good people have to be harmed…. In order to avoid hurting the feelings of criminals -
Not sure that is true. I think he should be able to beat Biden, but the effectiveness of media to misinform the public has proven to be rather effective. Most people who hate Trump cannot explain why.... it was an effective manipulation campaign. The media mostly serves the Democrat party now, and it would appear they are not even trying to hide it anymore.
-
Another one seeking to end the police....
-
We can agree to disagree on the level of abuse, but should it arise that the Republicans attempt some kind of revenge and replicate those same behaviors, you and I can stand together in opposing that.....just have to wait for the political circumstances to meet your bias for our objections to unify.
-
Washington Post columnist David Ignatius says Biden should not run for reelection He said the quiet part out loud.....they do not care what the people of this nation want, and they willingly abused our systems as they see fit if only to prevent Trump.....pathetic. I also enjoyed the implicit acknowledgement around Hunter, even if it was a half-measure that pointedly ignored the larger truth.
-
Also, worthy of note, the WH clearly perceives the media as being their partner in this, reaching out as they have and urging them to report in a specific way is implicit acknoqledgement of the relationship between our media and our government. And the unabashed willingness to misinform the public to serve the government. Pretty disturbing stuff.

Californians rejoice! You're getting more tax increases!!
RLLD replied to Strike's topic in The Geek Club
Bigger society should have bigger problems. The problem with California is prioritization. What problems do you focus on and what effort do you apply. Past that the problem is bad leadership and policy. They are making simple mistakes, that is unforgivable. -

RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
The entire premise is based on an assumption from the behaviors of people who are all dead now. So right now police today, you and I as well, are being judged by our color and by people who held our occupation or color in the past. If that sounds stupid and racist, its only because it is. -

Not yet! There is more. There is a finite segment of the AA community falling victim to the ongoing manipulative lies being espoused by media and politicians, and it is in those areas where we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work. The problem is not that big, it is not that hard to fix, but it will require policy changes, better recruitment and better training, and then more community support. We can do this together, this is not an insurmountable hill to climb....but we have to stop lying first, unless we do that, even moving up that hill cannot begin. -

RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Great points! I know this is another one of the darling arguments. And where we have seen police lessen their involvement, to avoid hurting peoples feelings by engaging with them....what happened? Let's just use one example, though there are more, and what you find is that not policing as they should, and yes that means engaging with people, results in the good people being harmed more emphatically by the criminal elements not being dealt with. So who is helped and who is harmed when police are told to avoid hurting their wittul feewings.... the good people are hurt and the criminals are helped. Its not that complex. So yeah, there is a cultural problem in the AA community that does not simply allow criminal activity, it celebrates it. And then you have ruinous policies that pretend the police are the problem, and then you have AA communitiers being ravaged.... -

I know that is the claim, today, but those notions are also farcical. I was more impressed with BLM admitted they were Marxists devoted to the destruction of the nuclear family and western society. Original Marxism was not quite on board with that, though it did seek to remove nationality. -

Apologies! I thought I posted this one...I think you will find what you are seeking here....the other one was debunking another lie, we can leave that for another time.... -
Can anyone say how the whole "January 6 thing" was worse than the 2020 riots?
RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
It absolutely is in there. You cannot simply read only the literal. You have to be able to analyze what is happening. What is the cost of a lie? That is an absolutely integral part of this. We have to stop lying and pretending the police are the problem, as has been demonstrated by this poisonous dogma, it only actually hurts the good people. -
Can anyone say how the whole "January 6 thing" was worse than the 2020 riots?
RLLD replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Correct. It is but one example, and the most important one. Remember, BLM is based on the lie that black lives matter less than other lives. Well, that video highlights two imporant factors. The first being the consequences of that lie : those students were astounded to learn those stats, that is because they have been lied to all their life and taught to think that cops were killing black people is largely disproportionate numbers. Imagine how it flavors their perceptions and interactions with the police, it is destructive. The second being that the stats clearly show that there is NOT a lesser value placed on black lives. So then you have media creating a circus around singular events to get ratings, politicians jumping in to get votes, and then the hucksters flaming it up to get social credit for themselves within that community. These parasites foment fear for their own advantage. -

If it were true that Democrats cared I submit that we would see drastically different policies, and this goes back decades. It really is time to stop hurting these people. -
