I think there is no doubt. When I consider Trump I see that his "core" is thoroughly devoted, its a small and immovable group. He does not seem to have the wider acceptance. Where he seems to be rising its really a reflection of how fed up people are with failed liberal policy. Conversely, when I consider Biden I see he has small support across a range of society. He is able to generate enough of the variety of our society to find some support. The rub for him being that too much of that variety is perhaps a little too easy manipulated away. This is why RFK jr is such a threat to Democrats. Will they be able to siphon away Trumps support? Not really, not that much.....but a guy like RFK or this other thing Manchin is doing would absolutely have a tangile impact on the support for Biden. I submit we should expect as strong a villification toward Machin and RFK as we have seen for Trump. It's not really about them as individuals....its about the gravity of their ability to take away Democrat power and rule.

Jason Aldean’s "Try That In A Small Town" Censored And Accused Of ‘Pro-Lynching' Themes

Well sure, lets just allow some folks to be inappropriate, and decide on a whim what we will and wont allow. On second though, I think we used to treat people differently and I think that was wrong. And we worked pretty hard for decades to wring out this dual system from our society, so....upon reflection, no. No, silencing others, no matter how much they say things you dislike, I think I we should object. -
What I see is that this Kennedy guy is a serious threat to them. Wow, they really fear him dont they? I had no idea he was this formisable in their eyes.
-
Agree. Biden is their guy, more than a Democrat he purportedly beat Trump, and their fear of Trump is almost unnatural. He is clearly being protected with the full force of government.
-
Perhaps. But I see some wisdom in his point. I mean, what if the people that like him decide to behave like BLM and antifa when upset? Therein lies the problem with tolerating looting and thuggery, others watch, others replicate it. I think we need to accept that the framework of allowance for some crime will lead to more crime.

I think we are looking at this all wrong. Here we finally have some level of concern about song lyrics. This is unusual and in some part welcome. Now if we can just expand our concern to the mysoginistic and homophobic lyrics found elsewhere. I am confident that people who care so much about this song, will also care about these others....right? -
I will allow Porky's..... oh and Zapped, wasnt Heather Thomas in that?

I think there is plenty of bias to be found out there, and I submit that bias is part of human nature, and a big part of the success of humans. That being said, the left portrays itself as the defender of people from bias, but is in fact itself the most intolerant set of folks out there.

Lets start with Tropic Thunder, then PCU, then Office Space....and move into the Hangover series.....wedding crashers.....

It might be wise to temper our enthusiasm here. Keep in mind that it could arise at some point that conservatives manage to flip the script, and instead weaponize the DOJ against liberals. If it can happen to conservatives I assure you it could one day happen to liberals. So, given this potential, lets tread carefully here. Attacking political opponents is not a path we want to encourage in this system, it should be left to the banana republics.....
-
Same. There is little out there that really interests me across the spectrum. I would prefer to watch the oldies, anyting that contains no social message.
-
Agree, it is not unique to left or right, it is pervasive across media. It might be true that any outlet which reported impartially might not survive, these companies now rely on aggrandizement for views and income. Its about creating "breaking news" over nothing.
-
This is true, and I would note that they really do not try to hide it. It would seem they feel that there is a market for political pandering and they happily touch into that, rather than hold to journalistic integrity....which is essentially an oxymoron now. Media across the board is rife with "misinformation". We are losing this society as a result. It happens to all societies eventually, its not like anything is permanent. We have had a good run. But we rot from within now and have lost a couple of generations to sinister indoctrination. I presume the next great empire/nation will be China.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Agree. Media appears to be adjusting their propaganda. It would seem that Party leadership has informed them what to report so as to ease him out gently, which I think is actually nice. I thought they might just throw him under the bus to oust him. I assume this is them being kind, but it could just as easily be more self serving. To me it signals that maybe they think Harris is still on the menu, which is focking insane.....
-
I understand your point, I really do. My point is simply this. The Democrats took this all way too far. In their pursuit of power they sacraficed everything, their integrity, reason.....just everything. Do we really want to replicate that? Should we not have a line we will not cross?

Both impeachments toward Trump were farcical nonsense, and because they decided to do that nonsense now I suspect we see the Republicans return the favor, unfortunately. His policy manuevers were solid, loved them, but anyone can do them. He showed how it can be done, how it is possible to employ good policies. We just need someone, anyone, to step up and commit to the Trump model. I would frankly prefer NOT to have Trump involved because we have to put up with excessive whining about stuff that does not matter, its just tiring.
-
Perhaps. That being said, if it were true that instead of what he does at present he decided to adjust.....to pursue putting criminals in prison, lower taxes, increase employment, foment energy independence etc....if he had the policies that made easy common sense, I would happily vote for him for President, no matter how much of a dooshbag he mght be as a person. Results......focking results....... what the fock else matters, amiright?

I think you mistake savvy business acumen for crookery, but I will allow that he is unsavory. And as I have stated in the past, I have the experience of serving under a variety of leaders, and in battle where my life was on the line. I prefer the effective, if unsavory, leader over the nice guy who screws things up. I doubt I would like Donald Trump at all if I actually met him. But....if he implements policies that improve the lives of most of the citizens then it does not matter what I think of him as a person. Moreover, if even a fraction of the accountability applied to Trump were remotely applied to Biden I would be perfectly satisfied. But between the two....I cannot be sure right now who is the more corrupt or "bad", other than Biden implements really stupid policies that have predicatable outcomes....that he first denies, then tries to pretend away....and then blames others.... In terms of "leadership" he might be one of the worst I have ever seen....

A reasoned post IMHO

I have to admit, I am grabbing some popcorn when it comes to these two chattering at each other
-
He is guilty of being an outsider, intent to change the system for better. Keep in mind....the Democrats even do this to their own. They actually subjugated Bernie Sanders, for similar reasons.I doubt the policies of Sanders would have amounted to anything more than the destructive outcomes Biden has provided, but he was seen as an outsider. So, in the true nature of the religion of liberalism, conform or else. Power is to be centralized into The Party, and opposition is to be silenced and subdued by any means necessary. Just watch what they now do to Manchin.....
-
If we are speaking about Biden than I would tend to agree, Trump was not without issue but certainly was not as bif of a concern as Joe has been.
-
It would be probably on point that someone, perhaps a group of someones, complained. So then this small set of "concerned citizens" can dictate for the rest of us what we can listen to. But hold on, removal of inappropriate content is something liberals support.....such as with statues....no, hold on they oppose it....such as with books in schools....no-no, they support that.... Hmmmm, maybe its true that they want to censor what they object to......but care nothing about what others object to.....

If we can be honest about this for a moment, this is a pointed effort arising from Democrats to prevent Trump from being able to run for President, plain and simple, and there is nothing past this factor actually in play here. Now Trump wants to elongate this thing, because if he is elected he can pardon himself. Certainly that is a key component in his math. Conversely, the Democrats want this to be fast. Trump is a threat to their power, and rather than allow Americans to elect what they want, Democrats want to hold exclusive power. Trump WILL resume improvement to the lives of people, and the Democrats fear this emphatically. I think the judge will not give either of them entirely what they want. So then it will likely boil down to how well the Trump legal team can foster delay.....and conversely how well the Democrats can avoid those delays. Now, should it be true that Trump bails out of the election, then all of this would disappear. I surmise he might be staying in as something of a "fock you" to the powerful.
